The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • In a government meeting on Tuesday, the NUG Acting President stated that the NUG recognises that China is holding negotiations about Myanmar’s affairs.
  • On Tuesday, there was a meeting between the NUG Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration and People’s Administrative Teams from regions such as Sagaing, Magwe, Bago, Taninthayi, Ayeyarwady, Yangon and Mandalay. There, the Minister stated that they have been preparing policies to form township-level committees.
  • In a press conference related to Myanmar’s Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE) on Monday, the NUG Minister of Planning, Finance and Investment claimed that European Union sanctions have had an impact on the export of oil and gas, an income source for the military junta, and that about $200 million USD failed to reach them.
  • The NUG sent a letter to PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited owned by Thailand to share information related to the Yadanar Project.
  • The NUG Deputy Minister of Education stated that the NUG can thwart those who want to destroy interim education in a clever way.
  • According to the NUG Ministry of Defence, the junta armed forces invading Shan South and Karenni lost over 88 junta soldiers including officers. Reportedly, 10 others were injured and six members gave up their arms.
  • On Tuesday morning, there was a regular online meeting of the Interim Committee under the National League for Democracy (NLD). Reportedly, it unanimously agreed to 11 points including the release of all political prisoners such as Daw Aung Su Kyi and U Win Myint, the focus on the desire of ethnic people when building a federal democratic union and statements and activities by the Central Committee.
  • According to the NUG Ministry of Defence, there was a battle in Daung Ngankha Village of Demoso Township in Karenni State on Monday morning. Reportedly, three junta soldiers died.
  • In the Revolution Thingyan Slogan Competition by Delta News Agency, Public Voice Television (PPTV) will award a million MMK for the prize which can best reflect the public’s voices.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Sagaing Region, a rally from Yin Mar Bin North marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Tuesday.
  • In Myaung Township, the junta army raided Pannyo Village on Tuesday morning and set fire to people’s houses.
  • For fire victims in Sagaing Region, the S&C Team has been building houses. Reportedly, they have completed 500 houses so far.
  • In Yankin Township in Yangon Region, there was a bomb explosion in a compound of police housing in Ward (16) at about 9:30 pm on Monday.
  • In Sanchaung Township, Wint Moe Aung, a second-year medical university student and allegedly a leader of the arrested CDM students and teachers, and his aunt were shot on Monday evening. Reportedly, the medical student died.
  • In Thanlyin, the junta army arrested the director Steel Dway Myitter at his house on Monday afternoon.
  • In Yesagyo Township in Magway Region, the junta army raided Yelegyun Meelaunggyun Village on Monday morning and set fire to people’s houses. Reportedly, a villager was shot dead, a young man was injured and over 70 local people were arrested and used as human shields.
  • In Pauk Township in Magway Region, the junta army raided the PDF Regiment (14) camp at about 9:30 am on 17 March. Reportedly, they burnt the camp down.
  • In Chanaye Thazan Township in Mandalay Region, there was an attack via hand-made bomb at the regional office of transportation was attacked with homemade bombs at 11:05 am on Monday. Reportedly, the second supervisor and four other staff members were injured.
  • On Monday, Hlaing Min Oo; the administrator of Myintha Taung Village in Kyaukbadaung Township, and Thar Maung; the administrator of Magyibin Village in Taungthar Township, were shot dead.
  • In Myingyan Township, there was a mine attack on a car of 10 junta policemen at about 3:00 pm on Sunday. Reportedly, six of them died.
  • In Thanphyu Zayat Township in Mon State, the local revolutionary force conducted a mine attack on two military trucks between Wekami Village and Pyaung Thayar Village at about 2:00 pm on Monday.
  • On Monday, the Joe Phyu Revolution Force based in Shan South announced that it had started its second-round urban operation.
  • The revolutionary forces and urban guerrillas called on the public not to take part in military junta Thingyan celebrations.
  • In the area under Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade (6), the Saw Dragon Drone Force conducted a fund-raising raffle campaign for the procurement of advanced drones. However, they have achieved only 20% of their target. So, they have called for more public participation.
  • On Monday, local and international Karenni organisations released a joint statement condemning the junta’s massacre of civilians in Nam Nein Village in Pinlaung Township in Shan South.
  • The Special Envoy of the United Nations Human Rights to Myanmar claimed that it is necessary to prohibit companies and governments from providing investigative technology to the military junta.
  • The new Foreign Minister of Malaysia stated that it will not recognize Myanmar’s military junta and will put pressure from various perspectives for the implementation of the ASEAN Consensus.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Kyaikto Township in Mon State, a combined force of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and PDFs conducted a bomb attack using drones on the headquarters of junta army Regiment (44) and the house of the commander at about 10:00 am on Tuesday. Reportedly, there might have been casualties and damage.
  • On the border of Beelin Township and Kyaikto Township, a combined force of the KNU and PDFs attacked the junta’s Thantar Gate at about 10:00 am on Monday.
  • In the area under the control of KNU Brigade (5) in Kayin State, 31 junta soldiers died in local battles from 1 to 15 March.
  • To fight a large number of the junta armed forces invading Karenni State, the Karenni Revolutionary Forces called on the public to contribute to the 10,000 lakh MMK project within 21 days.
  • Under the political guidance of the Pa-O National Federal Council, the PPDF-KD announced on Tuesday that it will recruit new members.
  • According to a spokesperson of the Chin National Defence Force, a military convoy, that left Kalay in Sagaing Region for Chin State, was on its way to Hakha via Falam on Tuesday morning.
  • Recently, military tensions have intensified on the Myeik-Mawtaung Road. So, the KTLA Commando and the Peacock Special Force warned the public not to use the road unless necessary.

The Military Council

  • At a meeting in Sagaing Region on Monday, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing stated that it is necessary to import edible oil and fuel oil so, fuel oil usage needs to be reduced.
  • The junta Central Bank of Myanmar announced that it will identify and take action against those making the local gold market fluctuate.
  • Regarding activities to increase local gold prices, the junta Yangon Regional Gold Enterprise Association and Mandalay Regional Gold Enterprise Association released statements on Tuesday.
  • According to the junta propaganda newspaper, two more EV charging stations were opened at Thakhin Mya Park in Alone Township and at mile one of the Highway in Hleku Township on Monday.
  • On the 4th day of the 58th Myanmar’s Gems Emporium in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday, 77 sets of gems were sold.
  • The junta Union Election Commission stated that up to 32 political parties have applied for registration.
  • In Magway Town, the junta army shot at the non-CDM director of the hydro-power department and his wife on Sunday night for no apparent reason. Reportedly, the wife was injured in her leg.

  • Throughout the country, the anti-junta revolution has had great momentum. In Mon State, there was even a mortar attack on the headquarters of the junta army.
  • The NUG warned that action would be taken against foreign companies that cooperate with the military junta. It might pose hardships for the dictators. The NUG is managing to block off the junta’s income sources step by step.
