The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • According to the Military Headquarters under the Ministry of Defence- NUG on Sunday, revolutionary forces conducted an attack via a 40mm grenade on a junta troop of 40 soldiers in Walonepyun Village of Madayar Township in Mandalay Region.
  • The Ministry of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Risks Management- NUG (MOHADRM) warned of the continuation of heavy rainfall in 5 states and regions including Bago.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Sagaing Region, a combined rally of Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • In Wetlet Township, Burmese Students’ Union, in cooperation with the public, marched for the end of the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • In Kalay Township, the junta army killed and burnt a mother and her child near Satkat Village on the evening of 12 August.
  • In Yinmabin Township, 15 junta soldiers died whereas 2 PDF members lost lives in battles for 7 days.
  • In Monywa, there were bomb attacks on the junta regional police office and the junta general administration office at 5:30 pm Saturday.
  • In the eastern part of Wetlet Township, the junta army conducted an aerial bombing on Paukkan Village at 3:40 pm Sunday. Reportedly, 4 people were injured.
  • In Myaung Township, the CDSOM, a local PDF, simultaneously attacked the police station and general administration office on Sunday morning.
  • In Yangon Region, North Okkalapa Township Students’ Union shared anti-junta brochures on Monday.
  • In Thabaitgyin Township of Mandalay Region, there were three mine attacks on the junta army at about 7:00 am Sunday. Reportedly, there were a large number of casualties among junta soldiers.
  • In Thagyin Village of Ngazun Township, 4 people, including a member of the Union Solidarity and Development Party, were shot dead at about 3:00 pm Sunday.
  • In Myaing Township of Magwe Region, there was a bomb attack via drone on Thayetkwa (Pyu) Village at 2:30 pm Saturday. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers died and many others were injured.
  • In Myaing Township, the members of Myaing Villages’ Revolution Force have been in need of blankets and mosquito nets.
  • In Gantgaw Township, 2 civilians lost their lives and 4 others got injured as the mortars shot by the junta army fell and exploded.
  • In Minhla Township of Bago Region, a local PDF attacked a car of junta soldiers at about 11:00 am Sunday.
  • In Dawei Township of Taninthayi Region, PDFs arrested a Pyusawti member from Hainda Village on Saturday.
  • In Yatsauk Township of Southern Shan State, allegedly a Pyusawti leader from Indaw was shot dead at his house at about 9:00 pm Sunday.
  • In Thanglang Township of Chin State, the junta army carried out an air strike on Kwarho Village on Monday morning. Reportedly, the church and some houses were damaged.
  • In Bangkok of Thailand, the International Bago Division Association organized a fund-raising football match on Sunday.

Ethnic Armed Organisations (EAOs)

  • In Sagaing Region, a combined force of the KIA, PDF and ABSDF conducted a guerrilla attack on 2 junta army trucks carrying rations between Indaw and Kathar at about 1:00 am Monday. Reportedly, there were fatalities among junta soldiers.
  • The Ta’ang National Liberation Army warned non-CDM staff to join the CDM. According to the focal person of the TNLA’s communication team, they have not taken any action yet as the specified period is not due.
  • In Kyonedoe Township of Kayin State, the junta army fired mortars to Kayin Kyaukyar Village at about 10:00 am Saturday. Reportedly, two people were seriously injured and people’s property got damaged.
  • In Karenni State, there was a battle near Mount Loimaw on the Loikaw-Shadaw Road at about 8:00 am on 11 August. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers died and many others were injured.
  • In Fruso Township, a combination of the Karenni Revolution Forces attacked a junta army camp in Tithawku Village on Saturday evening. Reportedly, the junta army suffered great losses and a large number of weapons were confiscated.
  • In Chin State, the Chin National Army and the Chin Defence Force attacked junta army Regiment (268) based in Falam. Reportedly, 6 junta soldiers died, 8 others were injured and weapons were confiscated.
  • In Kyaikmayaw Township of Mon State and Kyonedoe Township of Kayin State, there were bomb attacks via drone on the junta inspection gates at two bridges on 11 August. Reportedly, 6 junta soldiers died.
  • In Muse Township of Northern Shan State, a militia under the junta army arrested four locals and killed one of them.
  • The Communication Team of the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) called on the public in Shan State to use social media effectively in the modern age.

The Military Council

  • In Vientiane in Laos, the new junta Minister of Home Affairs stated that it was necessary for ASEAN members to promote information sharing and cooperation free from political prejudice when dealing with drug issues.
  • According to the junta Central Bank, they sold nearly 800,000 USD to those going abroad for work, those getting medical treatment abroad and those studying abroad over a period of more than two months.
  • On Saturday, the junta Central Bank stated that a USD was worth over 3,700 MMK because of people monopolising the foreign currency market and there would be action against them.
  • According to a confidential report to Naypyi Taw Military Office, only 132 junta soldiers were left in the whole the Ka-Ma-Ya (114) Regiment based in Naungcho of Shan State.
  • The military junta instructed non-CDM staff in Shan State to as a reserve unit of the junta army.
  • In Myeik of Taninthayi Region, the junta traffic police have given 20,000 MMK to Pyusawti members as wage and made those people in plain clothes arrest motorbikes.

Summary on 15 August

  • The junta army has had great losses throughout the country due to the battles with PDFs and ethnic revolutionary forces. So, they have arranged to use non-CDM staff as their reserve force. In other words, the junta army with lesser resources has used various ways to bolster its forces.
