The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • On Wednesday, the Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) announced that they had been joining hands with the international community and parliaments to take action against the military junta.
  • On Wednesday, there was a meeting between Union Ministers of the NUG and the Myanmar community in the US at Win Shwe War Hall in New York. Reportedly, they stated that they had been making an effort to reach the destination of a federal democracy as soon as possible.
  • In the annual report on their activities, U Thein Oo, Minister of Judiciary Affairs-NUG, stated that there would be public courts soon to take action against war crimes.

Revolution Activities

  • In Yinmabin Township of Sagaing Region, Shwe Nwe Aye Rally made a dawn protest against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • As a 340-day protest, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday morning, holding anti-junta signs.
  • In a village of Shwebo Township, there was a march against the military dictatorship on Thursday morning.
  • In Tamu, local PDF attacked the junta army stationed in Myenigone Monastery on Wednesday afternoon. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers and a Pyusawti member died.
  • In Wetlet Township, a combined force of local PDFs blew up the Yehtwet toll booth on Shwebo-Mandalay Road at 9:45 pm Wednesday.
  • In Yinmabin Township, the junta army shot mortars towards Bantbwe Village no less than 15 times at 8:00 pm Wednesday.
  • In Sagaing Township, Pyusawti members set fire to Thazilay Village for the second time at about 8:30 pm Wednesday. Reportedly, almost the whole village was burnt to ashes.
  • According to PDF Kalay, one of their members was arrested by the junta army in a clearance operation on Tuesday morning and he was burnt to death.
  • In Bazundaung Township of Yangon Region, there was a grenade attack on the pro-military YMBA Headquarters at about 7:00 pm Wednesday. Reportedly, the junta army shot dead a young man, accusing him of doing it.
  • According to Yangon Federal Army-YFA on Thursday, the young man who had been shot dead in the attack on YMBA Headquarters was just a civilian, not a member of the revolution forces.
  • In Thingangyun Township, female students of Dagon University hung an anti-junta banner on Thursday.
  • In Thamai, youth from YGR hung an anti-junta banner at the traffic police office at Pawdawmu Pagoda Traffic Lights on Thursday.
  • In Hleku Township, the junta army arrested a man from Phaunggyi Village, who had been providing rations to PDFs, on Thursday morning due to an informer to the junta. Reportedly, they also confiscated the rations.
  • In Alone Township, there were 2 bomb explosions on the corner of Kwingyaung on Thursday noon.
  • In Hlaingthaya Township, there was a bomb explosion near administration office of Ward (10) on Thursday afternoon. Reportedly, a man was injured.
  • According to Indagaw PDF, they conducted bomb explosions near Darpain Police Station and on Hospital Road in Hleku Township on Wednesday morning.
  • In North Dagon Township, there would be more attacks with 30 mines on Union Road, according to Little Heroes.
  • On Wednesday, 8 revolution forces, including Yangon-based University Students’ Union, conducted a red-paint campaign against the military dictatorship.
  • Sanchaung General Strike and Labour Alliance expressed their objection to artists and vocalists entertaining at the junta pandals.
  • In Palait of Mandalay Region, a local PDF opened gunfire on the middle gate of No. (14) Security Force at 3:00 am Thursday. Reportedly, 4 members of the junta police died.
  • In Nahtogyi Township, local PDF shot mortars four times at the junta army in Suphyugone Village at 7:20 pm Wednesday. Reportedly, there might be casualties among the junta soldiers.
  • In Saw Township of Magwe Region, a junta helicopter fired on Kyakat Village at 8:45 am Thursday.
  • In Yesagyo Township, a combined rally of local PDFs marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday morning.
  • In Tilin, local PDF opened gunfire on the junta army led by Captain Nay Lin Aung drinking alcohol and having fun at an election commission office on Wednesday. Reportedly, 5 junta soldiers died.
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, a combined rally of students, women, youth and LGBTs took to the streets and protested against the military dictatorship on Thursday morning, raising a banner against the junta Thingyan.
  • In Kanbauk Area of Yebyu Township, local people conducted a silent strike against the junta water festival on Thursday.
  • In Dawei Township, local residents conducted a silent strike on Thursday.
  • In Thayetchaung Township, youth carried out a Thingyan protest against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In Myeik, some young people conducted a paper strike against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In Dawei, there was a bomb explosion near the junta Construction Pandal at 10:00 am Thursday.
  • At 6:00 pm Wednesday, Bago PDF conducted a grenade attack on the security gate of the Regional Central Pandal.
  • In Bogale of Ayeyarwaddy Region, Ma Thuzar, a pro-military woman, was shot dead on Thursday morning.
  • In Ywangan Township of Shan South, junta soldiers and Pyusawti members set fire to 2 houses in Hlwasin Village on Wednesday morning.
  • In Chin State, a second sergeant from Matupi Police Station left the junta station on 11 April and joined the CDF.
  • According to the Peacock Generation group comprising students and youth, they entertained a PDF camp and a village on Wednesday.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Phapun District under KNU, the junta army shot mortars intentionally into Toselo Village at 11:20 am Wednesday. Reportedly, 4 people, including 2 children and an old person, were injured.
  • In Pinlebu of Sagaing Region, KIA and PDF took control of the town in early April. Due to many air strikes by the junta army, they had to let go of it. Reportedly, 30 junta soldiers died, some others including officers were caught alive and weapons were confiscated.
  • In Loikaw Township of Karenni State, the KNDF warned local people to move elsewhere as soon as possible as there might be more military tension in the area.
  • In Dimawso Township, the junta army wildly shot mortars into a village at 1:00 am Thursday.
  • On their one-year anniversary on Wednesday, CNO/CNA announced that they would fight together with the whole country for federal democracy, not only for Chin State and Chin ethnic people.

The Military Council

  • On the first day of the water festival, the second junta leader Soe Win attended the opening ceremony of the junta defense forces pandal in Nay Pyi Taw.
  • The junta Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed their objection to the report on human rights by the U.S Foreign Ministry, which covered over 190 countries and regions.
  • According to the junta Ministry of Social Welfare, they would provide the needy in Yangon with rice and flour donated by India.
  • The military junta instructed municipal staff by force that one family member per household must play with water at the junta pandals in Yangon.
  • According to the junta communication on Wednesday, 16 people, allegedly those who would conduct explosions at 7 places in Yangon during Thingyan, were arrested together with weapons.
  • In Myawaddy Township of Karen State, the junta armed forces were attacked by KNU/ KNLA and PDF on 10 April in Laykaykaw New Town. According to the junta media, the military junta had to use the support of air strikes.

Summary on 14 April

  • In recent days, the military junta shot at people intentionally and frequently, accusing them of planting bombs. They also made lawless arrests to those near the explosions although they had nothing to do with the incidents.
  • Throughout the country, the public made a silent strike against the junta water festival. There were very few people playing water at the junta pandals.
  • In Thingyan, the armed revolution gained momentum all over the country and so did protests against the military dictatorship. The number of casualties among members of the junta armed forces and pro-military people increased.
