The National Unity Government (NUG)

 

  • In an emergency speech online, Acting President of the NUG claimed that the release of political prisoners was a victory of the Spring Revolution. Along with his congratulations, he warned about the junta’s strategy of fire in one hand and water in the other.
  • Acting President of the NUG stated that Spring Revolution, which had started from zero, had come a long way.
  • On Thursday, there was a meeting between Ministry of Defence-NUG and Ministry of Judiciary Affairs-NUG. Reportedly, they discussed the policies on military and civilian judiciary affairs, the establishment of military courts, the law for PDFs and other matters.
  • In the ceremony on the 102nd National Victory Day, Chair of Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) claimed that they would try to form a parliament for a federal democratic union.
  • In Karenni State, the junta armed forces have been firing mortars towards local villages on a daily basis. According to the Karenni State Consultative Council, a child was killed and 28 people were injured until mid-November.
  • The NUG has been inviting participants for the contests in commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Revolution Activities

  • The Chair of ASEAN vowed that they, together with the ASEAN Special Envoy on Myanmar, would proceed for peace in Myanmar during their chairmanship. Reportedly, they have been arranging the third trip of the Special Envoy to the country.
  • In Kayan Township of Yangon Region, U Than Htay, administrator of Yoegyi Village, was shot dead at about 9:00 am Friday.
  • In Mingaladone Township, War of Hunter Revolution Force bombed the junta police gate in Kyankhinsu Ward at about 8:00 pm Thursday.
  • In Insein Township, there was a remote mine attack at the bus terminal of the junta Myanmar’s Economic Holdings at 2:40 pm Thursday. Reportedly, it was jointly carried out by the Divine Ranger Forces (DRF) and United Resistance Force (UGF).
  • Reportedly, Fight the Thieves (FTT) was formed to protect Yangon from daily crimes such as theft and robbery.
  • Even amidst lack of stability in Kani Township of Sagaing Region, Spring Revolution forces celebrated the 102nd National Victory Day and protested against the military dictatorship.
  • As a 617-day protest, a combined rally of villages from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Friday.
  • In Khin-U Township, local people expressed their support for the NUG on Friday morning, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • In commemoration of the 102 National Victory Day, a rally of youth from Chaung-U and Monywa marched to express the students’ protest against the junta slavery education.
  • Amidst tight security measures in Monywa, Youth Revolution Network hung an anti-junta banner at a traffic lights on Friday.
  • In Khin-U Township, there was a battle between the junta army and local PDFs at 6:30 am Thursday. Reportedly, about 10 junta soldiers died.
  • Somewhere on Monywa-ChaungU Road Section, the junta army on foot was attacked with variety mines twice at about 1:00 pm Thursday.
  • In Khin-U Township, the junta army arrested 3 local people from Konetha Village, including a Grade (10) student, for human shields on Thursday morning.
  • According to a focal person of the Monywa The Voice Commando Force, it is urgently needed to equip weapons as the junta army has started their invasion in Monywa District.
  • In Sagaing Township, the junta army set fire to Talaing Village on Friday morning. Reportedly, tens of thousands of people from 20 local villages have had to run away.
  • In Magwe of Magwe Region, there was a warning attack with mines on the junta immigration office at about 11:00 am Thursday.
  • In Yesagyo Township, the junta army set fire to Sutthwa Village on Wednesday. Reportedly, 7 houses and a clinic were burnt to ashes.
  • In Saw Township, the junta armed forces set fire to two local villages on Tuesday. Reportedly, 226 houses were burnt to ashes.
  • In Maha Aungmye Township of Mandalay Region, there was a bomb explosion near Myataung Monastery on Friday morning. Consequently, a man died in the incident.
  • In Madayar Township, Bugyi, allegedly Pyusawti leader in Taungpyone Village, was shot dead by guerrilla forces on Thursday.
  • In Ayeyarwaddy Region, the junta armed forces have been placing posters of 7 wanted people including the NLD MP of Hinthada District.
  • In Taninthayi Township of Taninthayi Region, there were exchanges of fire between PDF and the junta army in Tonedaw Village. Reportedly, two PDF members lost lives.
  • According to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners-AAPP, there were only 53 political prisoners among the total of nearly 6000 prisoners released by the military junta.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Dimawso Township of Karenni State, there was a mine attack on a military truck passing Konetha Village on Friday. According to Karenni Revolution Union, 3 junta soldiers died.
  • In Lasho Township of Shan State, there was a fighting between the MNDAA and the junta army on 15 November. Reportedly, about 30 junta soldiers died.
  • In an interview with DVB, a spokesperson of Arakan Army-AA claimed that Rakhine people had already mentioned about their political aspiration of no less than a confederation and they would keep their effort to create their own destiny no matter what.

The Military Council

  • In the press conference on Friday, the junta spokesperson Zaw Min Tun said that there was a trade surplus worth over a billion USD in the tenure of the military junta.
  • The junta propaganda leader stated that over 59,000 prisoners had been released in amnesties in the junta’s administration for more than a year.
  • The junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun blamed some members of the ASEAN that their relations with the NUG, CRPH and PDFs had been against the ASEAN Charter.
  • In the press conference, U Khin Mg Oo, a member of the junta Union Election Commission, said that they had already amended and adopted a respective election law and by-law for the election with the PR System.
  • According to the military junta, the 4 foreigners, who had been given an amnesty, were sent to the airport and deported.
  • On Wednesday, the junta delegation led by Minister of Electricity and Minister of Industry discussed with Russian EV Battery Company for the cooperation and investment in electricity and industry for the development of Myanmar.
  • On Thursday, the junta Minister of Immigration said that they would carry out activities to issue household lists and national registration cards in Wa Special Administrative Region.
  • According to the junta Ministry of Trade and Commerce, motorbike showrooms are to import only new motorbikes and they must submit the bank insurance with the deposit worth 500 lakh MMK.
  • The junta Central Bank of Myanmar stated that the foreign currency from imports and exports would be allowed in Chinese Yuan and Thai Baht in addition to the US Dollar.
  • In cooperation with the junta Ministry of Natural Resources, Myanmar Postal Service under the junta Ministry of Transportation and Communication would sell 200-MMK stamps containing Naphakyu or a kind of bird with a round tail.
  • The junta Ministry of Electricity announced that they had been working to maintain the power supply in northern Rakhine State as the PDFs had blown up the grid.
  • According to the military junta, the AA attacked the junta police camp in Kyaing Chaung Village of Maungdaw Township in Rakhine State on Wednesday. Consequently, the mortars fell and exploded in Longdone Village, killing 10 people including two children and injuring 24 others.

Summary on 18 November

  • Among those who were declared in the amnesty by the military junta, there were just a few political prisoners. Judging by this, it is just an act to relieve international pressure and get support for the junta election.
  • In the upcountry area, the junta armed forces have been burning villages on a daily basis. Consequently, tens of thousands of local people have had to run away. Throughout their generations, the military dictators tend to target civilians in their attack when they have a great loss against revolution forces.
