Spring Revolution Daily News for 13 October 2022 

The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • The NUG Ministry of Defence announced on Tuesday that it had launched its own Twitter account. 
  • Dr. Sasa, the NUG Minister of International Cooperations, stated that they had honored Ko Phyo Wai Soe, a founder and Second Military Chief of the Yaw Defence Force who died as a martyr. 
  • On Tuesday, there was a meeting between the NUG Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration and the Township Public’s Security Forces from Sagaing Region and Magwe Region. Reportedly, they discussed matters such as the rule of law and areas under the control and administration of local villages. 
  • According to Eagle People Defences based in Sagaing Region under the NUG, they managed to produce mortars which can be fired further than 4,000 meters. 

Revolutionary Activities 

  • In Kyaikto Township in Mon State, there was fighting between an unknown armed group and the junta armed forces near Kinmunchaung Village on Wednesday morning. Reportedly, three people lost their lives and some others were injured due to the mortars shot by junta soldiers in the vicinity. 
  • In Karenni State, Lwin Moe Thu, a soldier from the junta army Ka-Ma-Ya (4), defected to the Karenni People on Tuesday. 
  • According to a combined force of Karenni Organizations, they have been conducting a fund-raising lucky draw for emergency medical supplies for those injured in local battles. 
  • In Minkin Township in Sagaing Region, local PDFs attacked a fleet of 13 military vessels on the Chindwin River at about 9:00 am on Tuesday. Reportedly, five junta soldiers died and two of their vessels were damaged. 
  • In Wetlet Township, junta soldiers in a military helicopter raided Ngapatchaung Village, even though there was no fighting there, on 8 October. While rescuing the trapped villagers, a sniper lost their life. Regarding it, Black Wolf Army PDF announced that it would take serious action for its loss. 
  • In Myaung Township, an alliance of the Women Drone Force conducted bomb attacks on the junta immigration office and the junta inspection gate on Monday morning using drones. Reportedly, four junta members died. 
  • In Chaung-U Township, the junta armed forces set fire to local villages on Tuesday. Reportedly, almost 100 houses were burnt down. 
  • On Wednesday, a combined rally of villagers from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship. 
  • In the north of Yinmabin Township, a combined rally from three villages protested against the military dictatorship on Wednesday. 
  • Raising a banner for the revolution, Monywa Township Basic Education Students’ Union expressed their objection to the military dictatorship on Wednesday. 
  • In Monywa District, two members of a local PDF lost their lives on Sunday while on the way to set mines against the junta army. 
  • In Myaing Township in Magwe Region, local PDFs attacked a military truck going to and fro between the junta army and local police station at about 4:00 pm Tuesday. 
  • In Pakkoku Township, there were bomb attacks with drones on the hiding places of junta soldiers who had burnt villages. 
  • On Sunday, Black Wolf PDF-MDY conducted a grenade attack on the junta army on patrol in front of the junta offices in Yesagyo. 
  • In Kyaukse Township in Mandalay Region, the junta army shot at three young people at the Shwegugyi Gate on Sunday and arrested them. 
  • In Wandwin Township, there was a bomb attack on Shwetaung Police Station using a drone on Tuesday afternoon. Reportedly, three junta members died and three others were injured. 
  • Thura U Shwe Man, the Chair of the Union Betterment Party, stated that they decided to wind up their party due to the old age of the founders, social, health and other problems as well as their lack of desire for party politics. 
  • In North Okkalapa Township in Yangon Region, there was a bomb attack on the house of the junta pilot Kyaw Kyaw Tun at about 8:00 pm Tuesday. Reportedly, his mother was injured in the incident. 
  • In Hmawbi Township, a local PDF carried out a remote bomb attack on the housing of war veterans at 7:00 pm Tuesday as a warning to those with links to the junta army. 
  • Somewhere in Yangon, youths released a hot air balloon trailing a banner for the revolution on Tuesday night. 
  • In Myingyan Township in Mandalay Region, a military convoy was attacked with a variety of mines on Monday night. Reportedly, a military truck was damaged and nine junta soldiers died. 
  • Between Thabaitgyin and Sintku, a large number of the junta armed forces have been invading local villages since Wednesday morning. 
  • In recent days, the military junta secretly transferred about 100 political prisoners from Mandalay Obo Jail to other jails around the country.
  • In Boatpyin Township in Tanintharyi Region, local PDFs ambushed the junta army at Wachaung Village on Union Road on Wednesday morning. Reportedly, a junta soldier died and two others were injured. 
  • In Thayetchaung Township, a local PDF conducted a bomb attack via drone at the junta inspection gate between two villages on Tuesday night. 
  • On Wednesday, a rally of anti-junta monks protested against the military dictatorship, holding signs. 
  • Before her trial on Tuesday, State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi expressed her thanks to those working for the common good. 

Ethnic Armed Organisations 

  • In Sawlaw Township, a combined force of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and PDFs confiscated a car carrying weapons for the junta army and Border Guard Forces on Sunday. Reportedly, local people were concerned about the consequent battles in the area. 
  • In Shweku Township in Kachin State, there was heavy fighting between the junta army and KIA near Manwine Village on Wednesday afternoon. 
  • In the Mara Area of Chin State, there were exchanges of fire between CDF-Mara and the MDF on Sunday. 

The Military Council 

  • On Tuesday afternoon, there was a meeting between the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing and a delegation from the New Mon State Party led by its Deputy Chair in Naypyidaw. 
  • The military junta announced that it had handed 17 PDF members from Yangon Region and Bago Region back to their parents without charging them, on Tuesday afternoon. 
  • On Wednesday, the State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi was sentenced to three more years in prison for the charge of taking bribes of 550,000 USD from the businessman U Mg Wait. 
  • On Tuesday, Dr. Myo Aung and U Ye Min Oo, the Mayor and Vice-Mayor of Naypyidaw in the tenure of the NLD government, were each sentenced to three years in prison. 
  • On Wednesday, the Japanese documentary filmmaker Toru Kubota received another three-year prisojn sentence for violating immigration law. 
  • On Wednesday morning, U San Lwin, the junta Deputy Minister of Legal Affairs and the junta Deputy Attorney Chief, died of suffocation in Naypyidaw. 
  • According to the junta Ministry of Trade and Commerce, It has started the export of over 20,000 tons of high-class rice to Bangladesh. 
  • The junta propaganda team falsely claimed that three pilgrims died and 19 others were injured in Kyaikto in Mon State because they were shot at by the KNLA and PDFs, on Wednesday morning. 
  • In Titain in Chin State the immigration office and cooperative office were burnt to ashes. Due to the mortars shot by junta soldiers, two local people died. 
  • In Hpa An Township in Kayin State, junta soldiers randomly discharged their weapons at 10:00 am on Wednesday, injuring some people including a child and an old woman. 

Summary on 13 October 

  • According to witnesses, it was the wild gunfire of junta soldiers that had killed people in the case at Kyaiktiyoe Pagoda. In response, the military junta accused PDFs of doing it. 
  • In the areas with many revolutionary activities, the junta armed forces have been carrying out air strikes, burning villages and killing people on a daily basis. Consequently, local people have had to run away. 
  • The military junta has been restricting the public’s financial contributions to the revolution in various ways. Consequently, the fund for the revolutionary forces has decreased. No matter what, it is necessary to keep supporting the revolution amidst the oppression.
