Spring Revolution Daily News for 25 November 2023 

The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • Starting from 9:00 am on 25 November, the Ministry of Women, Youth and Children-NUG will conduct a 16-day movement to protect women and girls from violence. 
  • In Sagaing Region, Salingyi Township Public’s Administration-NUG provided financial support to the women members of local PDF from the taxes they collected. 
  • On Thursday, the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration conducted a meeting. 
  • Union Minister of Foreign Affairs-NUG stated that contrary to the government on air, they have carried out the revolution online, raised funds online, set up a bank online, yet they have not been far from the public on the ground. 

Revolution Activities 

  • In Sagaing of Sagaing Region, the PAFD set fire and blew up the meeting hall of the junta departments in the middle of District Agricultural Compound. 
  • In Myothit Town of Tamu District, local PDFs attacked and took control of a camp belonging to the junta army and Pyusawti Militia. They then burnt it. 
  • In Ye-U Township, local PDFs attacked the junta soldiers and Pyusawti members in Aung Tharyar Village. Reportedly, they caught a junta soldier and 6 militia members alive. 
  • In Kani Township, local revolution forces managed to gain control of the junta camp in Seywar Chaung Area after the attack for two consecutive days. 
  • In North Okkalapa and South Okkalapa of Yangon Region, there were attacks with powerful mines on the junta soldiers taking security at the junta electricity departments. 
  • In Yay Township of Mon State, there were exchanges of fire between the junta army and Yay Balu Force in Yan Myo Aung Ward. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers were injured and two of them died later at hospital. 
  • In the town of Three Pagoda Pass on Thai-Myanmar border, Red Dragon Column shot at a junta colonel. 
  • In Magwe Region, a policeman from the junta’s Pakkoku Myoma Police Station defected to the revolution force along with weapons. Despite little funds, the PDF borrowed some money and rewarded him with 80 lakh MMK. 
  • In Myingyan Township of Mandalay Region, there was a mine attack on a junta troop contingent on their way back after taking security at a wedding reception. Reportedly, there were casualties among junta soldiers. 

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) 

  • In Lashio Township of Northern Shan State, Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) took control of the junta’s Maikyat Camp. 
  • In Matupi Township of Chin State, Chin revolution forces gained control of the junta army camp in the town of Lailinpi. 
  • In Rakhine State, Arakan Army (AA) rescued another 100 residents of Kyauktaw, whom had been arrested by the junta army as human shields. 
  • According to the Kokang, the junta army has constantly used chemical (poison) bombs in local battles in Operation 1027 by the Three Brotherhood of Northern Alliance in Northern Shan State. 
  • Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) warned that the refugees from Lauk Kaing need to take caution so that they will not be used as human shields by the junta army with inhumane and violent activities. 
  • In Muse Township of Northern Shan State, the junta army dropped 500-pound bombs via fighter jet on Selant Village. 
  • Karenni State Consultative Council called for the usage of Karenni State instead of Kayah State. 

The Military Council 

  • Under the invitation of the junta’s Commander in Chief of Air Force, Punpakdee Pattanakul, the Air Chief of Thai Royal Army, arrived in Naypyidaw on 22 November. 
  • Under various names of movie production, the 7th Sense, owned by the daughter of the junta leader Khin Thiri Thet Mon, is trying to show ‘Kankaung’ movie by so-called Kattiya Production. 
  • In Myanmar, the special fund programme of the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation and four projects including agriculture and livestock will be implemented. 
  • In Yangon Region, the junta’s Investment Committee approved 3 new investments. 
  • Brigadier General Tun Tun Myint, the junta’s acting chair of Kokang Area, told the departmental staff to carry out their duty actively despite local instability. 
  • The junta spokesman Major General Zaw Min Tun claimed that there were just regular patrols in Yangon and their armed forces have not stationed at schools. 

Summary on 25 November 

  • Chin revolution forces gained control of the junta army camp in Lailinpi Town. At the same time, the Alliance took control of the junta’s main camps in Northern Shan State. 
  • The junta spokesperson just released false news to contrary of reality. He may not know the real situation on the ground or he may have told lies openly to the public.
