The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • According to Click2Donate, they earned nearly 5,300 lakh MMK in March and donated it to 34 forces.
  • According to the Chair of Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw- CRPH, there was an attempt to defame the revolution with the rumour that the National League for Democracy-NLD was no longer in the National Unity Consultative Council-NUCC.
  • According to Shan South Revolution Force Brigade (1008), the military junta has been using the weapon of division among the public successively. They also called on all ethnic people all over the country to be cautious not to let this dividing strategy be successful.

Revolution Activities

  • In Bogale Township of Ayeyarwaddy Region, a local PDF conducted a bomb attack on the house of U Kyi Win, the junta administrator of Satsan Village, at 5:30 am Sunday.
  • As a 439-day protest, a combined rally of villagers from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • In Pale Township of Sagaing Region, the People’s Strike Committee marched for the end of the military dictatorship on Monday, raising a banner for all-inclusive revolution.
  • In Shwebo Township, a rally of villagers protested against the military dictators and their blood-stained financial sources.
  • On Monday, local residents of Latbadaung Taung Area called on Chevron, an American investor of Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise, not to pay taxes to the military junta.
  • According to Tantse PDF on Sunday night, 13 junta soldiers died and more than 20 others were seriously injured in two battles in their township.
  • In Monywa Township, DGF LC guerrilla force carried out a mine attack on the transformer in the compound of the junta timber enterprise office at 8:10 pm Sunday in order to stop their operation.
  • In Minkin Township, 4 junta soldiers lost their legs near Tegyi Village at 9:00 am Sunday as they stepped on mines.
  • In Minkin Township, a contingent of 100 junta soldiers raided Linponeyi Village at about 10:00 am Sunday and took away valuable property such as the village fund, gold and money.
  • According to Monywa Black Hunter People's Task Force, they assassinated 4 Pyusawti members who had been ill-treating local people with their weapons supported by the military junta in Chaung-U Township and Monywa Township.
  • In Dibeyin Township, the junta army set fire to Nagadwin Village starting from Sunday morning.
  • In Gantgaw Township of Magwe Region, there was a fighting near Sanmyo Village at about 1:00 pm Saturday. Reportedly, 5 junta soldiers and Pyusawti members died.
  • In Pakkoku Township, local PDFs attacked the junta army invading towards the west of Mount Tantgyi. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died and about 20 others were injured.
  • In Minbu, U Sein Thaung, the junta administrator of Ward (4), was assassinated by local PDF at his house at 6:00 pm Sunday.
  • In Thayawaddy Township of Bago Region, a combined force of local PDFs conducted a mine attack on the rice mill, owned by U Myint Thein in Goneminmyaung Village, at 3:00 am Monday for supplying rice to the junta army Ka-La-Ya (35).
  • In Mandalay, there were bomb explosions near the District Court and Zaycho Market at about 9:00 am Sunday. Reportedly, there was no damage or casualties.
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, local people protested against the military dictatorship on Monday, calling on Total and Chevron companies to cut the financial flow into Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise under the control of the military junta.
  • In Tandabin Township of Yangon Region, From Zero to Hero Urban Guerrilla group assassinated two Pyusawti members, a father and son, who had been threatening villagers that there would be power cuts if the electricity bills were not paid.
  • On the Shan-Kayah border, there was a fighting between the junta army and Mobye PDF at about 4:00 pm Sunday.
  • In Taunggyi of Shan South, a banner against the junta armed forces was placed on the fence of No. (1) Basic Education High School on Monday morning.
  • In Hpakant of Kachin State, local people marched against the military dictatorship on Monday. They also showed their support for the KIA, PDF and NUG.
  • Operation Spitfire released a list of 10 pilots of ATR military planes which have been carrying junta soldiers and weapons for battles against the public.
  • Reportedly, Myanmar people in Japan called on the US to give up the ASEAN 5-point consensus, which did not work, and put sanctions on Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise, a financial resource of the military junta.
  • In Melbourne Australia, Myanmar people called on the government to end their relationship with the military junta and for recognition of the NUG in front of the venue where the Australia-ASEAN Economic Forum was being held.
  • In Japan, Myanmar people called on the US President, who was on a trip to Tokyo, to provide help in Myanmar affairs.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Bawlake Township of Kayah State, Karenni Army-KA and Karenni National Defence Force-KNDF conducted a guerrilla attack on a military convoy at 3:00 pm Sunday.
  • In Fruso Township of Karenni State, there was a battle between the junta army and KNDF on Sunday. Reportedly, some military vehicles were damaged and there were casualties among junta soldiers.
  • In Mindat of Chin State, local CDF attacked the junta army at 10:00 pm Sunday. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died.
  • In Mone Township under the control of Karen National Union-KNU Brigade (3), local KNU announced on Saturday that villagers were to seek permission from township administration if they want to do anything in the area and follow the rules and regulations.
  • In Hpakant Township of Kachin State, there was a heavy fighting between the junta army and Kachin Independent Army-KIA + PDF near Kayinchaung mining field on Monday.

The Military Council

  • According to the military junta, there was a meeting between the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing and a delegation led by Vice Chair Naing Aung Min from New Mon State Party, an ethnic armed organization which has signed the National Ceasefire Agreement-NCA, in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday. Reportedly, they agreed on drawing up a constitution for a federal union and a state constitution for self-determination.
  • In Yangon, the second junta leader Soe Win awarded certificates to 20 monks who had passed the 74 th religious examination by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture.
  • According to the junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun, U Zaw Htay, Spokesperson of President’s Office and Director General of the State Counsellor Office in the tenure of the NLD government, passed away due to heart disease on Monday morning.
  • On Sunday, the military junta and RCSS signed agreements following their 3-day peace discussions.

Summary on 23 May

  • According to the RCSS, the junta peace discussions was just on the signing of two of the points agreed in the 21 st Century Panglong Conference organized by the NLD government. Judging from that, their discussion was not in accordance with the incentive of Min Aung Hlaing and it was just a revision of the former discussions.
  • As for Karenni State, they had heavy battles against the junta army. The same was true for Kachin State between KIA and the junta armed forces. In addition, the news came out that the military junta had been preparing for an invasion into Rakhine State. So, there might also be battles in the area.
  • In Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces have been setting fire to villages regularly and thus, thousands of local residents have been in trouble.
