The Military Council

  • On Thursday, there was a meeting between Myanmar and India to discuss sending specialist doctors from Nay Pyi Taw under the Ministry of Health to India for study.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that there was a large demand for yarn and clothing as the country had a population of 55 million people, and that it was necessary to grow more cotton locally for more productivity.
  • According to the junta media, there was a meeting for loans to fishery businesses from COVID-19 fund to relieve the economic impacts of the pandemic.
  • The junta newspaper said that with the help of China, efforts would be put into construction projects of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and a training school for health staff.
  • According to the junta newspaper, the military junta sent responsible personnel to investigate the case in which a junta soldier named Min Min Soe had committed rape against a 62-year-old woman in Phakat village of Kutkhine Township in Shan North. As he was found guilty, legal action would be taken against him through a military court.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG announced that the Ministry of Electricity and Energy had drawn up plans for no power outage to hospitals, health centres and other important places in the emergency period, with minimum negative impacts on the public.
  • The NUG called on individuals and families to use environmentally-friendly and cost-effective solar energy.
  • On Thursday, Ministry of Defence-NUG announced that over 1300 junta soldiers were cleared in a month of defensive war against the military junta.
  • In his words of best wishes for the Chin new year celebration, Dr. Sasa mentioned that collecting the broken pieces, a new, free and fair Myanmar for all would be created so that the military junta could not be rooted again.
  • Ministry of Education-NUG announced that as a constant learning programme for students and youth in the interim, a short course on News and Media Literacy would be conducted for ICT students on 15th November.

Revolution Activities

  • Danny Fenster, an American journalist and managing editor of Frontier Myanmar, was sentenced to 11 years in prison by the junta court.
  • As a 278-day protest, Kalay people marched against the military dictatorship on Friday.
  • The junta armed forces raided Shautkha village in Ayadaw Township and Aungsimye village in Dibeyin Township, and set fire to houses. Consequently, over 1000 local residents had to run away.
  • According to Katha Revolution, Mg Aung Moe, a PDF member aged 21, lost his life in a battle between the junta army and a combined force of KIA+local PDF in Katha Township on Wednesday.
  • In Shwebo Township, local people went around a village on Friday, expressing their desire for the NUG and against the military dictatorship.
  • In Pale Township, the junta army shot mortars seven times at Myagone and Thittaya villages at about 7:00 pm Thursday. According to a local resident, houses were damaged and 4 villagers were injured.
  • In Khin-U Township, 2 people, who were allegedly Pyusawti members and junta informers, were killed. According to a local PDF, sharp weapons and knives were confiscated.
  • In Dimawso Township of Kayah (Karenni) State, a member of the Karenni Army lost his life in a battle on Thursday. His funeral, attended by KNDF members, took place on Friday.
  • According to PKRF-Information Center, 7 Catholic churches in Karenni area were destroyed by the junta armed forces.
  • In Mingaladone Township of Yangon Region, a combined rally of students’ unions conducted an anti-junta movement in front of the military cemetery on Friday. At that time, the junta army carried out a violent crackdown. Reportedly, protesters managed to get away.
  • On Friday, Myaing Township Basic Education General Strike Committee and farmers expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • In Thedaw village of Wandwin Township, the NLD office was blown up by the junta armed forces and Pyusawti members at 12:30 am Friday.
  • In lower rural community of Yebyu Township, local people made an indoors strike against the military dictatorship on Friday morning.
  • In Longlone Township, youth and students expressed their objection to the military dictatorship on Friday, holding signs - ‘Respect the public’s desire. Protest against the junta schools’.
  • According to Guerrilla Dawei on Friday, they fired 9 gunshots at Daw Zar Chi Oo, junta informer in Pogyung Ward.
  • U Myint Mg, former Chief Minister of Taninthayi Region, was sentenced to 11 years in prison, together with labour, under 3 charges at the prison court.
  • In Yay Township of Mon State, Bodaw Min, a PDF member, lost his life in the fighting against the military junta.
  • In Phaya Thonesu of Kayin State, a rally of women ‘Iron Roses’ led a night strike against slavery education of the military junta on Thursday.
  • In Maubin of Ayeyarwaddy Region, a daily labourer of City Development Department and his wife with two-month pregnancy were accused of stealing money from the house of a deputy administrator. They were arrested and beaten by the junta police force. According to local residents, the woman died during the investigation.
  • In Hmawzar village of Pyi Township in Bago Region, the police camp was attacked by Pyi PDF (PPDF). Reportedly, there were exchanges of fire, killing 3 junta soldiers and leaving one other injured. According to local residents, the PPDF lost one of their members.
  • According to CNA, the junta army set fire to 7 houses in Tantlang of Chin State on Thursday night.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Shan North, a junta convoy invading Kokang area faced guerrilla attacks by MNDAA in Theinni and Monekoe townships. According to the Kokang media, 9 military trucks were damaged.
  • In Pha-Pun District under control of KNU, there were 22 battles between the junta armed forces and KNLA on 9th and 10th November. According to KNLA, 23 junta soldiers died and many others were injured.

Summary on 12th November

  • Reportedly, the revolution gained great momentum. There were battles in Chin, Sagaing, Kayah, Shan North, Kayin and Kachin. In the fighting, both the junta army and local PDFs lost their members.
  • It takes time for ordinary warfare activities. It is necessary for the NUG to provide more weapons and for the public to make more donations. Only then, the people will be able to escape from the military dictatorship as soon as possible.
  • As for Sagaing, Yangon, Mandalay, Magwe, Mon, Dawei and Ayeyarwaddy, they had great momentum in guerrilla revolution.
