Yangon Region

· Since the evening of 10th July, the military junta has instructed the oxygen-producing plants in Yangon Region to stop their oxygen refills to the citizens.

· At about 1:00 pm, the public made a protest by burning the military flag near Yuzana Plaza in Tamwe Township.

· In North Okkalapa Township, a rally of North Okkalapa with no plan to retreat, in cooperation with a rally of East Dagon for the repayment of the bloody debt, expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship.

· At about 5:10 pm Sunday, there was a bomb explosion at the township electricity department in Thanlyin.

· On Sunday evening, the military junta blocked off some roads in the downtown area of Yangon for nearly one hour.

· According to residents of Mayangone Township, there was a robbery with gunshots at Hlathida jewellery on Sunday morning. Reportedly, one of the robbers was arrested.

Mandalay Region

· In Chanaye Thazan Township, two staff members of the electricity department, who had been collecting electricity bills, were shot at about 10:00 am Sunday. Reportedly, one of them died in the incident.

· A combined rally of Myataung, Phayagyi, Cooperative University Students and Gems Traders marched on Sunday afternoon for the end of the military dictatorship.

· A rally of Mandala University students made a powerful protest in the evening, chanting- “There must be no chance for the military junta to rule”.

· On Sunday, Mandalay Health rally marched against the terrible military dictatorship.

· Aung Pinle General Strike expressed their desire to uproot the military junta.

· To mark their 153-day protest against the military dictatorship, a rally of Mandalay Monks’ Union went up to 69 road, chanting anti-junta slogans.

· On Sunday morning, a powerful rally of Aungmye Thazan Schools, in cooperation with Cooperative University students, protested against the military dictatorship on 84 road near Zaycho and the clock tower.

· Kyaukse PDF announced on Sunday that they had burnt down a military building where a large number of the junta armed forces used to station in Kyaukse Township on Saturday.

Sagaing Region

· According to Myaing Township PDF, a convoy of military trucks carrying junta soldiers was attacked by Myaing and Pale PDFs on Pale-Khinaye road in Sagaing Region. Reportedly, the junta army lost more than 20 soldiers.

· To mark their 123-day protest, a rally comprising various villages from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East expressed their objection to the military dictatorship.

· In Kalay Township, residents went up to Bogyoke road on Sunday morning and made a protest against the military dictatorship. They also laid a wreath in honour of those who had lost their lives in protests- NLD district chair U Ba Min (64 years) and Ko Tha Phyo (37 years).

· In Salingyi Township, Latbadaung Taung General Strike expressed their desire on Sunday for the downfall of the military dictatorship.

· In Yinmabin District, more than 100 junta soldiers raided the villages in Kani Township and destroyed the property of residents by setting them on fire.

· In Khin-U Township, a man named Ko Win Kyaw, who had claimed that he belonged to the Pyusawti group in Kanthit village, was stabbed to death on Saturday night.

· According to residents of Tamu Township, 6 Chin ethnic teenagers were shot by the junta armed forces near Kyungbintha bridge at about 10:00 pm Saturday. In the incident, two of them died, three others were injured and the last one escaped.

· On Sunday morning, there were battles between local PDFs and the junta armed forces at two spots on the road to Kalay. Consequently, the cars transporting oxygen to Kalay were stuck in Ponetaung Ponenya.

Ayeyarwady Region

· In Myaungmya where stay-at-home has been declared, the military junta has been selling permit cards to go out at 500 Kyats per card.

· In Pantanaw, some staff members of the electricity department, accompanied by the junta armed forces, threatened to cut out the power supply to the houses which do not pay electricity bills.

· On 30th June, Ko Aung Mya Than, a journalist of Ayeyarwaddy Times, was released from Pathein prison. He was arrested again by the military junta at about 10:00 pm Saturday.

Taninthayi Region

· In Longlone Township, there was a protest against the military dictatorship in Lower Kyaukwut village on Saturday night.

· The junta armed forces have been raiding Longlone Township. Therefore, young residents made an indoors strike against the military dictatorship on Sunday morning, holding posters- “Fighting, Lower Yebyu! We all stand with you”.

· To mark their 153-day protest, Kanbauk residents marched on Sunday evening for the downfall of the military dictatorship, holding signs- “If there is fighting, there is victory. Kanbauk will fight till the end”.

· On Sunday evening, Dawei General Strike, in cooperation with a rally of young students, made a motorbike protest against the military dictatorship, banging pots and pans.

