The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • At 9:00 am Friday, there was a meeting between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration and Extended Public Administration Teams. Reportedly, they discussed the challenges at the grassroots-level and responded to inquiries.
  • In the area under Karen National Union-KNU Brigade (6), there was an event on completion of basic military training (1/2022) by Black Leopard Force on Friday. Reportedly, it was attended by the Deputy Minister of Women, Youth and Children-NUG.

Revolution Activities

  • Kalay PDF called for contributions to their campaign for an RPG Launcher worth 500 lakh MMK.
  • In Sagaing Region, a combined rally of villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship on Saturday morning.
  • On Friday, Myanmar Royal Dragon Army announced that although Ministry of Defence-NUG had received 300,000 USD to support 100 special members of the MRDA, they had been giving excuses to transfer it.
  • At about 2:00 pm Friday, local PDFs attacked with an RPG a junta fleet of vessels on the Chindwin River. According to Chindwin GZ Defense Force, a military ship was hit.
  • In Monywa, the junta armed forces were attacked with mines at 5:30 pm Friday. Reportedly, 8 junta soldiers died.
  • In Myinmu, local PDF conducted a bomb attack via drone on the junta army in charge of security at the Myanmar Economic Bank at 4:30 pm Friday.
  • In Monywa, there was a grenade attack on a military truck near the Home for the Aged at about 5:00 pm Friday. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers died.
  • In Yinmabin Township, the junta army in Bantbway Village was attacked with mines on Thursday. Reportedly, 15 junta soldiers died.
  • In Butalin Township, the junta army fired mortars and raided Damtaing Village on Saturday morning. Consequently, an old woman lost her life and so did two members of a local PDF while rescuing other villagers.
  • In Kyunghla Township, local PDFs issued a list of dos and don’ts for those who travel in Thafamseit Dam Area both on land and by waterways.
  • In Chaung-U Township, the junta armed forces set fire to local villages along Chaung U-Pakkoku Road on Saturday morning. Reportedly, a woman was hit with a mortar shell and injured.
  • In the east of Wetlet Township, a contingent of 100 junta soldiers invaded the area on Friday morning. Reportedly, they used local people as human shields along the way. Moreover, they set fire to 2 villages.
  • As a part of the Interim Education Programme, the S & C opened more CDM schools in Sagaing Region.
  • In Kyimyindine Township of Yangon Region, two unexploded hand-made bombs were found near a fence and in front of the local court at about 8:00 am Saturday.
  • On Friday night, there was an attack with 107mm projectiles on the junta air force in Mingaladone Township.
  • In Ngazun Township of Mandalay Region, the couple who act as junta administration clerks in Junkan Village were shot dead on their way back after shopping on Friday morning.
  • On Thursday, there was an event on completion of basic military training (2/2022) by Kyaukse PDF and Farmer Revolution Force (LPDF).
  • In Magwe of Magwe Region, there was a gunfire into the junta traffic police office at about 8:00 pm Friday. Reportedly, police officer Sein Win died on the spot and some young people were arrested by the junta army.
  • In Letbadan of Bago Region, Ko Aung Zaw Min, a shopkeeper of guitars and glasses, was arrested by the junta armed forces on 7 September. Reportedly, he was ill-treated and lost his life at the local police station.
  • In Kyaikto Township of Mon State, there was another attack on the junta army in Kinmunchaung Village on the way to Kyaiktiyoe Pagoda on Saturday morning. In response, junta soldiers fired mortars into the neighbouring area.
  • The Support Team from the Land of Kimchi provided 12 lakh MMK for the 2,000 bullets Challenge of Pao Revolution force.
  • In Mobye of Shan South, the junta army randomly shot at travelers without any battle on Friday afternoon.
  • Min Thiha Zaw, Deputy Investigator from Kayah State Special Investigation Force, has been missing on his way back to his parents recently. Reportedly, he was arrested by local PDFs.
  • According to Assistance Association for Political Prisoners-AAPP, 2,356 people have lost their lives until 14 October due to violent activities of the junta army after the military coup.
  • To support the war refugees from all over the country, there would be a fund-raising performance show named Stars Never Fall at 7:30 am Sunday.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In the second meeting with the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing, New Mon State Party suggested that it was necessary to have an all-inclusive meeting among Myanmar’s Army, National League for Democracy, political parties and ethnic armed organizations to restore peace as soon as possible.
  • In Kyaikto Township under Karen National Union-KNU Brigade (1), machinegun fire of the junta army killed 3 women pilgrims and injured 13 people including a 5-year old child at Kyaiktiyoe Pagoda.
  • In KyarIn Seikgyi Township under KNU Brigade (6), there was a fighting between the KNLA and the junta army from Koatkwa Camp on Thursday. Reportedly, a junta soldier died and two others were injured.
  • On Friday, the KNU sent a congratulatory statement on the 34th anniversary of Democratic Party for a New Society-DPNS.
  • In Chi Hway Township of Kachin State, the Kachin Independence Army attacked the inspection gate at Shangaw Bridge at about 7:00 am Saturday. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers died.

The Military Council

  • On the 7th anniversary of the National Ceasefire Agreement-NCA on Saturday, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing delivered a video message saying that the 2008 Constitution must be amended and signaled they would retain power with such an incentive to the ethnic groups.
  • On Saturday, the junta leader stated that the NCA was an essential part of the peace process in Myanmar.
  • After 3 days of meeting between the junta peace team and the New Mon State Party, they signed their agreements.
  • On Friday, there was a meeting between the junta Union Minister of Investment and International Economic Relations and Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar in Nay Pyi Taw to promote bilateral investment and economic relations.
  • In an interview with local media, the junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun said that they had been seeking procurement of fuel oil from Russia with a long-term contract.
  • On Friday, there was a graduation of Police Officer Training Batch (108). Reportedly, Present on the occasion was the junta Chief of Police Zin Min Htet.
  • According to the junta Myanmar Railway Department, they got started with their aircon train service from Yangon to Mawlamyein on Friday.
  • The junta Central Bank of Myanmar announced that they would sell security bonds to control the inflation rate.
  • According to the junta Myanmar Embassy to Japan, Japanese firms provided 170 job offers to Myanmar workers.
  • The junta Overseas Employment Agency announced that they would send more than 300 Myanmar workers to South Korea in the upcoming week.

  • In Mandalay, a rally of patriotic monks protested against the attack on Kyaiktiyoe pilgrims on Friday.
  • The military junta claimed that PDF had attacked a passenger car from Titain of Chin State to Kalay on Friday evening, injuring some passengers including a child.
  • In Sanchaung Township of Yangon Region, the military junta started to set up a double bunker on the pavement in front of Myenigone Traffic Lights and on the corner of Padonema Park.
  • On Saturday, 6 military ships with rations and weapons left Mandalay for Bamaw.

Summary on 16 October

  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing claimed again that the 2008 Constitution must be amended. Despite his incentive, he is not trustworthy as he is a power-hungry man.
