The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • According to Pekone Township Public Administration on Sunday, the NUG supported a total of 206 CDM staff; soldiers, police and firefighters; in Pekone Township of Shan South with
  • 60,000 MMK each.
  • Dr. Win Myat Aye, Minister of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Risks Management-NUG, congratulated French President Emmanuel Macron on winning the election again.
  • Under the instruction of Union Minister U Lwin Ko Latt, the General Administration Department, Immigration Department and administration committees of firefighters and CDM staff have been reformed as bureau departments.
  • Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration-NUG conducted a meeting with community leaders from special areas for the interim local administration.
  • In the Spring Revolution fund-raising event in New Jersey of the USA, the NUG bonds were sold for up to 101,500 USD.
  • Ministry of Health-NUG announced that they managed to treat and consult nearly 80,000 patients from 298 townships under their Tele-Health programme over a period of 9 months.

Revolution Activities

  • On Sunday, the General Strike Coordination Body stated that it was necessary to respond to the superficial peace discussion of the military junta in the best way possible by reflecting on
  • lessons learnt throughout history and keep fighting with the full spirit of revolution.
  • In Mandalay Region, a combined force of urban guerrillas attacked 2 armed Pyusawti members on Myingyan District Road on Monday. Reportedly, both of them died on the spot and 2 pistols were confiscated.
  • According to Natogyi PDF, they have been making inspections on Natogyi-Taungtha Road to block the transportation of junta army products, drugs and other illegal items.
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, young people from a village marched against the military dictatorship on Monday, holding signs - ‘We will never be silent’.
  • On Monday, Longlone Township Basic Education Students’ Union went around 4 villages on motorbikes, calling for the revival of village strikes against the military dictatorship.
  • As a 442-day protest, Kalay General Strike, protected by PDF members, marched against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • In Wetlet Township of Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces raided and set fire to Yonebingone and Thitsaimt villages on Monday. Reportedly, they also fired mortars at local people who ran away.
  • In Dibeyin Township, local residents marched against the military dictatorship on Monday. 
  • In Shwebo Township, a rally of villagers marched for the NUG and against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • As a 411-day protest, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • In Khayan Township of Yangon Region, local PDF blew up a MyTel telecom tower, owned by the military junta, in Pandawchaung Village at 6:35 am Monday.
  • In Kachin State, the junta army arrested some members of Myitkyina Urban Guerrilla on Sunday noon.
  • In Phyapone Township of Ayeyarwaddy Region, local PDF shot dead Aye Ko, the junta administrator of Kyonekyait Village, and his wife at 9:10 pm Sunday.
  • In Mandalay, the junta police and soldiers ill-treated Daw Kha, a pro-NLD woman and party member, and left her on the side of the road. On Monday morning, she died of her injuries.
  • In Wuntho Township, the junta armed forces set fire to 8 villages on Sunday. Reportedly, they also shot dead a monk and a local woman who had told them not to do so.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • Karen National Defense Organization (KNDO) announced that starting from Monday, the junta armed forces were to leave Taungoo District under the control of their Brigade (2)
  • within 15 days.
  • In Kyaikto Township of Mon State, there was a fighting between the junta army and a combined force of KNLA near Ingabo Village at 7:30 am Monday. Reportedly, no less than 5 junta soldiers died and 6 others were injured.

The Military Council

  • At 3:00 pm Monday, a military helicopter landed on Byuha Hill in Hpakant for about eight minutes.
  • In an interview, the junta Minister of Investment and International Economic Relations said that he had given instruction for the protection of Chinese investments in accordance with
  • the Myanmar Investment Law.
  • Starting from 22 April, the 57 th Myanmar Gems Show was held at Mani Yadanar Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw. Reportedly, 330 sets of pearl had been sold through open tender from 22 to 24
  • April.
  • On Sunday evening, the military junta sealed off the house of Ko Min Kant Zaw, a man who had lost his life in the protest against the military dictatorship, in Yanaungmye Ward of
  • Chaung-U in Sagaing Region.
  • The junta Minister of Health said that rural community rely mainly on traditional medicines and thus, many more of such clinics and hospitals would be opened. 

Summary on 25 April

  • In addition to the junta army, the military junta formed other armed groups killing people lawlessly even in urban areas. As for some PDFs, they could no longer bear such activities and started to assassinate junta pillars and informers. If the situation goes on like that, there might be murders based on prejudice between them.
  • The armed revolution was in great momentum all over the country. As for Sagaing and Kayin, they had heavy battles. The revolution, which got started with PDF members holding Tumi guns, has made progress until they managed to control some urban areas. On the other hand, there might be heavier battles.
