The Military Council

  • In the media, the junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun confirmed that local orders had been issued concerning riding motorbikes.
  • According to the junta newspaper, the Ministry of Health purchased (31) million doses of COVID-19 vaccines and allies donated (9,168,800) doses. Therefore, a total of (40,168,800) doses had been in the country.
  • In Bago Region, Kambawza Thadi Palace has been reopened following COVID-19 preventive measures since 10th November; from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm every day. According to the junta media, U Myo Swe Win, junta-appointed regional chief minister, inspected arrangements for more local and international visitors to the palace compound.
  • The junta newspaper said that 3 health staff members had lost lives and 8 others had been injured by PDFs from 1st February to 15th November 2021.
  • Charlie Than, junta-appointed Minister of Industry, said that if factories under the Ministry could produce quality products and sell them at reasonable prices, they would gain a competitive advantage in the market.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing could not join the online summit in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of ASEAN-China relationships on Monday.
  • The military junta expressed their thanks to China, a good neighbouring country, for inviting them to the 30th anniversary of the ASEAN-China relationship.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investments- NUG announced that there was no need to worry at all as personal information of buyers would be kept confidential with the use of special technology. They also called for cooperation with trust.
  • Dr. Tukaung, Minister of the NUG, would join ASEAN Climate Exchange, together with other ministers from Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam.
  • In Thanphyu Zayat Township of Mon State, the sea water level rose suddenly while pilgrims of Kyeikne water-surrounding pagoda were crossing the waterway. Consequently, 15 pilgrims lost lives in water and 30 others were missing. Regarding the incident, the NUG expressed their deep sorrow and offered their sincere condolences to family members.
  • Ministry of Defence- NUG announced that 2 soldiers had made contact on Monday to join the public as they could no longer accept the military dictatorship.

Revolution Activities

  • Reportedly, 38 journalists are still in detention by the military junta, under various charges of defaming the State, contacting blacklisted organizations, broadcasting false news, writing and producing the news that makes the public misunderstand the junta army, terrorism and persuading the staff to join the CDM.
  • In Indaw Township of Sagaing Region, a female journalist was beaten and arrested by the junta army 3 days ago. Reportedly, she has been out of touch with her family since then.
  • As 257-day protest, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • In a village of Shwebo Township, there was a protest against the military dictatorship on Monday morning.
  • According to the Burmese Students’ Organization of local PDF, they raided the police camp near the Tamu immigration office and burnt it at about 12:00 am Monday.
  • As 288-day protest, Kalay people marched against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • On Sunday morning, an alliance of local PDFs made an attack at Kyaukpyote village on the Sagaing-Magwe border, where the junta armed forces and Pyusawti groups had been stationing. Reportedly, there was heavy fighting, killing 5 junta soldiers. According to PDF Kalay, they lost two members.
  • At about 6:30 pm Sunday, a combined force of PDF Zoland and CDM - Siyin( CDF-KKG) conducted an attack at the junta army regiment (644) of military weapons.
  • In Kani Township, local PDF attacked the junta army invading a small rural area named Yinyain. According to a focal person of KPDF (1), the military junta used military helicopters.
  • On Sunday evening, there was fighting between the junta army and local guerrilla forces near the villages in Kani Township. According to DRPA, a supporting military vehicle was burnt down.
  • On Monday, Mandalay Monks’ Union conducted an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • On Monday, a combined rally of Mandalay variety forces and LGBT protested against the military dictatorship.
  • According to residents, it was like breaking the rice-pot of the public as the military junta issued unlawful orders related to motorbikes in Mandalay with the main use of motorbikes.
  • In South Dagon Township, the students’ union led a movement on Monday, hanging a banner against the junta army.
  • In Latha Township- downtown area of Yangon, the basic education students’ union marched on Maha Bandula road on Monday and expressed their desire against the military dictatorship.
  • In Hleku Township, the junta army stationing at Myoma Yanaung hall shot dead a civilian at about 2:00 am Monday.
  • According to YDF, 11 junta soldiers, including a captain, died in Gantgaw of Magwe Region.
  • In Bamaw of Kachin State, a police camp near Y2K traffic lights was shot at about 9:00 am Monday. Reportedly, a policeman died and two others were injured.
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, the junta army was attacked with mines near Jell mountain on Sunday morning. After the incident, security measures were tightened in the area. According to residents, a motorbiker was shot dead by junta soldiers for no apparent reason in Minyat village. Moreover, the junta army stationing in Baw-In village arrested two residents.
  • According to a guerrilla force in Taninthayi Region, a rubber plantation workshop, owned by Nyaungbingwin-based junta army, was set on fire at about 4:00 pm Sunday.
  • In Pathein of Ayeyarwaddy Region, there was an explosion at the junta engineering army (907) near Thayetgone village at about 9:45 am Monday.
  • In Kangyidaunk, there was a bomb explosion at the house of U Than Soe, allegedly a junta informer in Kyudan village group, at about 6:00 pm Sunday.
  • In Chaungtha of Pathein Township, a woman aged 60, resident of Ward (2), was arrested on Sunday, with the accusation of having contact with PDFs. Reportedly, her house was sealed off as well.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Thatone Township of Mon State, there was a battle between the junta army and a combined force of KNLA + local guerrilla forces at about 11:00 am Monday. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died and no less than 4 others were injured.
  • According to the Kokang, over 20 junta soldiers died in the battles in Monekoe area of Shan North on Sunday and a lot of their weapons were confiscated by MNDAA.

Summary on 23rd November

  • The junta leader was not allowed to join the ASEAN-China summit. Regarding it, the military junta announced that they could not attend it despite the invitation of China and expressed their thanks to China for inviting them. They also claimed that 5 countries in Mekong Region stand with Myanmar and blamed others for holding different views.
  • At such time, a minister of the NUG was invited to ASEAN Climate Exchange. It was organized by other ASEAN countries as mentioned by the military junta.
  • In Sagaing, Ayeyarwaddy, Magwe, Chin, Shan North and Kayin, there were battles as well as activities of guerrilla revolution. As for Mandalay, Yangon and Dawei, they had some protests. As for the military junta, they have been arresting and killing civilians all over the country.
