The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • On Tuesday morning, an NUG meeting was conducted. There, the NUG Acting President stated that on one hand, they had been following the morals of a fair war and on the other hand, they had been uprooting devil-like military dictatorship.
  • In an interview with the Khmer Times, the NUG Acting President of the NUG said that they could control more than half of the country and if Myanmar could get support from the international community like Ukraine, there would be a faster end to the suffering and troubles faced by the public.
  • The United Nations General Assembly has confirmed the report by the Credentials Committee that said Myanmar’s Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun would be re-appointed on 16 December.
  • Through Dibeyin Township Public Administration, the NUG donated over 374 lakh MMK to the first fire victims in the area.
  • In Yinmabin Township in Sagaing Region, CDM health staff conducted educational talks at the schools under the NUG and gave the children anti-worm tablets.

Revolutionary Activities

  • On Tuesday, a combined rally of local villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Kalay Township in Sagaing Region, the junta army raided and burnt Nanchaung Village. On Tuesday, local PDFs announced that the public should not use the Doewinechaung-Yarzagyo Road.
  • In Monywa Township, local PDFs attacked the junta Pyu Saw Htee members on their way out from Tawpu Village on Monday. Reportedly, there were casualties among the junta members.
  • On the border of Kantbalu Township and Kawlin Township, there was a battle between PDFs and the junta army in Koetaungbo Village at about 1:00 am on Monday. Reportedly, both sides lost members.
  • In Sagaing Township, local PDFs attacked the junta armed forces in Kywelbone Village from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Monday.
  • In Myaung Township, the junta armed forces set fire to HletinU Village and Phwarsaw Village again at about 9:00 am on Tuesday.
  • On Tuesday morning, the junta armed forces set fire to Suetet Village in Kantbalu Township, and Paychaung Village and Badi Village in Taze Township.
  • In Kyaukpyintha Area of Kawlin Township, the junta armed forces burnt over 200 houses in five villages within four days. According to local residents, five dead bodies were found in Paypinchaung Village when the junta army left.
  • In Kalay Township, the junta army set fire to Nanchaung Village on Monday. Reportedly, over 20 houses, including a church, were burnt down.
  • According to prison sources, a political defendant of the Special District Court in Insein Prison was seriously beaten and sent to the prison hospital for medical treatment.
  • In North Dagon’s Myothit Township in Yangon Region, there was a bomb explosion in front of Myayamone Housing on Monday night. Reportedly, a man was injured.
  • In Aungmye Thazan Township in Mandalay Region, the NGU- FF conducted a warning explosion at about 11:00 am on Tuesday. at the Zeus Bar because junta personnel use it and drug dealing goes on there.
  • On Tuesday, Pyigyi Dagun Sayardaw led a protest against the military dictatorship.
  • On Monday, Sue Sha Shin Thant, an LGBT activist, was sentenced to 22 years in prison at Mandalay District Court.
  • On Monday, U Shwe Htoo, a former political prisoner aged 80, was sentenced to 17 years in prison under the anti-terrorism law at the court inside Obo Prison.
  • In Myittha Township, a local PDF used a drone to conduct a bomb attack on Kume Police Station on Saturday. Reportedly, two junta members on watch duty were injured.
  • In Pauk Township in Magwe Region, there was a bomb attack using a drone on the junta army near Kokkosu Village at about 3:00 pm on Monday.
  • In Bago Region, the MP Ko Kyaw Zay Ya was sentenced to 9 more years in prison under four charges at the court inside Pyi Prison.
  • In Launglon Township in Tanintharyi Region, administrator Nyo Aye and Pyusawti Ni Ni, who had threatened PDFs, were shot dead on Monday morning.
  • In Dawei Township, PDFs attacked the junta army gate in Maungmeshaung Village at about 1:30 pm on Sunday. Reportedly, three junta soldiers died and more than five others were injured.
  • In Indiana State in the United States, there were two shows of ‘The Road Not Taken’ by Director Ko Pauk on Sunday.
  • In President U Win Myint and State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi’s trial on Monday, the Vice-President Henry Van Thio stated that they carried out the rental and procurement of helicopters in accordance with procedures.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Beelin Township in Mon State, a combined force of the KNLA and PDFs conducted a mine attack on a military convoy at 6:30 am on Monday. Reportedly, two junta soldiers died and two cars were damaged.
  • According to the spokesperson of the PPST, the junta NSPNC replied that they were not ready yet for the meeting with the seven ethnic armed organisations that signed the NCA to discuss peace freely.
  • In Namsam Township in Shan north, four houses and a monastery in Konetha Village were damaged due to the air strike and heavy artillery by the junta army.
  • Starting from Monday, the junta army and Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) have stopped fighting on the ground but, the junta has continued with aerial patrol and bomb attacks.
  • In a statement for the 2762 Karen New Year which falls on 22 December, the Chief of the Kawthoolei Army stated that it was necessary for Karen people to join hands with those who have the same vision and fight the enemy to gain liberation as soon as possible.

The Military Council

  • On Monday, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing had discussions about bilateral cooperation with the Cambodian Minister to Myanmar in Naypyitaw.
  • On Monday, Kyu Kyu Hla, the wife of the junta leader, joined the opening ceremony for the 32nd annual meeting of Myanmar Maternal and Child Welfare Association in Naypyitaw.
  • On Monday, the second junta leader Soe Win delivered a speech at the graduation of Defence Service Academy Intake (24) in Pyin Oo Lwin.
  • On Monday, there was an online event for the signing of the MoU on bilateral cooperation between Myanmar and Brazil in terms of economy and investment.
  • The junta propaganda media mentioned that the junta social security department had been carrying out healthcare and giving benefits to 1.23 million workers from 116 townships.
  • According to the junta’s Myanmar Investment Commission, 52 countries have made investments in Myanmar in the current fiscal year.
  • On Monday evening, the junta vessel (Kyansittha) arrived back at Yangon after meeting international navies in Kawran Bazarof in Bangladesh.
  • According to the junta Embassy in Myanmar in Seoul, 148 Myanmar workers were sent to South Korea via official agencies of overseas employment on Tuesday.
  • According to Naypyidaw sources, a total of 7,749 government employees have been training every day to give a grand salute to the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing on the 75th Independence Day.

Summary on 14 December

  • The military junta, from the top level to the grassroots level, has been ill-treating the public both physically and mentally on a daily basis. As the NUG President stated, the people have to face devils every day.
  • Whenever the junta armed forces are attacked with mines or in an ambush in upcountry areas, they have attacked nearby villages and set them on fire. Consequently, the number of displaced people has been on the rise everywhere.
