The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • At the French Lower House of Representatives, Myanmar issue was discussed and a decision was made to recognize the NUG only. Reportedly, both Upper and Lower House of Representatives recognized the NUG.
  • The NUG announced that principles had been set to manage effectively for public good and have control in a democratic manner of land confiscated by the military junta for their self-interest, except for compulsory areas for a future federal army, according to Component (2) of the Federal Charter, Chapter (4), Responsibilities of the interim NUG, Article (25), Sub-Article (A).

Revolution Activities

  • India for Myanmar sent an open letter to India-based embassies of the member countries of BIMSTEC not to invite the military junta led by Min Aung Hlaing to their Summit on 30th March.
  • In Pakkoku of Magwe Region, Earthquake people’s defence force (UG) led by women conducted a bomb attack on a municipal office at 11:30 am Friday.
  • In Myaing Township, Basic Education General Strike Committee and the public marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday evening, chanting slogans for participation in the revolution.
  • In Phakant of Kachin State, a powerful rally of local people marched for the KIA, PDF and NUG. They also expressed their objection to the military dictatorship.
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, youth protested against the military dictatorship on Friday afternoon, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • In Dawei, 9 political activists, who were young university students, were sentenced to 9 years in prison along with labour by the military junta, according to Dawei Political Prisoners Network on Thursday.
  • Somewhere in Yangon, anti-junta youth marched against the military dictatorship on Friday, chanting slogans for participation in the revolution.
  • In Tamway Township, there was a bomb explosion near a military truck on patrol near Kyaikkasan Ground at 6:20 pm Thursday.
  • On Thursday, Yangon Urban Guerrillas - YUG conducted explosions at 15 restaurants and grocery shops in 9 townships of Yangon. They also announced that the rest of such places were to immediately stop the sale of Myanmar Beer and other army products.
  • In Mingaladone Township, there was a fire attack at the quarter of Shwe Phi Oo, instant tea factory owned by the junta army, at about 7:30 pm Thursday.
  • In Hlaingthaya Township, From Zero To Hero Urban Guerrilla group conducted a bomb attack at police station at Eastern Yoneshay bus-stop.
  • In South Dagon Township, there was a bomb explosion at the administration office of Ward (65) at 6:30 pm Thursday.
  • In Ywangan Township of Danu-ethnic self-administered region in Shan South, a truck carrying Myanmar Beer was set on fire at about 5:00 pm Wednesday and all the cans were scattered on the road. Reportedly, the truck exploded and fell into a near-by stream.
  • As a 352-day protest, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Friday.
  • In Tantsi Township, the junta army arrested, ill-treated and killed Ko Soe Moe, a Kankalaygone villager.
  • In Shwebo Township, the junta army raided Hnama Saryit village at 5:00 am Friday, firing mortars. According to local residents, junta soldiers set fire to the village and destroyed houses. Reportedly, 15 PDF members lost their lives and so did some villagers. According to local residents, almost the whole village was burnt to ashes.
  • In Mandalay Region, Myit Nge PDF attacked the inspection camp outside of Tada-U. Reportedly, 5 junta soldiers died and a gun was confiscated together with 10 bullets.
  • In Pathein of Ayeyarwaddy Region, 19 political prisoners, 17 men and 2 women, received imprisonment at the prison court, according to associates of lawyers.
  • According to German Solidarity with Myanmar Democracy e.V, the junta Consulate had to be closed in Berlin Germany and the staff led by the military ambassador had to leave on Thursday as their visas had not been extended.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Phalan Township of Chin State, there was an ambush on a supporting convoy of the junta army near Tinshuskan village. According to the Chin National Organization, 10 junta soldiers died and many others were injured.
  • Communication officer of the KIO said that successive military dictators had been adopting the military strategy of fighting among ethnic groups.
  • In Karmai of Kachin State, KIA attacked the junta camp on Thursday. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died and 5 guns were confiscated.

The Military Council

  • The junta chief minister of Chin State reported to the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing that he was being threatened to be shot by a sniper.
  • In an interview with South China Morning Post, the junta minister of information said that they were able to control safety and security of every part of the country with 15742 administrators in 16370 wards and villages.
  • According to the junta newspaper, the junta army managed to control the base camps of KNPP and PDF with control over Loikaw, Moye and Pekone via Nanmekone.
  • The junta minister of information said that the military junta had been invited to the ICJ as they were regarded as the government that could deal with current situation practically.
  • The junta ministry of foreign affairs expressed their sorrow for the exclusion of Myanmar by some ASEAN countries in Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) with the excuse of the current political situation.
  • In an interview with VOA on Thursday, the junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun said that the military junta supported the invasion of Russia into Ukraine.

Summary on 25 February

  • The military junta officially stated that they were in support of the invasion of Russia, a so-called country of modern polarization. Therefore, they must face the same consequences of such polarized countries.
  • As a consequence of the coup, the military junta had to face some ASEAN member countries against the inclusion of Myanmar in RCEP.
  • The military junta announced that they managed to control Nanmekone Area. Actually, it was not such an easy task. For 10 days, a large number of the junta armed forces had to bombard the area with mortars and conduct air strikes. The junta newspaper wrote about it as if there were no casualties on their side. In reality, hundreds of junta soldiers died in battles.
  • Local PDFs have been in need of weapons against air strikes. When equipped with arms, priority must be given to such weapons.
