The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG announced on Wednesday that they had been investigating the bomb explosion at the parcel delivery department of Insein Prison in Yangon and they would take effective action against those who had carried it out.
  • The NUG Union Minister of Human Rights expressed his objection to the bombs that caused casulaties at the parcel delivery department in Insein Prison.
  • On Wednesday morning, there was a meeting between the NUG Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration and township administration teams from Sagaing Region and Magwe Region. Reportedly, local administration personnel made presentations about their activities, difficulties and needs.
  • At 2:00 pm on Tuesday, there was an online meeting between the Committee on Public Affairs under the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP). Reportedly, they discussed the matters of providing assistance to the political prisoners who have been unlawfully detained by the military junta.
  • The NUG Ministry of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Risks Management announced that they had provided humanitarian aid worth of 272.31 million MMK in September.
  • In Yinmabin Township in Sagaing Region, CDM health staff provided medical check-ups at an interim school on Wednesday.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Hlaing Township in Yangon Region, a junta captain named Myint Swe, his wife and another junta captain were shot dead near Thiri Myaing bus-stop at 9:30 am on Thursday.
  • In Thanlyin Township, a hundred-household leader, Than Chaung, was shot dead on Wednesday.
  • Somewhere in Yangon, there was an anti-junta demonstration on Thursday.
  • Ko James, a former member of the All Burma Students' Democratic Front, made a request for his final goodbye to his mother who was killed in the bomb explosion in Insein Prison. Reportedly, the request was turned down by the prison authorities.
  • On Wednesday, the Special Task Agency Of Burma (STA) announced that they had conducted the bomb explosions at Insein Prison.
  • The Special Task Agency Of Burma (STA) announced that they have carried out a total of nine attacks since 29 June and there had been casualties among civilians during those attacks.
  • A combination of strike committees, revolutionary forces and urban guerrillas strongly condemned the bomb explosion in Insein Prison and the indiscriminate gunfire which had caused casualties among civilians.
  • The Anti-Fascist Force expressed its condemnation of the bomb explosion in Insein Prison and called on the perpetrators to admit their mistake and take their punishment after the revolution.
  • The Fundraising Cranes For U condemned the Special Task Agency Of Burma (STA), which had carried out the explosion in Insein Prison causing many casualties, and that they had decided to remove them from the list of groups receiving funding assistance.
  • Solider Cat announced on Wednesday that if the perpetrators of the bomb explosion in Insein Prison were from a revolutionary force, they would cut down their funding assistance for that force.
  • On Wednesday morning, there was a bomb explosion at Insein Prison. In response, the junta army fired indiscriminately. Consequently, the family members of the Thingangyun Post Editor Ma Htet Htet Aung and Journalist Ko Wai Lin were injured.
  • In Sagaing Region, Ko Wai Moe Naing, leader of Monywa General Strike and former Chair of Monywa University Students’ Union, was sentenced to another four years in prison on Thursday.
  • In Salingyi Township, a combined rally of the Monywa University Students’ Union and the Letbadaung Taung General Strike conducted an anti-junta public talk on Thursday.
  • On their 588th day of protest, a combined rally of local villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin expressed their objection to the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In Chaung-U Township, local PDFs reported their activities for the last year on Wednesday.
  • In Khin-U Township, the junta armed forces have been burning villages and local people have had to run away. On Thursday morning, Sangha Myitta donated 37 bags of rice and four buckets of oil for 700 displaced people.
  • In Monywa, there was gunfire in a tea shop on Wednesday evening. Reportedly, three men died in the incident.
  • In Myaung Township, local PDFs attacked the junta army which had raided Shwebontha Village.
