The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • On Saturday, the NUG Acting President claimed that rays of hope were on their way to build a federal democratic nation for Myanmar.
  • On 31 March 2021, the Federal Democracy Charter was issued. It was then reviewed and amended by the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC). Reportedly, the amended one was adopted at the first people’s conference held from 27 to 29 January 2022.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Sagaing Region, a rally of Yin Mar Bin North marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday morning.
  • On Sunday, a combined rally of villagers from Salingyi and Yin Mar Bin marched for the end of the military dictatorship.
  • On Sunday, the WGPDF warned local people to be cautious as the junta armed forces have been randomly firing heavy artillery on the border of Kani.
  • In Shwebo Township, there was a drone bomb attack coupled with a mine attack on the junta army somewhere on the Shwebo-Kyaukmyaung Road Section at 10:40 am on Saturday. Reportedly, there might have been casualties among the junta soldiers.
  • In Shwebo Township, there were two drone bomb attacks on the junta army on secret patrol near Ohnpauk Village on Saturday. Reportedly, there might have been a large number of casualties among junta soldiers.
  • In Shwebo Township, the junta army conducted an attacked through a Mi-35 helicopter on Seikkun Village with an Mi-35 helicopter at about 2:00 pm on Saturday. Reportedly, two local people died.
  • In Kantbalu Township, the junta army fired mortars into Pasigyi Village on Saturday night. Reportedly, a house was hit and damaged.
  • In Wetlet Township, the junta army set fire to a monastery and 269 houses in Thamayoe Village on Friday afternoon. They also killed an old woman by burning her to death.
  • On the border of Madayar Township in Mandalay Region and Sagaing Township in Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces invaded the area from 13 to 17 March. They also raped and killed a local married woman from Shwegebyan Village. They also burnt 3 people including a monk to death.
  • In Madayar Township, there was a mine attack on a junta army troop on Saturday morning. Reportedly, two junta soldiers died and many others were injured.
  • In Thabaitgyin Township, the junta army shot mortars into Sabalnago Village at 9:58 pm Saturday. Reportedly, a house was hit and damaged.
  • In Yesagyo in Magwe Region, there was a rocket attack on the junta army stationed at the combined office in Ward (2). Reportedly, there might have been casualties among junta soldiers at the incident.
  • In Insein Township in Yangon Region, a team led by a junta hundred-household leader was shot at in Pauk Taw Ward on Saturday evening. Reportedly, three of them were injured.
  • In Thaketa Township, three junta policemen were shot dead at Win Photocopier Shop in Ward (9) on Friday. Afterwards, the military junta arrested the chair of a charity group and some local people.
  • Dark Shadow, an urban guerrilla force based in Yangon, issued their last warning on 15 March that local DJs who will entertain people at the junta’s Thingyan celebration will be regarded as pro-military ones and there will be action against them.
  • In Mawlamyine Township in Mon State, there were three drone bomb attacks on the headquarters of the junta’s Southeast Military Region on the night of 16 March.
  • In Hpakant Township in Kachin State, the junta army raided and destroyed the women’s capacity building office opened by Kachin National Socio-Development Foundation at about 11:00 pm on Friday. They also arrested an office security man.
  • In London of England, the movie ‘Rays of Hope’ by Director Ko Pauk was shown at the Comedy Store on Saturday at noon. Reportedly, a large number of the audience came to watch it.
  • In Texas State in the United States, there was a special show of the movie- ‘Rays of Hope’ on Saturday. Reportedly, it earned $6260 USD, which is worth 175 lakh MMK.
  • The Shan National League for Democracy (SNLD) decided not to register at the junta’s Union Election Commission.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • According to Kawthoolei Army (KTLA), the issue was resolved regarding the exchanges of accusation between an officer of the White Elephant Column and the Unity PDF.
  • According to a communication officer of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA), Major General N'Ban La resumed his chairmanship of the Kachin Independence Organization (KIO) after taking a temporary break from the position.
  • In Puta-O Township in Kachin State, there was a battle between the KIA and the junta army near Tanjar Village on Saturday morning.
  • At the entrance to Hpakant, a combined force of the KIA and PDFs conducted a guerrilla attack on the junta army on Saturday evening. Reportedly, three junta soldiers were injured.
  • The Deputy Commander in Chief of the Karenni Army (KA) claimed that U Aung Kam Hti, the leader of the Pa-O National Organisation is cooperating with the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing. He was once saved by the KA, but he was ungradeful enough to accuse the KA/KNDF of carrying out the massacre in Pinlaung Township.
  • In an exclusive interview with Myanmar Now, the Minister of Home Affairs from the Karenni State Government claimed that they will fight back against the junta army invading the area with about 2,000 junta soldiers in nine troops.
  • In Loikaw, there was an attack on the junta army on secret patrol at Linphonelay Divergent Point at about 6:30 am on Friday. Reportedly, a sniper shot dead a junta soldier.
  • The Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF) expressed its sorrow for the loss of three members in local battles from late February up to now.
  • In Tonzang Township in Chin State, the Chin National Army (CNA) burnt a junta army camp in Darkhine Village.
  • According to a representative of CDF Mindat, they conducted a mine attack on a junta convoy on the Mindat-Kyauktu Road Section on the border of Chin State and Magwe Region. Reportedly, two military trucks were damaged.
  • CDF Mindat announced on Sunday that local people can use the Kyauktu-Mindat Road Section again as the junta’s convoy has retreated to Kyauktu.

The Military Council

  • On the occasion of Mon State Day on 19 March, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing sent a statement.
  • In the Danu Self-Administered Region in Shan South on Saturday, the second junta leader Soe Win met with local MSME business people, departmental staff and local residents.
  • On Sunday morning, an EV Charging Station was opened in front of Yangon Train Station.
  • According to the junta propaganda newspapers, more chargers for electric vehicles arrived at Yangon Airport on Saturday.
  • To celebrate Thingyan for the second time during the coup period, the military junta started constructing pandals (stages) in Yangon.
  • Since the junta’s matriculation exam, there have been more frequent power outages in Yangon.
  • A Russian cargo plane RA 78765 (IL76) arrived at Nay Pyi Taw Air Force on Sunday morning and unloaded military items.
  • In Beelin Township in Mon State, junta army Regiment (314) in Zeewun shot mortars towards Shwe Yaung Pya Village Tract on Saturday evening. Reportedly, a six-year-old child was killed when a bullet hit them in the head.

  • The military junta has been trying to legalize its coup with the election. On the other hand, the political parties involved in the junta’s election will have a blackspot in their history in the future.
