The Military Council

  • A junta newspaper said that U Mg Mg Ohn, the junta minister of Communication, met with artists from Myoma Orchestra at Pullman Hotel in Mandalay and enjoyed their performance.
  • In the statement to 76th anniversary of the United Nations, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing claimed that it was vital for the UN to apply best practices to every nation on equal terms without any political purpose amidst the time of growing suspicion on policies of multi-national cooperation.
  • According to a junta newspaper, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing pinned the gold screw for the jewelled throne for Maya Wizaya Buddha Image in Buddha Park in Dakkina Thiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw.
  • According to the junta media, a meeting between the National Solidarity and Peace-making Committee (NSPC) and political parties was held at NSPC hall in Nay Pyi Taw the previous day.
  • In Ayeyarwaddy Region, the military junta arrested 10 people again in Pathein, including Ma Shwe Yi Win, a freelance journalist who was released in August under the amnesty.
  • The military junta announced that all the schools under the basic education department would be closed until 31st October.
  • The military junta announced on Saturday that they could not accept the policy to dialogue with the National Unity Government (NUG).

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The public has been taking part in the People’s Defensive War. According to the NUG, there were attacks at 18 military targets of the enemy, 24 administration targets and 1 business target on Saturday.
  • Upon completion of military training, U Lwin Ko Latt, Union Minister of Home Affairs and Immigration- NUG, said that despite being equipped with arms procured from public funds, the junta army could not compete at all with PDFs in terms of faith and determination.

Revolution Activities

  • In Loikaw of Kayah State, a deputy police officer under the military junta was shot dead at close range in Loikaw Central Market.
  • In Moebye on Shan-Kayah border, there was military tension between the junta army and local revolution forces on Sunday. According to local sources, junta soldiers in uniforms of KNPP, a local-based EAO, conducted an invasion.
  • In Moebye Township, the junta armed forces fired wildly on Sunday morning. Consequently, a moter fell and exploded in Sikar (1) Ward, killing a resident. Reportedly, 5 people were also injured, including 2 children aged 1 and 4.
  • · In Kayah (Karenni) State, deputy police officer Myo Thein Tun was shot dead by an unknown gunman in Loikaw Central Market at about 7:30 am Sunday.
  • According to local residents, the junta army shot dead 3 villagers Palai in Shwebo Township on Friday and 3 villagers of Shwesayay in Butalin Township on Saturday.
  • As 228-day protest, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Shwebo Township, local people marched for the NUG and against the military dictatorship on Sunday morning.
  • As 259-day protest, Kalay people marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday morning.
  • According to local residents and PDFs, the junta armed forces set fire to houses in Ywathitkone village of Khin-U Township as there was much absence in Pyusawti military training.
  • In the west of the Chindwin river, there was a night strike against the military dictatorship at a village on Saturday, banging pots and pans.
  • In Monywa, there were simultaneous explosions near the city hall and at the nursing training school on Sunday morning.
  • On Sunday, Mandalay Monks’ Union led an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • In Myayi Nanda Ward, there was a mine explosion at about 10:45 am Sunday, killing sergeant Nay Win Oo on the spot. Reportedly, another sergeant named San Lwin and a soldier named Thura Aung were seriously injured.
  • On Saturday night, Mandalay Monks’ Union conducted a protest against the military dictatorship.
  • Kyaukse PDF announced on Sunday that they managed to send 3 CDM policemen to a liberated area.
  • On Saturday, the military junta arrested the wife and 9-year-old daughter of police officer Kun Aung Ko Ko, the very first one from Nay Pyi Taw based Police Force who joined the CDM after the coup.
  • In Thanphyu Zayat Township, the military junta arrested a social worker named U Kyaw Win, accusing him of taking photos of 7 dead bodies discarded by the junta army at a cemetery.
  • Under the guidance of the military junta, Pyusawti members blew up NLD offices in Kyaikto, Beelin and Thatone townships of Mon State at about 11:00 pm Saturday.
  • In Yay Township, a combined force of local PDFs attacked junta soldiers who had come to repair underground cable between Laimawchan and Phayagone villages.
  • According to CDF Tantalan, two of their members stepped over a mine by the junta army and lost their lives on Saturday.
  • In North Dagon Myothit Township, the junta army opened fire wildly into the compound of Pinlone Housing including Pinlone Hospital. According to local residents, a taxi passenger was hit with a bullet and died.
  • At about 1:00 pm Saturday, 2 military trucks heading for Kalay were attacked with mines by local PDF between Mandaw and Kanpani villages. Reportedly, no less than 5 junta soldiers were injured.
  • In Pha-Kant with an internet blackout for over 2 months, there was a march against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Matupi, local CDF killed 3 junta informers and released another 3 people.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Thatone Township of Mon State, the junta army and BGF were attacked with mines by a combined force of KNLA near Tonephole village on Sunday morning. Reportedly, there were exchanges of fire. According to KNLA, more than 20 junta soldiers might have died in the battle.
  • In Hakha Township of Chin State, the junta armed forces were attacked with mines by CNA and CDF. Reportedly, 5 junta soldiers died.

Summary on 25th October

  • Due to local and international pressure, the military junta released some people, who had been unjustly imprisoned, in public. After that, they arrested them again in secret. Judging from it, they released prisoners just for show.
  • In Yangon, Mandalay and Bago, local PDFs announced that they would increase the momentum of the urban guerrilla revolution. As they said, there were bomb explosions and shooting in Yangon and Mandalay on Saturday and Sunday.
  • In Sagaing, the junta army has been conducting human rights violations, including ill-treating and killing civilians. Even in a city like Yangon, they made fire ammunitions even at schools and hospitals, non-attack areas set by international rules and regulations.
  • Generally speaking of revolution activities, people have been fighting against the military junta throughout the country in their way.
