The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The Public Health Department under Salingyi Township People’s Administration has been providing health care services to the displaced people.
  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs-NUG announced that the sanctions of the US on the military junta not only support the people’s establishment of a free democratic union but also help regional stability.
  • At 3:00 pm Thursday, there was a meeting between Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration-NUG and District People’s Administration.
  • On 20 June, there was a meeting via video conferencing between Committee on Women, Youth and Children under Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the Ministry of Economics and Commerce-NUG. They then discussed contribution to self-help businesses of the displaced women and young people.
  • The PDF Military Headquarters released the photos containing the collective training of women comrades from Yangon Sub-Regional PDF (5101) under Ministry of Defence-NUG.
  • According to the Ministry of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Risks Management-NUG, the monsoon has been strong at the Bay of Bengal with the possibility of heavy rainfalls in coastal areas and in the northern areas and thus, it is necessary to take caution over floods.

Revolution Activities

  • In Muse of Shan North, there was an attack on the car of junta soldiers and members of Lonetan Militia on their patrol near the high school in Honar Ward at about 6:00 pm Thursday. According to local sources, a member of the militia died and another one was injured.
  • In Htilin of Magwe Region, junta troops were faced with a mine attack on their way out of the city hall at about 8:00 am Wednesday. Reportedly, there were casualties among them.
  • In Minbu Township, Min Thu Hlaing, allegedly a Pyusawti member and crime journalist working for the junta army, was shot dead in Htauk Shar Bin Village.
  • In Madayar Township of Mandalay Region, a member of Thwe Thauk Armed Group was shot dead in Sharzay Chatgyi Village.
  • In Yinmabin Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army arrested a social worker helping with the access of water for the displaced people.
  • In Salingyi Township, the junta army killed 14 people from Nyaungbingyi Village Tract and arrested more than 30 others.
  • On Friday morning, a combined rally of Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship, holding anti-junta signs against fear.
  • In Kyaikto Township of Mon State, U Ye Naing Aung (alias) Maths Ye Naing, a member of the junta local administration, was shot.
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, there was an attack on the junta army on secret patrol. Reportedly, a junta soldier died and a gun was confiscated.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • According to Karen National Union (Central), 46 junta soldiers died, more than 40 others were injured and 3 others were caught as prisoners of war in local battles in May.
  • In Chin State, the junta army has not crossed Thimit Plain yet on their way from Hakha Township to Thanglang.
  • In Kawkarait Township under the KNU Brigade (6) in Kayin State, Black Leopard Battalion attacked Yekukan junta army camp, killing 8 junta soldiers.

The Military Council

  • In Kantbalu Township of Sagaing Region, Kyaw Myo Htwe, a non-CDM staff member of the junta Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, had been arrested by a local PDF. Regarding it, the junta Minister remarked that they did not take responsibility as the incident occurred on his way back to his wife.
  • The Facebook page of the junta Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development has been hacked and it has been broadcasting obscene movies and photos on a daily basis. Reportedly, the military junta has not yet been able to get it back.
  • According to the junta Central Bank, the foreign currency sale has been conducted through online trading and the 6 banks with AD License have joined the programme with 2920-2922 MMK per USD. Reportedly, the banks will be able to carry out currency exchange services only when they are permitted.

Summary on 24 June

  • No sooner had the US placed sanctions on the two junta banks than the junta Central Bank placed control on all the foreign currency exchange services. Consequently, the price of dollar has surged in the market, only with a high demand, not any sale.
