The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The Committee Representing the Yangon Hluttaw (CRYH) said on Saturday that it would make an effort to record the names of Yangon people who lost their lives in the Spring Revolution, those who got injured, those who got arrested unjustly and those who lost their property. It will also carry out rehabilitation activities.
  • On Saturday, the Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment- NUG announced that 5 kinds of stamps would be produced for sale in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Panglong Agreement.

Revolution Activities

  • In North Okkalapa Township of Yangon Region, a combined rally of students’ unions protested against the military dictatorship on Sunday morning, they held a banner against unionism based on the jungle law and burning the union flag under the 2008 Constitution.
  • Somewhere in Yangon on Sunday, a combined rally of Ba-Ka-Tha students’ union, North Dagon Oppressed People Strike Coalition (NDOPSC) and Spring Variety Force marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Hlaingthaya Township, Urban Guerrilla Force sent letters of warning to the shops and restaurants selling military products, along with the list of their names.
  • In North Dagon Township, the ACPLF conducted an attack with bomb launchers on the compound of the police support department at about 8:00 pm Saturday.
  • In South Dagon Township, the SSUG PDF threw a grenade at the junta army security booth in Ward (25) at about 7:00 pm Saturday. Reportedly, there might be casualties among junta soldiers.
  • In South Dagon Township, Freedom from Fear Youths (F2Y) carried out an attack with remote mines on a house and shop of a Ward (72) administrator at about 9:30 pm Saturday.
  • On Saturday evening, youths took to the streets at a crowded place in Yangon and made a 3-finger salute against the military dictatorship.
  • On Sunday morning, the military junta sealed off the house of Thalun Zaung Htet, Chief Editor of Yangon Khit Thit Media, in Sanchaung Township.
  • In Yangon, a political activist named U Aung Thu has been missing for a month. According to his friends, he was arrested by the junta army and his life was in danger.
  • In Sagaing Region, a combined rally of Latbadaung Taung Strike and Monywa General Strike took to the streets on Sunday and protested against the military dictatorship.
  • A 340-day protest, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Yinmabin Township, a rally of Sonechaung villagers conducted a march against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Butalin Township, a combined rally of monks and local residents marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Ayadaw Township, a rally of people led a protest against the military dictatorship on Sunday morning.
  • In Butalin Township, Yangyi Aung PDF conducted a mine attack at the junta army tollbooth on Monywa-Butalin road at about 11:00 am Saturday.
  • At a 371-day protest, Kalay people marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday. They also shared flat dough and boiled peas in honor of the birthday of General Aung San.
  • At 5:00 pm on Saturday, the Monywa-Amyint roadside community sounded motorbike horns against the military dictatorship.
  • In Sagaing, Generation – Z hung an anti-junta banner at Thiri Mingala overhead bridge on Saturday.
  • In Yinmabin Township, a combined rally of 3 villages marched against the military dictatorship on Saturday.
  • In Tantsi Township, a General Strike rally protested against the military dictatorship on Saturday evening, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • In Dibeyin Township, there was an anti-junta banner somewhere in Saibyin on Saturday.
  • In Pale Township, a rally of local people expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship on Saturday evening.
  • In Yinmabin Township, the junta army raided Aung Moe village on Friday and set fire to over 20 houses.
  • In Minkin Township, the local PDF confiscated goods worth 100 lakh MMK, which had been sent via waterway to the junta army and Pyusawti stationing in Panset village, and shared them with fire victims in the area.
  • On Sunday, there was an event on the completion of military training by the Kalaywa Township PDF.
  • In Pyigyi Dagun Township, Mandalay people organized a salute event in Mandala Dagun Park in honor of 107th birthday of General Aung San.
  • In honor of the birthday of General Aung San, Mandalay People’s Defence Force (MDY PDF) members got vaccinated for COVID-19 on Sunday.
  • On Sunday morning, a rally led by Pyigyi Dagun Sayardaw protested against the military dictatorship.
  • In honor of the birthday of General Aung San, Maittila army families donated 250,000 MMK to Wundwin PDF to help bring the downfall of the military dictatorship and the emergence of a federal union.
  • In Patheingyi Township, the text on some tombs of those who lost lives in Spring Revolution got damaged in Ayeyaiknyein cemetery. Reportedly, those photos went viral on social media.
  • In Pyigyi Dagun Township, Black Wolf PDF-MDY conducted a hand-mine attack on a tax office on Saturday afternoon.
  • In Pekone Township in Shan South, the public’s administration and local PDFs went to wards and villages on Friday and Saturday, and warned them not to sell military products.
  • On Sunday, a refresher course for 7 local forces was conducted by Shan North PDF.
  • In Pyinmana in Nay Pyi Taw, a combined force of urban guerrillas set off explosions at the general administration department, the USDP office and the Myawaddy Bank on Saturday. Reportedly, four junta soldiers died.
  • In Myaing Township of Magwe Region, a rally of Basic Education General Strike Committee and local people, protected by PDFs, marched against the military dictatorship on Saturday, holding anti-junta slogans.
  • In Pakkoku Township, local people expressed their objection to the military dictatorship on Saturday.
  • In Pauk Township, Pyusawti members arrested and killed Mg Chan Aye from Kya-Oh village for no apparent reason on Friday.
  • In memory of General Aung San, Myaing Township PDF sang ‘blood oath’ on Sunday.
  • On the border of Chin State and Magwe Region, a military troop of 300 junta soldiers was attacked with mines by a combined force of PDFs on Saturday. Reportedly, about 20 junta soldiers died.
  • Mindat Township public’s administration announced that those who had taken part in a martial arts competition organized by the military junta were national traitors.
  • In Thegone Township of Bago Region, a combined force of PDFs attacked the junta army stationed near Myatheindan Pagoda on Saturday. Reportedly, 5 junta soldiers died.
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, a rally of students’ union expressed their desire against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Dawei, youth and students conducted an indoors strike against the military dictatorship on Saturday night.
  • In Longlone Township, youth conducted a campaign calling on responsible personnel not to sell Telenor to a junta linked company and not to hand over user information to the military junta.
  • Starting from Saturday morning, political prisoners from Dawei Jail went on hunger strike for the second time.
  • In Longlone Township and Yebyu Township, 19 villagers were arrested by the junta armed forces on Thursday and Saturday night.
  • In Pulaw Township, there were two bomb explosions near the administration office and the Sa-Ya-Ha office on Sunday.
  • According to GZ-21 PDF (LOIKAW), an officer from the junta army donated 4 lakh MMK to them.
  • Karenni State Police Force announced that a case had been opened for the incident in which the junta army killed two people from Pajel village by burning them.
  • On Saturday, there was an attack in Metaw Thale village where junta soldiers and Pyusawti members had been stationed.
  • In Nammati in Kachin State, local people conducted a union day strike on Saturday.
  • In Yay Township of Mon State, a combined force of local PDF had an introduction session with the public on Sunday.
  • In Thatone, the junta army sealed off the restaurants and houses of those supporting CRPH, NUG and PDF.
  • In Bogale Township of Ayeyarwaddy Region, a combined force of three local PDFs blew up a MyTel telecom tower and related equipment in Kwinchaungle village at 2:30 am Sunday.
  • 694 CSOs in Myanmar signed against the plan to sell Telenor and its database of 18 million users to a junta related company.
  • On the 107th birthday of General Aung San, PRA and PDF members conducted an event somewhere in the forest.
  • In Mizzoram Township in India, MSU OPD clinic was opened with CDM doctors to offer health care services to Myanmar people staying there.
  • In South Korea, a rally led by Degu Sayardaw marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday. They also showed their support for PDF, NUG and CDM.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • The KNU announced that the attendance of the former chair of KNU Regiment (6) to the Union Day celebration by the military junta did not mean that he had done so as a representative of the KNU.
  • On Friday, the Mon Pyi Thit Party called on local people not to go to school and work on Mon National Day, the 16th of February.
  • According to Rakhine-based media, 46 people, who had been accused of having contact with the AA, were released by the military junta. However, there were still 70 such people to be released.

