The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • On Monday, there was an opening ceremony for the NUG Ministry of Foreign Affairs Washington D.C Office in the United States. At the ceremony the US Assistant Foreign Minister Uzra Zeya said the US would keep standing up for the Myanmar people.
  • The Acting President of the NUG said that it is necessary to make an effort in building alliances both locally and regionally with neighboring countries to celebrate the victory of the Spring Revolution.
  • In a government meeting, the Acting NUG President expressed his sincere thanks to the Chin National Front and the Chin Defence Forces leading the People’s Defensive War in Chin State.
  • On Tuesday, there was a meeting between the NUG Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration and the People’s Administrative Teams from Sagaing, Magwe, Bago, Tanintharyi and Ayeyarwady regions.
  • The NUG Ministry of Human Rights announced that the male junta prison officers from Mandalay Prison had beaten over 100 female political prisoners in the sleeping hall.
  • The NUG Minister of Home Affairs and Immigration claimed that the matter of disarmament following the revolutionary period would not be a big challenge according to the country’s situation.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Kalay in Sagaing Region, Ngwe Zin, a former army captain and an assistant director, was shot dead in Taungtha Ward on Tuesday morning.
  • In Kani Township, KLG PDF attacked six vehicles carrying rations for the junta army. Reportedly, five junta soldiers died.
  • In Shwebo Township, the junta army set fire to Kyaukmyint Village and Tintte Village. Reportedly, more than 600 houses were burnt down.
  • On Tuesday, a combined rally of local villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Pale, there was a mine attack on junta soldiers on their way out on a secret patrol on Monday evening. Reportedly, four junta soldiers died.
  • In Pakkoku Township in Magwe Region, there was an attack on the junta army stationed at the school in Pandiechone Village on Monday. Reportedly, three junta soldiers were seriously injured.
  • Somewhere in a liberated area, there was a protest by the Maymyo General Strike and GZ21 protested against the military dictatorship on Tuesday.
  • In Minhla Township in Bago Region, Soe Naing, a hundred-household leader who had informed the junta army about the location of local PDF camps, was shot dead.
  • In Kawkareik Township under the control of the Karen National Union Brigade (6) in Kayin State, the junta armed forces fired heavy artillery towards some local villages in the Wawlay Area on Monday night.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • According to the Chin Defence Forces, Linn Htet Aung and Aung Moe, two fully-armed soldiers from the junta armed forces, defected to them.
  • In Waingmaw Township Kachin State, the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) arrested the Second Commander of the junta army Ka-Ma-Ya (389) and his team on the Sandone-Kanpitee Road.
  • In Nay Pyi Taw, a delegation of the New Mon State Party led by Vice-Chair Naing Aung Min had peace talks with the junta team led by Lieutenant General Yar Pyae.
  • Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) sent a letter to the Shan State Progressive Party- SSPP/SSA not to recruit Ta’ang people for military service.
  • According to the statement from the KNU, over 100 schools have been closed due to fighting in the district of Kalelwitu in the Kawthoolei Administrative Area since the coup resulting in no less than 30,000 students losing the right to education.

The Military Council

  • After the adoption of the junta’s Political Parties Registration Law, only four parties have applied for registration in 19 days.
  • According to data from the junta Ministry of Trade and Commerce, cement exporters from Bangladesh are supplying the demand for cement in Myanmar.
  • According to Shwe Phe Myay Media, the junta army attacked KIA Brigade (9) near Komone Village between Namphatkha and Muse with helicopters.
  • The junta propaganda team announced that three people had lost their lives and nine others had been injured due to the mine explosion set off by PDFs at the train station in Nyaunglebin Township in Bago Region.
  • The junta propaganda team stated that the junta army had taken control of the PDF camp near Yecho Village in Pakkoku Township in Magwe Region and confiscated a large number of weapons.
  • Representatives of the New Mon State Party and the junta National Unity and Peace Coordination Committee met in Naypyitaw to discuss the peace process and amending the 2008 Constitution.
  • In Parami Ward in the Alegyun Area of Myeik Township, the junta army arrested and questioned a couple who had given out naan breads and chickpeas on the birthday of General Aung San on Monday.
