The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG Acting President said that Daw Aung San Su Kyi had dedicated her life to the liberation of the country and the public from the dictators.
  • The NUG Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation- NUG attended an event in commemoration of one-year anniversary of Mobye PDF and Pekone PDF.
  • On Sunday, there was a birthday celebration for Daw Aung San Su Kyi at Dawna PDF Troop at the Southern Military Headquarters in Kayin State.
  • On the 77 th birthday of Daw Aung San Su Kyi, comrades from the western region sent her best wishes, and recited poems.

Revolutionary Activities

  • The Singapore Foreign Minister expressed birthday wishes for Daw Aung San Su Kyi on social media.
  • In commemoration of the 77 th birthday of the State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi, CFC organized an event at Samonyin Pagoda in Malaysia. Reportedly, nearly 500 people joined it.
  • On the birthday of Daw Aung San Su Kyi, the People’s Power Coalition conducted a prayer event and a campaign for the release of all political prisoners.
  • To celebrate the 77 th birthday of Daw Aung San Su Kyi, Yangon youths marched amidst tight security measures and protested against the military dictatorship.
  • In Salingyi Township in Sagaing Region as well as the invasion of the junta army, there was a birthday celebration for State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi at an IDP camp.
  • On Sunday, a rally of Shwe Nwethwe celebrated the birthday of Daw Aung San Su Kyi and marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Khin-U Township, local people held a prayer event for Daw Aung San Su Kyi on her birthday and called for the release of all political prisoners including national leaders.
  • In Shwebo Township, comrades from Free Logistics led a prayer event in commemoration of the birthday of Daw Aung San Su Kyi.
  • In Yinmabin, New Strength led a photo campaign on the birthday of Daw Aung San Su Kyi and made an indoor demonstration against the military dictatorship.
  • In Monywa, Than Zaw Tun, a member of the junta district administration, was shot dead on Sunday.
  • In Kani Township, local people and Spring Revolution forces celebrated the birthday of Daw Aung San Su Kyi in two local villages.
  • In Salingyi Township, a local force has been demolishing MPT telecom towers because MPT has blacked out the internet under the orders of the military junta.
  • In Monywa, there was a guerrilla protest with anti-junta slogans. Roses were also spread on the main road spreading roses on the main road to commemorate the birthday of Daw Aung San Su Kyi.  On the 77 th birthday of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi, at a rally of the Shwe Kun Myay a prayer event was conducted. They also marched for the NUG and against the military dictatorship.
  • Political prisoners released a statement about ill-treatment in Insein Prison, activities against the prison law and arrangements for hanging four political prisoners who have been sentenced to death.
  • On the birthday of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi, there were flower donated to Shwedagon Pagoda and flower presented to women in Yangon.
  • At 8:30 am on Sunday, there was a bomb attack at North Okkalapa Education Office.
  • On the 77 th birthday of Daw Aung San Su Kyi, a combined rally of Yangon revolution forces marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Hpakant in Kachin State, local people conducted a prayer event for the 77 th birthday of Daw Aung San Su Kyi and protested against the military dictatorship.
  • In Hpakant Township, the junta army shot mortars into Hmaw Pone Madeyan Village while local residents were celebrating the birthday of Daw Aung San Su Kyi. Reportedly, three villagers were injured.
  • Somewhere in Myitkyina, there was an anti-junta movement with a banner saying that Min Aung Hlaing and his followers should give up their arms as soon as possible.
  • In Yebyu Township in Tanintharyi Region, four family members, allegedly junta informers who had run away from Longlone, were shot dead in Inbya Ward (4) in Kalaiaung at 9:00 pm on Saturday.
  • Amidst the oppression in Longlone, a combined rally of rural communities took to the streets against the military dictatorship on the birthday of Daw Aung San Su Kyi.
  • Somewhere in the forest, Dawei District PDF expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship on the 77 th birthday of Daw Aung San Su Kyi.
  • On the main road in Dawei, youths placed a banner that said: ‘Go on fighting for a new life with freedom’, played revolutionary songs and spread anti-junta brochures on Sunday morning.
  • On the birthday of Daw Aung San Su Kyi, the Mandalay Monks’ Union conducted a prayer event and an anti-junta protest.
  • In Patheingyi Township in Mandalay Region, Than Swe, the junta administrator of Kantha Villager and an advocate of the USDP, was shot dead on Sunday afternoon.
  • On the 77 th birthday of Daw Aung San Su Kyi, a rally of Pyigyi Dagun expressed their objection to the military dictatorship.
  • On Sunday, Myingyan people protested against the military dictatorship, holding anti-junta signs.
  • In Kyaukse, there was a grenade attack at the house of former military dictator Than Shwe on Sunday morning.
  • In Pyin Oo Lwin, local people put up a banner with birthday wishes for Daw Aung San Su Kyi and posters against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Melbourne in Australia, there was a birthday celebration for Daw Aung San Su Kyi on Sunday, calling for the release of political prisoners.
  • In Incheon in South Korea, the NUG Representative’s Office, the NUG Support Team Korea, Myanmar people and organisations and Korean organisations held a prayer event for peace on Daw Aung San Su Kyi’s birthday.
  • For the 77 th birthday of Daw Aung San Su Kyi on Sunday, PDF members led a prayer event.
  • There were prayer events by the general public throughout the country on Daw Aung San Su Kyi’s 77 th birthday.
  • In Yetashay Township in Bago Region, an alliance of local PDFs attacked the junta army in Daunkin Village at about 6:00 pm on 15 June. Reportedly, four junta soldiers died.
  • The National League for Democracy announced that they had resumed the publication of their party newsletter on the birthday of Daw Aung San Su Kyi.
  • In Magwe Region, the YDF Htilin Battalion SSN conducted Freedom from Fear Campaign on Sunday for the release of political prisoners including State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Kayin State, there was a birthday celebration for Daw Aung San Su Kyi at a KNLA office.
  • In a liberated area under control of the Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade (6), KNDO Special Commando Force and Unity PDF conducted an event to celebrate Daw Aung San Su Kyi’s 77 th birthday.
  • In Myitkyina Township in Kachin State, a troop of 100 junta soldiers was attacked with mines by the KIA and KPDF on Saturday.
  • On Sunday, there was a birthday celebration for Daw Aung San Su Kyi at KNLA Brigade (7). 

The Military Council

  • According to the junta media, the junta Minister of Construction inspected the project at Mingala Yankin Public’s Rental Housing in Patheingyi Township in Mandalay Region.
  • The military junta announced that they had taken legal action against six people who shared their support for the NUG and PDF via Facebook.
  • According to the junta media, the junta peace team met with a delegation from the PNLO for the third day and signed an agreement.
  • The junta Minister said that there would be four events commemorating Martyrs’ Day in Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw.
  • Responding to statements by United Nations representatives, the military junta said that the UN should not interfere in the internal affairs of the country.

Summary on 20 June

  • In commemoration of the birthday of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi, there were anti-junta protests all over the country. As for international diplomats, EAOs and PDFs, they wished her freedom from detention. No matter how the military dictators have tried to defame Daw Aung San Su Kyi, it can be clearly seen that she has always had a special place in the peole’s hearts.
  • The military junta responded to the UN by telling them not to interfere with the country’s internal affairs. It is time for the international community to take action against the junta army for its genocide and war crimes.
  • More than a year after the coup, the military junta has been taking action against ordinary people not fighting the revolution and those sharing posts about the NUG on social media with serious punishment. Via the junta media, they have been threatened people who spread such news and prohibit the freedom of expression.
