The National Unity Government (NUG)

· In an interview with RFA, the NUG Minister of Defense said that under the NUG, there were (259) PDF regiments with between 50,000 and 100,000 members.

· In an interview with Yangon Khit Thit, the NUG Minister of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Risks Management said that there were some members of the junta armed forces who contacted them after they announced financial rewards for soldiers who would join the revolution and bring airplanes, helicopters and armored vehicles with them.

· According to the NUG Representative Office in France, on Tuesday, bonds would be sold at a Revolutionary Thingyan Sale organized by Myanmar people in France, on 24 April.

· The NUG Ministry of Human Rights announced that with the cooperation and support of local and international CSOs, human rights violations by the military junta had been systematically recorded.

· The NUG Minister of Economics and Commerce attended Sialsawm organized by the UK-based Zomi Community.

· The NUG Ministry of Labor stated that they were getting started with collecting data related to the loss of labor affairs and the reporting mechanism.

Revolutionary Activities

· In Longlone Township in Tanintharyi Region, youths marched against the military dictatorship on Tuesday.

· On Tuesday, Pulaw Township PDF announced that they would conduct more attacks on the junta army.

· In Dawei Township, the administrator of Pauktie Village was shot dead at his house at about 6:00 am on Tuesday.

· In Pauk Township in Magwe Region, the junta army raided and set fire to Kimma Village on Monday by firing mortars. Reportedly, 19 houses were burnt to ashes.

· In Myaing Township, local people made a night strike against the military dictatorship, banging pots and pans.

· In Tilin Township, a PDF attacked Kyin Police Station. Reportedly, police officer Aung Kyaw Sein died and 15 others joined the CDM together with their weapons.

· In Gangaw Township, the junta army and Pyu Saw Htee entered Hnankha Village on Monday morning. Reportedly, they killed U Sein Win aged 67 for no apparent reason and robbed of food items from villagers. They also threatened to set fire to the village if local people made any protests.

· In Kalay in Sagaing Region, a sergeant and his wife contacted the Civic Defense Militia – Siyin and joined the public.

· In Monywa, local residents from the Letpadaung Taung Area led a march against the military dictatorship on Monday.

· In a village in Salingyi Township, there was a march against the military dictatorship on Monday.

· In Kyunghla Township, four people from Painnegone Village, including a child aged 13, were arrested by the junta army. Reportedly, they have not been released yet and their lives are in danger.

· On the 436th day of protest, Kalay people marched against the military dictatorship on Tuesday.

· On the 405th day of protest, thousands of villagers from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Tuesday.

· On the 435th day of protest, Mandalay Monks’ Union recited Parittas for the aspiration of Myanmar people and a federal democratic union.

· Reportedly, family members faced difficulties in sending letters to political prisoners in Mandalay Obo Prison. In addition, there were also many hardships within the prison.

· In Hpakant in Kachin State, a rally of over 300 people marched against the military dictatorship on Tuesday, banging pots and pans. They also expressed their support for the KIA, PDF and NUG.

· In Yangon Region, guerilla group From Zero To Hero bombed the tollbooth at the entrance to Tandabin. Reportedly, two staff members were injured.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

· In the Lay Kay Kaw area, the Cobra Force fired mortars and attacked the junta army with snipers.

· In the south of Myawaddy in Karen State, there were exchanges of fire between the junta armed forces and Cobra Force under KNU Brigade (6).

· In Hpa-An Township, a combined force of the KNLA attacked the junta armed forces at Wabodaw Crossroad on the Hpa-An to Thaton Road at 8:50 am on Tuesday. Reportedly, six junta members, including a police sergeant, died and five others just hid without shooting back.

· In Hpapun District under the control of KNU Brigade (5), there were 174 battles between the junta army and/or Border Guard Forces and the KNLA from 1 to 15 April. Reportedly, 81 members of the junta armed forces died. As for KNLA, they lost a member and seven others were injured.

· In a battle between the junta army and the KNLA accompanied by a PDF in Karen State, army officer Sai Soe Thiha, a graduate of the junta Defense Service Academy Intake (49), died in a mine attack.

The Military Council

· The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing controls all the use of US Dollars. As importers do not know if they can buy all the US Dollars they need, they are not able to import fuel oil. Consequently, people all over the country are having to panic buy fuel oil.

· The junta propaganda leader said that there was enough fuel oil in the country. He also said that they had warned some companies that announced shortages of fuel oil.

· In reality, Myanmar people cannot buy enough fuel oil. The military junta announced that panic buying of fuel oil happened because of rumors and that the situation would soon return to normal.

· According to the junta Internal Revenue Department, they have increased the fine for failing to print tax stamps on receipts.

· The junta leader said that because Pyi Oo Lwin is a resort town it must increase local agriculture and livestock to help develop tourism.

· The junta leader told officers pursuing Law Diplomas at the junta academy in Pyin Oo Lwin that they must better understand and follow the laws, as the military junta had been shaping a democratic administration with multiple other parties.

· The military junta secretly instructed licensed telecom operators and companies to remove web pages belonging to the NUG and the CRPH as well as anti-junta media, people and organisations.

· On Tuesday morning, the junta leader did not dare to take the flight due to turbulent weather or take a road trip due to fear of mine attacks on the way. Reportedly, he left Pyin Oo Lwin for Mandalay secretly on a special train.

Summary on 20 April

· Due to mismanagement by the junta leader, there is not enough fuel oil. Consequently, people can only buy limited amounts. This has happened because the junta has forcibly seized all the US dollars in the country. Because of their behaviour the country has become a failed state.

· The NUG has been making an effort to set up administrations in the areas under its influence. They have been trying to run their ministries with the resources they have.

· In Karen, Karenni, and Chin states and Sagaing and Magwe regions, there were battles against the junta army. Sagaing PDFs have managed to use more modern weapons and they have even taken control of some junta camps. There might soon be attacks against the junta all over the country and the junta might have to face great losses.
