The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • On Thursday, there was a meeting between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public’s Administration and Committees Representing Regional Hluttaws. Reportedly, they discussed matters for the swift and successful end of the revolution.
  • The NUG Union Prime Minister claimed that it would not be an easy task to fight the junta army in political, military and international affairs over the next year, but now the general public must struggle for freedom.
  • On Thursday, the Central Committee on the Interim Preservation of Cultural Heritage announced that 30 cultural sites and buildings in Sagaing Region had been designated as cultural heritage sites and legal action would be taken against any activities that harm those places will be prosecuted under anti-terrorism laws.
  • In a meeting of the International Security Committee at the 77th United Nations General Assembly, Myanmar’s Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun called for sanctions on companies and countries supplying weapons to the Myanmar military.
  • Secretary of the NUG Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration said that it was necessary not to have any gaps in public services.
  • At 7:00 pm on Thursday, the NUG Ministry of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Risks Management organised a round table discussion in honor of International Day for Disaster Reduction.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Sagaing Region, Chaung-U Township PDF warned the public not to use three road sections in the area, including the Monywa-Chaung U Section, starting from Wednesday evening.

  • On the Mandalay-Monywa road section, a military truck with 30 junta soldiers was attacked at about 5:30 pm on Tuesday. According to Brave Heart Army – BHA, two junta soldiers died.

  • In Myingyan Prison, female political prisoners do not get access to proper healthcare and as a result, they have faced life-threatening conditions.
  • In Pauk Township in Magwe Region, the junta army set fire to Thichaung Village on Wednesday night.
  • In Kamayut Township in Yangon Region, the junta army arrested a young man crossing Hledan traffic lights on Thursday afternoon and took him to a nearby bunker.
  • In Hlaing Township, there was a bomb attack using drones at the No. (1) Residence and Investigation Camp at about 6:00 pm on Wednesday.
  • In Mayangone Township, the WHO carried out an explosion at the married housing quarter of the junta army on Wednesday night.
  • In Nattalin Township in Bago Region, PDFs conducted an ambush on the junta army on Tuesday morning. Reportedly, two junta soldiers died.
  • In Tanintharyi Township in Tanintharyi Region, there was an exchange of fire between PDFs and the junta army between Tonemakha Village and Thabawlait Village at 9:30 am on Wednesday. Reportedly, there were casualties among no less than three junta soldiers.
  • On the Myeik-Dawei road section, a convoy of nine military trucks was attacked at 5:45 pm Wednesday. Reportedly, two army vehicles were hit, seven junta soldiers died and four others were injured.
  • In Kayin State, Kun Aung Kyaw Moe, the Chair of Hpa An District Union Solidarity and Development Party, was shot dead at his house on Thursday morning.
  • In Falam in Chin State, a police driver was shot dead near the town’s municipal market on Tuesday night.
  • In Pindaya Township in Shan South, Ko Maung Lay, a social worker in Nwagwe Village, was arrested by the junta army on 18 September. Reportedly, he has been out of contact until now.
  • In Geneva, Switzerland, international labor unions called for the immediate release of democracy activists in Myanmar including 60 members of labour unions.
  • On Wednesday, France expressed its strongest condemnation of the military junta for the new jail sentence handed down to Aung San Suu Kyi.
  • The Karenni Democratic Front announced that a soldier from the junta air defence force had joined the CDM on Wednesday.
  • A short film titled ‘The Road Not Taken’ by Director Ko Pauk was shown in three cities in Japan. Reportedly, it attracted an audience and donations of over 600 lakh MMK.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Hpapun District under the administration of Karen National Union Brigade (5), 19 members of the junta armed forces died in local battles from 7 to 11 October. According to the Mutraw Newsletter, three local people were injured by gunfire from the junta army and Border Guard Force (BGF).
  • In Hpa An District, soldiers in a military convoy wildly fired their weapons on Wednesday morning. Consequently, five people, including three children were injured.
  • On Wednesday, the one-year anniversary of the Karenni National Defence Force (KNDF) Brigade (14) was celebrated.
  • To raise funds for the emergency needs of CDF – Daai in Chin State, there will be a special show performed.

The Military Council

  • On Wednesday, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing joined the selection of military right-hand men from Batch (65) of the Defence Service Academy in Pyin Oo Lwin.
  • In an exclusive train decorated with teak, the junta leader might go from Pyin Oo Lwin to Lashio in Shan State.
  • On Wednesday, the second junta leader Soe Win said that along with the successful implementation of the Kyaukphyu Special Economic Zone Deep Seaport Project, the Myanmar-China Economic Corridor will also be implemented and cooperation between the two countries will be promoted.
  • On Wednesday, there was a meeting between the junta peace team and the delegation from the New Mon State Party led by Vice-Chair in Naypyidaw. Reportedly, they discussed the action plan contained in the 9th JICM beyond 2022.
  • According to the military junta, 64 electricity towers have been blown up so far.
  • The junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun said that legal action would be taken against those who had attacked Kinmunchaung Bus Station at Kyaiktiyo Pagoda under the anti-terrorism law and other existing laws.
