Spring Revolution Daily News for 26 November 2023 

The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • U Nay Phone Latt, the spokesman of Union Prime Minister Office-NUG, stated that the NUG had not met and negotiated with the Myanmar junta’s representative in Jakarta of Indonesia and that they had just presented to the ASEAN Special Envoy Office about the stand of the NUG and their alliances. 
  • To promote the women’s participation in political transformation, the NUG will cooperate with the revolution forces and political groups with a common goal. 
  • In Aunglan Township of Magwe Region, a combined force of local PDFs conducted mine attacks on a junta troop of 80 soldiers invading the area on 17 and 18 November. Reportedly, 13 junta soldiers died. 
  • In Wetlet Township of Sagaing Region, the PDFs took control of the junta’s police station in Shwe Pan Gone Village on 21 November. Reportedly, they arrested 16 policemen including their chief as prisoners of war and confiscated a large number of weapons. 
  • In Khin-U Township of Sagaing Region, village administration teams and village defence teams were set up in accordance with the policies and guidance of the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration on 23 November. 
  • In Karenni State with heavy fighting, Karenni State Interim Administration Council has conducted the rescue and resettlement of local women and children. 

Revolution Activities 

  • Somewhere at a local market in Yangon, the alliance of revolution forces approached the public and shared the message about the situation of the revolution on Saturday morning. 
  • In Kyaukse of Mandalay Region, there was an attack on the office of Union Solidarity and Development Party on Friday afternoon. 
  • In Myingyan Township, there was a mine attack on a junta vehicle on their way from Semikone Town to Taloat Village. 
  • In Kawkarait Township of Kayin State, Karen National Union (KNU) warned the junta’s administration personnel to resign. Reportedly, some staff members left the town. 
  • In Tharyarwaddy Township of Bago Region, there was a surprise attack on Thonese Myoma Police Station. 
  • In Salingyi of Sagaing Region, local PDFs attacked the junta armed forces in town. 
  • In Kani Township, PDFs took control of a junta army camp. Reportedly, both sides had casualties. 
  • In Myinmu Township, local public administration warned non-CDM staff to defect to the public by 3 January at the latest. 
  • The Agents of Spring Revolution Support Team, mainly comprising Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand, made a collection at a local festival for 4 days to raise funds for the revolution. 

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) 

  • The Three Brotherhood of Northern Alliance announced that another stage of Nationwide Operation would come on 27 November, a month after 1027 Operation in Northern Shan State. 
  • In Falam Township of Chin State, the word ‘Republic of the Union of Myanmar’ was replaced with ‘Chinland’ on the sign board on India-Myanmar Trade Bridge in Rikhawdar. 
  • In Mobye, a member of local PDF lost a leg in a mine clearance operation in town for local residents to be able to return home safely. 
  • In Northern Shan State, there was heavy fighting on Naungcho-Kyaukme-Hsipaw Union Road. 
  • In Myay Bone Township of Rakhine State, there was a battle between the junta army and Arakan Army (AA). Reportedly, 10 junta soldiers died. 

The Military Council 

  • In Ponnagyun Town of Rakhine State, the whole market with 150 shops was set on fire due to the mortars shot by the junta army. 
  • The junta propaganda leader Major General Zaw Min Tun said as if the military exercise of China on China-Myanmar border was for the military junta. 
  • According to the junta Immigration Ministry, the state/ regional personnel will systematically and effectively implement Pan Khin Project for those without household list or national identification card. 
  • The junta spokesperson claimed that some of the people arrested in the case of Loikaw University had been released because of protests and objections. 
  • The junta leader and his wife were present at Katein Robe Offering Ceremony at Uppatasanti Pagoda in Naypyidaw. 
  • At Nay Pyi Taw State Academy, 31 first-year students have been studying a course on medical basics at the department of medical science. 

Summary on 26 November 

  • The junta propaganda leader Major General Zaw Min Tun has constantly claimed what is opposite to reality. He did the same trick in the case of Loikaw University. 
  • The revolution forces officially announced that the revolution would step up to another level. In the days to come, there might be heavy fighting to seize the junta’s camps and towns.
