The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • There was a meeting between the Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration and the Mon State Interim Cooperation Committee.
  • The NUG Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment launched a Digital Myanmar Kyat DMMK as NUG Pay.
  • Acting President said that Daw Aung San Su Kyi was a leader of the Spring Revolution as well as the NUG Counsellor.

Revolutionary Activities

  • On Sunday, Kim wished his mother Daw Aung San Su Kyi a happy birthday. He also said that he had no idea how she was.
  • In Thandaung in Kayin State, snipers from a local PDF shot at the junta army inspecting people at the post office junction at 9:40 am on Monday. Reportedly, a sergeant died.
  • A regiment of the YGN Special Team conducted an event on the 77th birthday of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi.
  • In Kyauktada Township in Bago Region, Tun Tun Naing, a junta police sergeant from Penwegone Police Station, was shot dead by a local PDF on 15 June.
  • In Yetashay, Win Naing, the administrator of Ward (4), was shot dead near his betel shop on Sunday.
  • In Yinmabin Township in Sagaing Region, the junta army was attacked with mines by PDF members at about 9:00 pm Sunday. Reportedly, 10 junta soldiers died.
  • An alliance of 38 PDFs from Sagaing Region and Mandalay Region celebrated the 77th birthday of Daw Aung San Su Kyi.
  • Amidst the invasion of the junta armed forces in the area, a combined rally from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship on Monday, raising an anti-junta banner.
  • In Monywa, the Basic Education Students’ Union and Youth Association conducted a protest on Kyaukka Road on Monday, calling for the public’s cooperation in the revolution.
  • In Tamu Township, PDFs marched at some places in town to celebrate the 77th birthday of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi.
  • In Longlone Township in Tanintharyi Region, youths protested against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • The Insein Political Prisoner Group expressed its objections to four democracy activists including Ko Jimmy and Ko Phyo Zayyar Thaw being sentenced to death by the junta. They also released an urgent five-point statement calling for that included a call for healthcare provision saying that there had been terrible violations of prisoners’ rights in Insein Prison.
  • In Gantgaw Township in Magwe Region, the junta armed forces destroyed people’s houses and took away valuable things in four local villages on Sunday and Monday.
  • On Daw Aung San Su Kyi’s 77th birthday strike committees and PDFs in Myaing Township conducted a night march calling for the release of political prisoners and against the military dictatorship.
  • In Thanlyin Township in Yangon Region, there was a bomb explosion at Aung Thabye Police Station at about 8:30 pm on Sunday. Reportedly, there was also an attack at the TTU gate where the junta army had been taking security measures.
  • In Daegu in South Korea, Daegu Sayardaw led celebrations for the 77th birthday of Daw Aung San Su Kyi.
  • In Tokyo in Japan, nearly 2000 Myanmar people joined celebrations for the birthday of State Counsellor Daw Aung Su Kyi. Reportedly, they will send donations directly to Myanmar war refugees.
  • In Stockholm in Sweden, there was an alms offering ceremony for the birthday of Daw Aung San Su Kyi.
  • In New York in the United States, NYCBC (New York City Burmese Community) and H2B (Helping Hands for Burma) celebrated the 77th birthday of Daw Aung San Su Kyi.
  • On Monday, the Mandalay Monks’ Union conducted an anti-junta demonstration.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • At the meeting with the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing in Nay Pyi Taw, the Chief Military Officer of the Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA) said that they would always join hands with the junta army.

The Military Council

  • The military junta announced that they had sent back the seven PDF members, who had joined the EAO training but had committed no crimes, to their parents on Sunday.
  • At Nyaung-U Hospital in Mandalay Region, the junta health minister told the staff on Sunday that there would be no limit of service years for the 11 medical master programs in 2023 academic year.
  • The junta Minister of Religious Affairs and Culture said that the religions recognized by the Constitution would be protected as much as possible.
  • U Naing Ngan Lin, the Minister of Social Affairs in Yangon Region, was charged under five anti-corruption laws and sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Summary on 21 June

  • As the next step, the NUG launched NUG Pay and DMMK, which could be used both locally and in other countries such as Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Australia, the UK, the US and the EU. This will make it harder for the military junta to block off the flow of funds and equipment to the revolution.
  • In Sagaing, Magwe, Kayin, Bago and Yangon, there were revolutionary guerilla activities and constant fighting with the junta armed forces. Despite arrests and oppression, there were still protests in towns.
