Spring Revolution Daily News for 25 October 2022 

The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • On the special occasion of Diwali on Monday, the Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) sent a statement with best wishes for all Hindu people from around the world and the public in Myanmar. They also called for a collective effort to fight against the military dictatorship and go through the darkest time towards a bright future. 
  • On Sunday, there was a meeting between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration and public administration teams from special administrative areas. Reportedly, they discussed various sectors such as finance, electricity, transportation, tax, defence, health, education, judiciary affairs, natural resources and environmental conservation. 
  • According to the NUG, nearly 40 members of the junta armed forces died in battles on Sunday alone. 
  • The CRPH claimed that Myanmar people have to face ruthless murder and brutal treatment on a daily basis because of the failure of the international community to take action against the military junta. 
  • In Myaung Township of Sagaing Region, there was a lawsuit against eight people at the NUG public court for killing a member of a local PDF. 

Revolutionary Activities 

  • Somewhere in Yangon, an alliance of Basic Education Students’ Unions conducted an anti-junta movement on Monday. 
  • In some townships of the Yangon Region; Mingalar Taung Nyunt, Bahan, Dawbone, South Okkala and Insein, there were explosions and gunfire on Sunday night. 
  • In Sagaing Region, a combined rally of villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship on Monday. 
  • In Kantbalu Township, the junta armed forces set fire to three local villages on Monday morning. 
  • On the Monywa-Mandalay Road, a sniper attacked the junta army during a mine clearance operation at about 10:00 am on Monday. Reportedly, a junta soldier died. 
  • In Shwebo District, S&C opened their second CDM school. Reportedly, it is in need of desks and stationery. 
  • For the areas in Sagaing Region with an internet blackout, the combined rally of Salingyi and Yinmabin, in cooperation with the Yadanarbone University Students’ Union, would issue newsletter called Public’s Liberation. 
  • In Arizona in the United States, there was a fund-raising sale for tough and light uniforms for Kalay PDF Battalion (12). 
  • On the Mandalay-PyinOoLwin Road, 15 junta soldiers were attacked with mines by Generation Z Power on Sunday morning. 
  • Reportedly, four of them died and the others were seriously injured. 
  • In Yesagyo Township in Magwe Region and Myinmu Township in Sagaing Region, some road sections have been temporarily closed by local PDFs starting from Monday morning. 
  • On Sunday, Saw Township PDF Battalion (2) celebrated their one-year anniversary and completed a training on military strategies. 
  • In Kyankhine Township in Ayeyarwady Region, there was a bomb attack on the junta military security office at 8:35 pm on Saturday.

  • In Hpakant in Kachin State, Basic Education Students’ Union marched against the military dictatorship on Monday. 
  • PDFs expressed their sorrow for a large number of casualties among civilians and artists in Hpakant Township on Sunday night. 
  • Yay Township PDF stated that they would take action against the junta army for air strikes, which had caused many casualties among the public and artists in Hpakant Township in Kachin State on Sunday night. 
  • According to Pekone Township PDF on Sunday, a soldier from the junta army Ka-La-Ya (1) joined the CDM. 
  • According to a group of former political prisoners, detainees with health problems would be impacted more as the junta prison departments closed the delivery services for inmates. 
  • In New York in the United States, the film- ‘The Road Not Taken’ by Director Ko Pauk was shown and earned over 40,000 USD to fund the revolution. 
  • In Moemauk Township in Kachin State, the junta armed forces constantly dropped bombs via fighter jets on Monday morning. 
  • In Loikaw Township in Karenni State, the junta army fired mortars into an IDP camp in Konetha Village on Sunday night. Reportedly, a displaced person died and three others were injured. 

Ethnic Armed Organisations 

  • In A Nang Pa under the control of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) Brigade (9) in Hpakant Township in Kachin State, a music concert was held on the anniversary of the KIO. At that time, the junta army conducted air strikes using fighter jets. According to KIA sources, up to 60 people lost their lives. 
  • A KIO/KIA representative said that it was an inhumane junta army attack on the music concert, which caused a large number of casualties among artists, business people and the general public. 
  • In Maungdaw Township in Rakhine State, there was fighting between the Arakan Army (AA) and Rohingya Solidarity Organisation (RSO). 
  • In the hills near Laykaykaw New Town the junta army dropped unidentified bombs on Saturday night. 
  • In Demoso Township in Karenni State, U Tin Myint aged 44, a member of a local PDF, was injured in fighting at Puha Village and passed away on 21 October. 
  • On Monday, Southern Region PDF expressed its great sorrow for the junta’s air strikes on the music concert celebrating the 62nd anniversary of the Kachin Independence Organisation (KIO). They also called for unity to uproot the common enemy. 

The Military Council 

  • On the 5th day of 2022 Mid-Year Gems Emporium in Naypyidaw 665 sets of jade were sold. 
  • According to the junta micro-industrial department, registered micro-industrial businesses were granted tax exemption if their income is less than 100 lakh MMK for three years of operation. 
  • In Kawkareik Township in Kayin State, the junta army dropped bombs from fighter jets on Monday morning. 
  • In Longlone Township and Thayetchaung Township in Tanintharyi Region, the junta army killed four local people and arrested 15 others in recent days. 
  • In Tightgyi Township in Yangon Region, a combination of junta forces have been combing the area because of the news of a white elephant. 
  • The military junta instructed all junta armed forces throughout the country to organise non-stop religious prayers. 

Summary on 25 October 

  • Even though there was no fighting in the area, the junta army conducted an air strike on a concert in Kachin State using fighter jets. It was a war crime and genocide. As a matter of fact, it has been the most terrible war crime committed by the junta. 
  • In anti-junta areas, junta armed forces have been conducting aerial bombings, burning villages and killing people without any hesitation. Consequently, the number of casualties among innocent civilians has been on the rise every day.
