Spring Revolution Daily News for 25 March 2023 

The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • At 6:00 pm Wednesday, there was a meeting via video conferencing between the Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and Committee Representing Chin Hluttaw (CRCH) to promote their cooperation related to parliament activities. 
  • At 3:00 pm Thursday, there was a meeting (2/2023) between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration and District People’s Administrative Teams. 
  • In commemoration of the two-year anniversary of the Federal Democracy Charter, there will be live sessions of online discussion on the media pages of the NUG and the NUCC at 6:00 pm on 24, 26, 28, 30 March and 1 April. 
  • At the schools opened by the NUG in Pale Township, there were health talks along with providing anti-worm tablets. 

Revolution Activities 

  • The US Government stated that the backing up of Russia for Myanmar’s junta army can cause instability in the ASEAN Region. 
  • In Kantbalu Township of Sagaing Region, there was a rally of villagers against the military dictatorship on Friday. 
  • On Friday, a combined rally of local villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched for the end of the military dictatorship. 
  • In Monywa Township, there was a mine attack via variety mines on the junta army. Reportedly, 6 junta soldiers died. 
  • In Kantbalu Township, the junta army burnt a mentally-ill person to death in Nyaungzingyi Village. 
  • On Friday, a rally of Yinmabin North marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship. 
  • In Kalay, 2 junta soldiers were shot while they were on their way out for shopping. Reportedly, one of them died and the other one was seriously injured. 
  • In Hpakant of Kachin State, local people marched against the military dictatorship on Friday. They also showed their support for the KIA, PDF and NUG. 
  • On Friday morning, there was a bomb explosion along with gunfire near Gade (2) of Insein Prison in Yangon Region. 
  • In Yesagyo Township of Magwe Region, there was a battle between two local villages, killing 5 junta soldiers. 
  • Revolution Echo Wave will release their second album of revolution songs on 27 March. 
  • To provide more support for the revolution, Lights of the Future Group has been organizing fund-raising football matches. 

Ethnic Armed Organizations 

  • In KyarIn Seikgyi under control of Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade (6) in Kayin State, a combined force of the KNLA and the PDF attacked a junta army troop contingent on their way to carry injured soldiers and send rations. According to Special Operation Force, 10 junta soldiers including their second commander died. 
  • In Shweku Township of Kachin State, there has been heavy fighting between the junta army and Kachin Independence Army (KIA) near Simaw Village. Reportedly, the officer Aung Aung, the second commander of the junta army troop, was seriously injured. 
  • In Bawlake District of Karenni State, the junta army conducted air strikes via fighter jets on the places of the civilians. Consequently, 2 local people lost their lives and 3 others were injured. 

The Military Council 

  • According to the junta propaganda newspapers, up to 40 political parties re-registered at the junta Union Election Commission. 
  • On Wednesday, there was a meeting between the junta’s National Unity and Peace Coordination Committee and the three members of the Northern Alliance in Nay Pyi Taw for local stability and the election. Reportedly, they signed an agreement on Thursday. 
  • Accompanied by junta soldiers, the junta staff from the Agricultural Bank threatened farmers in Shwetaung Township of Bago Region to repay their agricultural loans by 29 March at the latest or their farmland will be confiscated for bid sales. 
  • From 17 to 21 March, 2150 sets of jade were on sale in the emporium at Mani Yadanar Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw. Among them, 1544 ones were sold. 
  • According to the junta Trade Department, the import license must be obtained first before all the imported goods arrive at the port. 
  • The junta UMFCCI stated that business people from China introduced electricity storage tanks. 
  • According to the junta Ministry of Labour, more than 210,000 people went abroad with Overseas Worker Identification Cards (OWIC) between 1 February 2021 to 1 February 2023. 

Summary on 24 March 

  • Through the discussion with the Northern Alliance, the military junta has been trying for no more new battlefields. On the other hand, a large number of the junta armed forces have been invading the areas with powerful revolution. In other words, they have been making an effort to rule the country. 
  • In the upcountry area, Karenni State and Kayin State, the military junta has had a great loss including their officers.