· In Longlone Township, four residents of the Yebyu village group were arrested on Sunday morning.

· In Dawei, there was an anti-junta movement in the eastern area on Sunday.

Kachin State

· In Pha-Kant Township, a rally of Tamakan Myothit expressed their desire for the end of the military dictatorship.

· The local people in Moegaung Township made a protest against the military dictatorship at dawn on Sunday.

· In Pha-Kant, residents of Lonekhine group made a motorbike strike against the military dictatorship.

· Nammati townspeople conducted protests against the military dictatorship at dawn and in the afternoon.

Kayah State

· According to PKPF, at least 88 houses in Moebye were destroyed by the junta armed forces.

· According to PKPF, 155 houses in 3 towns were destroyed during battles against the junta armed forces in Kayah (Kayinni) State.

· In Fruso Township, a sick person with breathing difficulty passed away on Sunday. The test after his death showed that he had been infected with COVID-19.

Kayin State

· Reportedly, there are difficulties in importing equipment related to COVID-19 prevention and treatment (masks, PPEs, oxygen cylinders, oxygen machines) through Myawady trade zone on the Thai-Myanmar border.

· According to Mutraw District news agency, there were 6 battles in Mutraw Township between KNLA and the junta armed forces from 5th to 7th July. Reportedly, 10 junta soldiers died and another one was injured.

· Due to a high rate of COVID-19 infection in Phapun, the military junta will reportedly make travel restrictions in the road section of Phapun-Kamamaung-Pa-an.

Chin State

· Mindat Township IDP Camps Management Committee called for donations as Mindat IDPs and the rural community have been confronted with a lack of food.

Mon State

· The public in Paung Township conducted an anti-junta movement with the theme- “Wear masks and destroy the junta army” on Sunday.

· The military administration council has instructed a temporarily closure of the Mawlamyein Zaycho Yadana Tun trade quarter.

Rakhine State

· Due to a high rate of COVID-19 infection in Rakhine State, the military junta has instructed to close border trade points from 15th to 31st July.

· In Ang Township, two residents of Kyauksin village were hit by a mine and seriously injured.

Shan State

· In Nyaung Shwe of Shan South, the township electricity department has been cutting out power-lines with the excuse for not paying electricity bills.

· In Maitone Township of Shan East on the Thai-Myanmar border, the junta armed forces collect money in Pachi and allow the passage every night. Consequently, many people are crossing the border. Reportedly, residents are worried about COVID-19 infection.

Nay Pyi Taw

· Justice for Myanmar criticized that the sale of Telenor operator to Lebanon-based M1 Group was like adding fuel to the fire for freedom of expression and privacy security of Myanmar people.

· Kalay university students majoring in Myanmar sent a letter to the NUG, requesting the removal of a novel named “The Flapping of Flamingos” contained in Module (1) for third-year Myanmar students.

Summary on 12th July

· Amidst security measures by armed forces, the youth in Yangon made guerrilla protests. The military junta put pressure in various ways for the payment of electricity bills. They also kept armed forces at electricity departments. However, there were explosions at some electricity departments. The number of COVID-19 patients is on the rise and the military hospitals do not accept them. Therefore, the patients have to struggle with the disease at home. Most patients need oxygen and there are lines of people waiting day and night at oxygen refill shops. At such time, the military junta raided those shops and restricted oxygen refills to the citizens.

· In Mandalay, there were still public protests on the streets. The military junta still prepared to make crackdowns with mobile patrols and armed people in plain clothes under pretences.

Amidst arrests by the junta armed forces, Mandalay rallies expressed their desire against the military dictatorship in various ways all day long.

· In Sagaing Region, the public protests had great momentum. Besides this, there were battles between local PDFs and the junta armed forces in upper Sagaing.

· In other states and regions, there were still protests against the military dictatorship. As for Shan State with a high rate of COVID-19 infection, they had almost no protests.

· The military junta has been confronted with hardships in medical treatment due to CDM health staff. They have also been making it difficult for the patients who are receiving treatment on their own. Due to mobility restrictions in some townships with COVID-19, the junta administration offices and armed forces have been selling permit cards to go out. The military junta has been putting pressure all across the country on the payment of electricity bills. They have also tightened security measures at electricity departments. Although the border points have been closed due to COVID-19, junta soldiers have been collecting money and allowing passage. Therefore, residents are deeply concerned about COVID-19 infections.