The Military Council

  • At the Union Day ceremony on Saturday, junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that peace would be sought through negotiations in accordance with democracy.
  • On Union Day, the military junta declared an amnesty for over 800 prisoners all over the country, but not for any political prisoners.
  • Starting from Saturday, the junta YBS buses have been running with new numbers.
  • The junta ministry of health announced that there was a record number of over 1700 COVID-19 cases on Union Day alone.
  • Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, the junta Yangon heart out-patient department will be closed for 5 days, starting from 14th February.
  • In Ngape Township of Magwe Region, the junta religious officer announced that permission for religious talks must be obtained from the relevant personnel first, in accordance with the laws and procedures for religious talks.

Summary on 13 February

  • The military junta spent over 90 billion MMK for a grand ceremony on Union Day to make it look as if the country was at peace. However, it was not recognized by the people or the international community. Therefore, the expectation of the junta leader was not met and it was just a waste of the country’s budget.
  • On Union Day, over 800 prisoners were released all over the country, but none of them were political prisoners. Despite international calls for the release of political prisoners, the military junta just did the opposite.
  • According to AAPP, over 9000 people have been unjustly arrested and more than 1500 people have lost their lives throughout the country since the military coup. Despite the daily violence of the junta army, various anti-junta movements still have a lot of momentum.
