NUG

  • NUG stated that US$608,641 (1,065 million MMK) was divided and provided to each of the defense forces with the support of families around the world.
  • At the International Court of Justice (ICJ), Netherlands, the hearing of Rohingya genocide case in Myanmar sued by Gambia will be heard on Monday and Shwe War Yaung Sayardaw Ashin Htarwara (Norway) arrived in the Netherlands on February 18 to support the NUG.

Revolution Activities

  • Japan Mitsubishi Corporation’s announcement to withdraw from Yetagun natural gas project which has less profits and is about to end was welcomed by Friends of the Earth Japan (FoE Japan) and Justice for Myanmar (JFM).
  • Under the leadership of Depayin women group, the leader of the main rally of Latpantaungtaung, a rally youth leader from the northwest plain region, and Monywa youth association joined and went on strike against the military junta on February 18.
  • A rally of Kalay people and students staged a 376 day demonstration in Sagaing region on February 18.
  • The rally of different villages from east Yinmarpin and north Salingyi went on strike on February 18.
  • The military troops stationed at Government Technological High School (GTHS), Tamu and the allied group of Tamu PDF No (4), (2), BSO and ABSDF clashed two times, killing 10 soldiers, stated PDF No. 4 TSG.
  • In Tamu district, Sagaing region, the military soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members who launched an offensive were attacked and not less than 2 were injured, Kuki National Organization-Army stated.
  • In a village in Kani township, Sagaing region, the villagers went on a night strike, raising flags and sending loving kindness in order to make PDFs safe and the detained leaders and the public healthy last night.
  • In Pale township, Sagaing region, Chaung Oo village was raided and set on fire by the military soldiers and the whole village was burnt to ashes, according to locals.
  • The main rally of Kalay went on strike as 376 days against the military junta.
  • Methae village which is about a mile away from Depayin town was attacked with heavy artillery by the military soldiers at around 1:30 p.m. on February 17. The local houses were destroyed and looted by the soldiers, one of the local PDFs said.
  • In the south of Kalay township, Sagaing region, the military troops stationed at Yangyiaung village were attacked and 6 soldiers died, stated the Chinn Defense Force, Kalay, Kabaw and Gantgaw (CDF-KKG).
  • In Pharkant, Kachin township, the people went on strike against the military junta and supported the KIA, PDF and NUG.
  • In Thahton town, Mon State, the office of the head of the village was attacked at about 11 o’clock and 12 o’clock in the morning, stated MTHSF.
  • In Thandwe town, Rakhine State, Ma Shwe Yee Win, a two-year-old daughter of Ma Nyein Ei Phyo who was alleged and forcibly arrested by the junta died at Thandwe prison yesterday evening, according to her family and locals.
  • In Bago region, the military soldiers heading to Thayetmyaung village from Yekyi village were attacked by mines by Nattalin PDF (Phoenix PDF) at 4:30 p.m. on February 17 and 5 soldiers died, according to the news.
  • In Taninthary region, Longlone BEHS Students’ Union went on strike against the military junta, holding anti-junta banners on February 18 morning.
  • The two students of Dawei university were arrested and sentenced to 7 years in prison with hard labour under 505 (A) section because they donated 5000 kyat to war refugees.
  • In Longlone township, Dawei district, the protest against the junta was led by Lonlone BEHS Students’ Union, said the protest leaders.
  • Bombs exploded in 82 camp, Mingalardon township, Yangon and Tharkayta township yesterday and also near the MCDC staff housing tonight, according to locals.
  • In Naungpinthar village, Naungtone township, Ayeyarwaddy region, a volunteer, Ko Aung Naing Oo, was arrested and tortured by more than 20 soldiers at 11 p.m. last night. It is reported that he is now in hospital.
  • The groups under the military inspected and sealed off Pancelo’s house which is situated in Pyi Pan Nyou street, No. (41) quarter, North Dagon township, Yangon, the local sources told Mizzima.
  • In Naungto village, Myingyan township, military soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee beat two villagers to death in front of the family members, according to locals.
  • The equipment of the Wanmathu sub-township hospital, Mindat township, Chin State, were set on fire and destroyed by junta soldiers, according to local people.
  • Cherry Htet, the State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s bodyguard, a second lieutenant, who was sued under 505 (A) section, gave evidence and said she was innocent during a court hearing on February 17, according to sources related to the court.

EAOs

  • It is reported that a policeman, Soe Hein Thu joined the CDM with full weapons at Loikaw, Karenni state.
  • At Moebye battle at the border of Shan and Karenni states, about 20 military soldiers died and several PDF members also died and were injured, stated MBPDF.
  • The former chairman and founder of MNDAA, U Phone Kyar Shin, passed away on February 16.

Military Junta

  • The PNO transformation of military forces and Naung Mon military forces in southern Shan State were met by SAC’s Ya Pa Kha deputy commander-in-chief and given rice, oil, salt and money.
  • The civilians who support the CRPH and NUG were named violent people and arrested every day, stated in the military’s propaganda newspaper.
  • The coup leader Min Aung Hlaing attended the ceremony of the golden foundation at Keng Tong Haw (Palace) replica adjacent to Keng Tong Haw near Naung Tong Lake in Keng Tong township.

Summary on February 18

  • There had been rapid transmission of COVID-19 due to Min Aung Hlaing’s daydream about President ceremony “Boshu Thabin”. Some of the departments and hospitals were closed due to the sickness. Oxygen supplies were taken from the public and given to the military, causing problems for the public. They even arrested the doctors who gave treatments. SAC said that there is enough oxygen right now. It is questionable who would believe them or not.
  • The local PDFs from Sagaing and Karenni were attacked by heavy artillery and airstrikes. That is why many youths fight against the junta with a hand-gun that fires a single shot. The public must donate to their local PDFs and work to free the country from the fascist military.
