The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • On Monday, the People’s Defence Force Region (1) Western Sub-Region (1) Brigade (7) announced that for the execution of four people including Ko Jimmy and Ko Phyo Zayyar Thaw, not only the criminal Min Aung Hlaing and the military junta but also their family members, supporters of the junta army and those who have relations with the military junta must be held accountable.
  • U Yi Mon, the NUG Union Minister of Defence, wrote that there must be legal action against the war criminal Min Aung Hlaing and there must be no place for him to run away.
  • Ministers of the NUG angrily responded to the secretive execution of four political prisoners including Ko Jimmy and Ko Phyo Zayyar Thaw.
  • According to court sources, Daw Aung San Su Kyi came to know about the execution of Ko Jimmy and Ko Phyo Zayyar Thaw, and she was feeling sad.

Revolutionary Activities

  • On Sunday, a local PDF used a drone and a 40mm grenade to attack the junta army, Police and Pyu Saw Htee in Kawt Village of Shwebo Township. Reportedly, four members of the junta armed forces died.
  • On Monday, a combined rally of villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched for the end of the military dictatorship.
  • In Kani Township, local people chanting anti-junta slogans warmly welcomed the PDF members who had attacked military vessels on the Chindwin River on Sunday night.
  • In Shwebo Township, a local PDF used a drone to bomb a building where junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members had been staying in Kotoseit Village.
  • In Myaing Township in Magwe Region, the junta army raided Kyaukkan Village on Sunday and killed a villager.
  • In Thayetchaung Township in Tanintharyi Region, a combined rally of local people, youth, students and LGBTs conducted a march called ‘Freedom from Fear’ and protested against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • In Yangon Region a banner that said ‘Get ready for bloody revenge for the execution of four political prisoners’ was hung up on the Dawbone-Thaketa Bridge on Monday.
  • In Kamayut Township, there was a mortar attack on the MRTV- Myanmar Radio and Television compound on Monday morning.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Myawaddy Township in Kayin State, Cobra Troop attacked the junta army invading secretly along the mountain range on Sunday evening. Reportedly, no less than two soldiers were seriously injured and they all retreated.
  • The Arakan Army (AA) released a statement saying that the execution of Ko Jimmy, Ko Phyo Zayyar Thaw, Ko Hla Myo Aung and Ko Aung Thura Zaw was challenging the public.
  • On social media, the leader of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) wrote that it was stupid to have executed four political prisoners including Ko Jimmy and Ko Phyo Zayyar Thaw, and there would be reactions to that action.
  • A spokesperson of the Karen National Union (KNU) expressed the KNU's strong condemnation of the military junta for executing four political activists.
  • According to the Interim Khumi Affairs Coordination Council (IKACC) on Sunday, it negotiated and reached an agreement for the release of six Chin people detained by the AA in Paletwa in Chin State.

  • According to the junta media on Monday, the junta executed four political prisoners including U Jimmy and U Phyo Zayyar Thaw.
  • The junta Minister of Agriculture said that it was important to produce more oil crops and increase production by oil presses to meet the country's cooking oil needs.