  • On the border of Yinmabin Township and Pale Township, the junta army was attacked with mines by local PDFs on Thursday morning.
  • On Wednesday morning, the junta army fired from six military helicopters at Yinbaungdine Village on the border of Yinmabin Township and Pale Township. Reportedly, they arrested 37 men and shot dead two women.
  • In Indaw Township, the junta army conducted air strikes on some villages on Thursday afternoon. Reportedly, some houses were damaged.
  • At about 1:00 pm on Wednesday, a guerrilla force attacked the junta inspection gate on the way out of Indaw. Reportedly, a member of the junta police died and another one was injured.
  • In Sagaing Township, two military trucks were attacked with mines by PDFs between Ohndaw and Sardaung on Tuesday. Reportedly, over 40 junta soldiers died.
  • In Wetlet Township, the junta army set fire to Thitsaimtgyi Village Group on 16 October. Reportedly, nearly 40 people’s houses were burnt down to ashes.
  • In Gantgaw Township in Magwe Region, a fully-armed policeman from Kan Village joined the CDM. Reportedly, he was rewarded with 50 lakh MMK on Thursday morning.
  • In Pauk Township, a combined force of the Anonymous Special Task Force – Pauk and PDFs conducted a bomb attack using drones on the junta army which had burnt down local villages and killed a CDM teacher in Taungmyint Village.
  • In Natmauk Township, the junta army set fire to Fettawye Village again on Wednesday night. They also arrested and ill-treated 120 local people.
  • In Yenangyaung Township, 40mm grenades were fired at the junta electricity office on Wednesday night.
  • On Thursday morning, 100 junta soldiers in nine military trucks left Mandalay and stationed themselves in Thabyetha Village on the border of Ngazun Township and Myingyan Township. Reportedly, they have been combing the area near Natchodaw Village.
  • In Madayar Township in Mandalay Region, Aung Gyi, the junta administrator of Oatpho Village, was assassinated by PDFs on Wednesday morning and his gun was confiscated.
  • In Ayeyarwady Region, U San Aye, a political prisoner in Pathein Jail, passed away suddenly on 17 October.
  • In Thonese in Bago Region, the administrator of Letpankone Ward and his wife were shot at about 9:00 am Wednesday.
  • In Kyaukgyi Township, the junta army was hit with mines on Tuesday morning. Reportedly, four junta soldiers died.
  • In Myawaddy in Kayin State, there was a bomb explosion in front of a pawnbroker’s shop in Ward (2) on Thursday morning. Reportedly, there was some damage.
  • In Muse (105 Mile) in Shan north, military officer Pyi Phyo Aung and another one were attacked by People’s Security and Defence Army.
  • In Shan South, two junta soldiers defected to Pekone PDF.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Chin State, no less than 25 junta soldiers died in local battles between Hakha and Thantlang from 13 to 18 October. As for local defence forces, they lost four members.
  • From 23 to 25 October, there will be an online concert to raise funds for CDF–Matupi.
  • The spokesperson of the Karen National Union (KNU) said that it was necessary for a revolutionary force to stand for the public under current circumstances if they would like to be remembered in history.

The Military Council

  • On Wednesday, the 2022 Mid-Year Gems Emporium kicked off at Maniyadanar Jade Hall in Naypyidaw. Junta leader Min Aung Hlaing attended.
  • The junta Minister of Home Affairs financially supported the victims of the bomb explosion in Insein Prison and their family members.
  • After the bomb explosion in Insein Prison, delivery services have been closed indefinitely in prisons all over the country under the direct instruction of the junta Ministry of Home Affairs.
  • After the bomb explosion in Insein Prison, the junta special courts inside the prison were closed for a week.

  • According to the junta committee, 10 million gallons of fuel oil were still being unloaded at Thilawa Port on Wednesday.
  • In Hakha Township in Chin State, the mortars shot by junta soldiers fell and exploded in Bonlon Village on Wednesday afternoon. According to The Chin Journal, two children lost their lives in the incident.
  • In Yatsaut Township in Shan South, there was fighting on Tuesday. Reportedly, the junta army did not let local people leave the village and they were preparing for a military operation in the area.
