The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • There was a meeting between Paola Pampaloni, the Deputy Managing Director of the European External Action Service (EEAS), and Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, the NUG Union Minister of Health and Education. Reportedly, they mainly discussed matters such as humanitarian assistance and the ASEAN Special Envoy meeting with all stakeholders in Myanmar.
  • The NUG announced that negotiations and reciprocities with the military junta were not legitimate or recognized.
  • The NUG announced that the military junta was an illegitimate organization without de jure power or de facto power at all.
  • On Wednesday, Yangon Federal School and Mandalay Federal School announced that primary, middle and high school students could enroll with them online.

Revolutionary Activities

  • On Wednesday, the Mandalay Monks’ Union led an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • At the divergent point of Myingyan-Nyaung Oo Road and Konepatoe Village Street, an alliance of six local PDFs carried out a mine operation on Tuesday. Reportedly, four members of the junta armed forces died.
  • The Myanmar Revolution Rangers Force announced that for the oppressed public in Mandalay, two urban guerrilla forces would join hands to fight back against the military junta.
  • In Yangon, Octopus Youth hung a banner cursing the military junta, and performed astrological rituals, on Wednesday.
  • In Tontay Township, a local PDF protested against the junta slavery education at some schools on Wednesday morning.
  • In Longlone Township in Tanintharyi Region, the Basic Education Students’ Union expressed their disapproval of the junta’s slavery education on Wednesday.
  • In Longlone Township, an alleged Pyu Saw Htee leader in Phwaboatpyin Village was shot dead at about 2:30 pm on Tuesday.
  • In Ye Township in Mon State, there was a drone attack on junta army regiment (591) near to Kyaungywa Village on Monday. Due to the junta’s random return of gunfire in response, a civilian was injured.
  • In Pale Township in Sagaing Region, a convoy of 92 military trucks was attacked by an alliance of local PDFs starting on 26 May. Reportedly, no less than 45 junta soldiers died and many others were injured in six days of fighting.
  • In Dibeyin Township, basic education students protested against the junta’s slavery education on Tuesday.
  • On Wednesday morning, Kalay people marched against the junta’s slavery education.
  • In the south of Kalay, an alliance of VAKOK (CNDF) attacked the junta army stationed in the monastery of Natchaung Village on Tuesday and Wednesday. Reportedly, there might have been casualties of seven junta soldiers. As for the PDF, they lost a member and two others were injured.

On their 447 th day of protest, villagers from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Wednesday.

In Shwebo Township, a rally of Shwe Kun Myay marched for the NUG and against the military dictatorship on Wednesday.

In Monywa Township, youths and students hung an anti-junta poster at the junta traffic police camp on Wednesday.

In Usan in South Korea, there was a fund-raising football competition for the Spring Revolution on Wednesday. There, Daegu Sayardaw called for a collective effort and support for the victory of the revolution based on peace, tolerance and love.

In Chin State, the junta army set fire to Tantalan again. According to Thantlang Placement Affairs Committee – IDP help, 135 houses were damaged.

In Gangaw Township in Magwe Region, the junta armed forces were attacked with mines at the Myittha Dam. According to a PDF, there might have been casualties among junta soldiers.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • According to the KNU, the junta Painzalote police arrested the head of the Kyunggyi boatmen, and accused him of having contact with the KNU.
  • In Sawti Township under the KNU, there was a bomb explosion in front of the high school in Bazunmyaung Village at about 8:00 am on Wednesday. According to the KNU, the same happened in front of Nyaunglebin Township Education Office on 28 May.
  • In Kyaukgyi Township under the KNU, local responsible personnel met with administrators, health and education staff and other departmental staff selected by the public at 9:00 am on Wednesday.
  • On Wednesday, a revolutionary force in Karenni State announced through a video that they had managed to produce 70mm rifles wthat can hit a target up to 800 metres away.

The Military Council

  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that the country has become peaceful even though there had been chaos and violence due to political divides.
  • According to the junta media, 2,482 CDM teachers contacted township education offices by 31 May asking to resume their teaching duties.
  • The junta Press Council and Music Association expressed their condemnation of the mine attack by a PDF at the Naungcho Township Education Office.
  • On Wednesday, the junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun said that 230 people had taken refuge at the USDP Headquarters in Nay Pyi Taw due to the political situation after 1 February 2021. He also claimed that they would provide help as soon as possible.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that they had been making arrangements to reflect provisions contained in a National Education Law adopted by the previous Union Parliament and make amendments where necessary.
  • At the junta press conference, the junta election commission stated that legal action had been taken against 2,896 people with regard to the 2020 General Election.
  • The junta propaganda leader said that enough fuel oil had been imported for local use until 16 June.
  • The junta propaganda leader falsely claimed that the person who had died in a bomb explosion at a bus-stop in downtown Yangon on Tuesday was a PDF member.
  • According to military sources, there was an argument between officer of No. (2) Magway Police Station and a soldier from the Magway Air Force base on Tuesday. Reportedly, they had a fight.

Summary on 2 June

  • The junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun accused PDFs of carrying out a bomb explosion at a bus-stop in downtown Yangon. With an unclear video, he blamed a dead person for the explosion.
  • In many townships, youths protested against the junta’s slavery education. At the same time, schools in cooperation with the NUG  started to accept enrollment. As for parents, they need to make careful and thoughtful choices.
  • The junta armed forces have been setting fire to villages including pagodas and religious buildings, where there has been fighting and where no fighting has taken place, in the upcountry regions. They also took away valuables belonging to members of the public.
  • In Kayin State, the junta armed forces have been preparing to get back their lost camps. Consequently, there might soon be battles in the area.
