The National Unity Government (NUG)

 

  • In accordance with the right to self-defence, the public have been taking part in a People’s Defensive War. According to Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration-NUG, 73 members of the junta armed forces died and 56 others were injured on Friday.
  • In cooperation with Pao National Federal Council-PNFC, the Ministry of Education-NUG conducted the opening ceremony of the interim basic education online school.
  • The National Unity Consultative Council-NUCC expressed their sorrow about violent attacks of the junta armed forces on a self-help school in Letyatgone Village on 16 September in which 13 people including 7 children lost lives whereas over 20 injured students and teachers had been arrested.

Revolution Activities

  • In the speech at the 77th United Nations General Assembly, Prime Minister of Malaysia stated that it was disheartening the UN Security Council could not take serious action against the military coup in Myanmar and it was necessary to abolish the ASEAN Consensus related to Myanmar.
  • In the speech at the UN General Assembly, President of East Timor raised the question why the international community did not help Myanmar people like they were helping in Ukraine. He also pointed out that the general public in Myanmar lost lives due to lack of such assistance.
  • In New York of the United States, a combined rally of Cambodian and Myanmar people marched for human rights, justice, rule of law and democracy as well as for the release of political prisoners and civilians. They also conducted a credential campaign for Myanmar’s Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun in front of the UN Headquarters.
  • In Tamway Township of Yangon Region, Urban Guerrillas-UG carried out a mine attack on the junta administration office of Tamwaygyi Ka Ward on Saturday morning.
  • Even amidst the tight security measures of the junta armed forces in Yangon on Saturday, there was an anti-junta movement with a banner calling for participation of the general public in the revolution.
  • On Saturday, Yangon youth hung an anti-junta banner against violent activities of the junta armed forces.
  • Somewhere in Kachin State, a rally of Ahmanthit Women Union expressed their sorrow for the loss of students from Letyatgone Village. They also conducted a campaign in support of Myanmar’s Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun.
  • As a 595-day protest, a combined rally of Kalay people and students marched for the end of the military dictatorship on Saturday.
  • In the west of Khin-U Township in Sagaing Region, junta soldiers and Pyusawti members opened gunfire and raided Inpart Village on Saturday morning. Reportedly, they set fire to the village.
  • In Kangyidaunt of Ayeyarwaddy Region, over 20 local people were arrested for liking, sharing and commenting on a social media post of an NLD MP.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Phapun District of Kayin State, KNLA Kawthoolei Army Brigade (5) attacked Nat Taung Camp of the junta army based in Butho Township. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died.
  • On the road between Matupi and Hakha in Chin State on Saturday morning, there was a battle between local CDF and the junta army. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers died and many others were injured.
  • In Kawthoolei Administrative Area under the Karen National Union-KNU Brigade (5), there were 6 battles between the junta armed forces and Kawthoolei Army on Friday. According to Mutraw Newsletter, 4 junta soldiers died, 2 others were injured and a military vehicle was damaged.

The Military Council

  • The junta propaganda media stated that the military junta had handed back a PDF member from Naungcho and another one from Thazi, who had not committed any crime, to their parents.
  • The junta media featured the news that a white elephant baby, which was born in 2022, was happy and healthy with its mother.
  • Reportedly, the junta Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation signed a Memorandum of Understanding-MoU with the Federal Fishery Agency of Russia.
  • According to the junta propaganda media, members of so-called Phoenix Guerrilla Force operating in Ngazun Township and Myaung Township were arrested.
  • Reportedly, a delegation from the junta Ministry of Health would attend the workshop on Bio-security held in Vladivostok of the Russian Federation.
  • To counter anti-junta posts on social media and disseminate propaganda news, the military junta has been developing a mobile application for the junta people. Reportedly, there would be no data deducted for its use.
  • Soe Han, the junta Myanmar Ambassador to Japan, will attend the national funeral of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing left instructions to tighten the rules and regulations since a large number of young people have been going abroad. He also said that Myanmar workers abroad must sign a contract agreeing how much percentage of their income they would send back to the country.

Summary on 24 September

  • At the 77th UN General Assembly, international leaders called for action against the military junta. It might pose more challenges for the junta group led by Min Aung Hlaing in international diplomacy.
  • The junta leader has been forcing to buy the income of youth abroad in foreign currency with the minimum exchange rate. It might be more difficult for Myanmar overseas workers to send money back home.
  • Even amidst the oppression of the junta armed forces in Yangon, urban guerrilla activities regained momentum.
