The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • According to the Communication Team, the junta army conducted their very first aerial bombing on Nabule Area near Dawei Special Economic Zone in Taninthayi Region.
  • Under the invitation of the CRPH/ NUG Support Group (Queensland), the Minister of Human Rights- NUG and the Deputy Minister went to Brisbane, the capital of Queensland State, in Australia by air on Saturday.
  • The Deputy Minister of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Risks Management- NUG told Mizzima that they had discussed with the ICNCC about responses to possible circumstances in Chin State and communication networks have already been set up.
  • The NUG will share the allocated fund of a million USD for storm-hit areas with respective teams.

Revolutionary Activities

  • The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs announced on Sunday that it is getting ready to carry out rescue activities for the victims of Cyclone Mocha.
  • In Monywa of Sagaing Region, there was a surprise attack on the junta army stationed in the Economics University. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died.
  • In Kani Township, the junta army has been invading local villages on the western bank of Chindwin River amidst the heavy rain of Cyclone Mocha. Reportedly, local people have had to run away.
  • In San Francisco in the US, Spring Revolution groups protested against the Chinese Government, which has been joining hands with the military junta and oppressing Myanmar people, in front of the Chinese Consulate.
  • In Mawlight Township, the PDF attacked the junta army camp in Htawtha Village.
  • In South Korea, the team of We-Love-Mother-Land (Korea) organized a football match to raise fund for the Spring Revolution.
  • In big cities of South Korea, Myanmar youth will organize a photo show on Myanmar’s affairs to raise fund for the IDPs.
  • At the time of the Super Cyclone Mocha in the country, the junta army dropped bombs from fighter jet on Nabule Area in Yebyu Township of Taninthayi Region.
  • To help anti-junta revolutionary forces, a mini album was released on 10 May, containing 7 songs sung by the revolutionaries themselves.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • The Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO) stated that despite assassinations by gunfire, they will not stop humanitarian assistance activities.
  • In KyarIn Seikgyi Township of Kayin State, a combined force of the KNLA attacked a junta convoy carrying rations. Reportedly, 8 junta soldiers died and 5 others were caught alive.
  • According to a spokesperson of the Arakan Army, the ULA/AA managed to evacuate 101,999 people from the low-land areas and coastal areas at most at risk of being hit by Cyclone Mocha.
  • In Hakha Township of Chin State, there were three battles between the junta army and local CDFs near Zokwar Village on Saturday. According to a representative of the Chin National Army, 11 junta soldiers died.
  • In Mone Township under Karen National Union Brigade (3), the junta army committed a massacre in Nyaungbintha Village. Reportedly, the dead bodies of 20 people were found.

The Military Council

  • In a meeting with junta soldiers in Kyaingtone on Friday, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that they must eliminate PDFs completely.
  • In an emergency meeting on natural disaster risk management on Sunday morning, the junta leader claimed that he had been constantly watching and fulfilling people’s needs in real-time to save every Myanmar citizen and overcome the storm with the least losses.
  • To promote trade and establish a China-Myanmar Innovation Demonstration Park, there was a discussion between the military junta and Guangxi Province.

Summary on 15 May

  • The people have protested against China for interfering in the home affairs of Myanmar and helping the military junta crack down on revolutionary forces. If China continues to do more like this, it may hurt its self-interest in the country.
  • The junta leader claimed that it would try hard to overcome the storm and save every citizen. In reality, the junta armed forces have been conducting invasions into the storm-hit areas. Consequently, local people have had to run away in heavy rain and strong wind.
