The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • In Thailand, there will be a meeting related to Myanmar’s affairs on 18 and 19 June. Reportedly, the junta Minister of Foreign Affairs was invited to join it. Regarding the news, the NUG expressed their disapproval.
  • Under the guidance of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration- NUG, the Township People’s Administration and Strike Committees met on Friday to conduct a national flower strike in commemoration of the birthday of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi on 19 June.
  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs- the NUG called on the invited countries not to attend the Thai Government Track 1.5 meeting that includes Myanmar’s military junta.
  • On 15 June, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs- NUG issued the dos and don’ts for Myanmar people taking refuge in India.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Sagaing Region, a combined rally of Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In commemoration of the birthday of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, the Monywa Strike Committee protested against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • Prior to the 78th birthday of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, there was a prayer event in Khin-U Township on Sunday, holding signs of strong determination.
  • In Wetlet Township, local people marched against the military dictatorship to commemorate the birthday of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.
  • In Khin-U Township, the junta army raided Yartaw Village on Sunday morning. They then set fire to people’s houses.
  • In Sagaing Township, there were bomb attacks via drone on Sartaung Police Station, Marletaw Pyu Village and Nyaung Ngoteto Pyu Village on Friday.
  • In Shwebo Township, there were mine attacks on the junta troop on Shwebo-Kyaukmyaung Road Section at 6:30 am Friday. Reportedly, a junta soldier died and 8 others including an officer got injured.
  • In Sagaing Township, the junta army burnt 6 local villages from 15 to 18 June. They then killed two local men by slitting on their necks.
  • In Mandalay, a local strike committee led a movement in commemoration of the birthday of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, wearing shirts saying- ‘Freedom from Fear’.
  • In Myeik Township of Taninthayi Region, the junta army arrested an elder brother of a local NLD MP. Reportedly, he died 10 days later.
  • On Saturday, Thailand for Burma strongly condemned Thailand for inviting the junta Foreign Minister, a war criminal, to the Track 1.5 Meeting.
  • On Sunday, 316 local and international CSOs sent an open letter strongly condemnating the meeting which the junta Foreign Minister would join in Bangkok of Thailand and the organizers of the meeting.
  • In commemoration of the 78th birthday of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, Myanmar people in Thailand offered alms to the monks on Sunday.
  • In the cities of Sweden, Myanmar people celebrated the birthday of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and wished her the best.
  • In Yesagyo Township of Magwe Region, the junta army raided a local PDF camp and shot dead a member.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Kanpetlet in Chin State, a local CDF conducted an attack via projectiles on the police station in town on Friday morning.
  • On Saturday, the KNDF released a video containing their simultaneous attacks on the junta’s temporary camps in Pekone Township on the Shan-Kayar border.
  • In Bago Region, a mortar shot by the junta army fell in Chaung Hna Kwa Village at 8:15 am Saturday. Reportedly, a local resident died and another one was injured. According to local sources, the patient is in need of medical treatment costs.

The Military Council

  • In Naypyi Taw on Saturday, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing gave financial awards to Myanmar’s sports teams that had won the ASEAN Disabled Sports Competition and Southeast Asia Body-building and Body-fitness Competition.
  • On Saturday, the military junta designated a Chief Justice of Rakhine State and a judge.
  • The junta Ambassador to Cambodia claimed that Myanmar would join hands with all the members in addition to the UNWTO.
  • In the International Economic Forum on Friday, a cooperation MOU was signed between Myanmar and the European-Asia Economic Commission.
  • The military junta announced that the KKO, the KNLA and the PDF shot mortars in Kawkarait of Kayin State and Theinzayat of Mon state, killing a person and leaving 4 others injured.
  • In Shan North, a 12-wheeled truck carrying the junta’s weapons from China turned over. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died.
  • In Yay Township of Mon State, the junta army fired mortars in Kyauk-I Village. A local resident lost their life in the incident. Reportedly, the junta captain Zaw Myo Aung provided 200,000 MMK to his family on Friday.
  • In Chin State, the power grid collapsed due to mortars fired by the junta army based in Mindat. Consequently, there have been power black-outs in Mindat, Matupi and Kanpetlet.

Summary on 19 June

  • The junta Minister of Foreign Affairs was invited to the meeting on Myanmar’s affairs organized by the Thai Government. Regarding it, local and international organizations protested. In other words, the international community still has not accepted the military junta and the efforts of Thailand would not work.
  • Prior to the birthday of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, the people have been celebrating it locally and internationally.
