Yangon Region

• In Thaketa Township, the youths made a campaign on COVID-19 prevention on Sunday, distributing masks and educational leaflets, under the theme- “Beat COVID-19 by the people protecting the people”.
• On Saturday night, the junta armed forces entered some wards in the townships while the public was banging pots and pans. They used offensive language and opened gunfire as a threatening act. They even went into some houses and arrested people.
• In Shwe Pyi Tha Township, a rally of various staff members protested against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
• On Sunday, young residents of Yangon led paper strikes against the military dictatorship at Thamai crossroad and Myenigone bus stop.
• In South Okkalapa Township, a sign “closed” was hung at Shwe Pyi Nyunt oxygen plant in Ward (8). However, junta police cars entered the plant and carried oxygen cylinders away.

Mandalay Region

• On Saturday, Mandalay Monks’ Union recited Parittas for the public and made a night strike against the military dictatorship.
• In Pyigyi Dagun Township, the public conducted a protest against the military dictatorship on Saturday night.
• According to residents of Kyaukbadaung, the junta armed forces came into the wards while the public was banging pots and pans on Saturday night. They used offensive language and made no less than 30 gunshots.
• Despite violent crackdowns and arrests in Mandalay, a rally of Aungmye Thazan Schools marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
• In 7 townships of Mandalay District where stay-at-home was declared, the military junta announced that shopping would be allowed only between 6:00 and 9:00 in the morning, and between 3:00 and 6:30 in the evening, starting from Sunday.
• As their 167-day protest, a rally led by Mandalay Monks’ Union marched up to 80 road and expressed their desire against the military dictatorship.
• On Sunday morning, a rally of Aungmye Thazan School expressed their objection to the military dictatorship, chanting words of strong determination.
• A rally of Myataung expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship on Sunday, burning a flag of the junta army.

Sagaing Region

• In Salingyi Township, Latbadaung Taung Deneral Strike marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Sunday.
• On Sunday, a rally comprising various villages from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship.
• In Kalay, a rally of residents went around the town on Sunday morning and protested against the military dictatorship.
• In Shwebo Township, the junta armed forces arrested 7 IDPs of Panhlaing village, who had been taking refuge at the monastery, on Sunday morning. They also forced the remaining ones to go back to their village and threatened to kill them if they fail to do so.
• In Butalin Township, there was a protest against the military dictatorship on Sunday evening.

Magwe Region

• In Pakkoku, the youth-led “From the people to the people” campaign on Sunday, distributing food to those living from hand to mouth.
• In Myaing Township, Basic Education General Strike Committee, in cooperation with the public, went around the western and north-west villages with motorbikes on Sunday, chanting anti-junta slogans.
• On Saturday night, there was a strike of banging pots and pans against the military dictatorship at a village in Yezagyo Township.
• On Sunday, residents of Yenangyaung made an anti-junta movement.

Taninthayi Region

• On Saturday night, Dawei Variety Forces, in cooperation with the youth, made an indoor strike against the military dictatorship.
• In Longlone Township, basic education students led an anti-junta movement on Sunday.
• In Longlone Township, the youth-led a protest against the military dictatorship in Nyinmaw village on Sunday afternoon.
• In Longlone Township, a rally of Lower Yebyu village marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Sunday evening.
• In Pulaw Township, a member of the people’s army was killed in Kyaungnaint village.

Kachin State

• In Pha-Kant, a rally of Lonekhine group residents expressed their objection to the military dictatorship.

Bago Region

• Reportedly, there are COVID-19 infected cases among staff members and prisoners in Pyi Prison.
• According to family members of some prisoners, the prisoners without COVID-19 infection were transferred from Bago Prison to Dike-U Prison on Saturday morning.
• According to residents of Gyoyattha village in Thegone Township, two young PDF members died in an accidental explosion while they were making a bomb at about 10:00 pm Saturday.
• Latbadan GTI Students’ Union announced that the junta armed forces had arrested four people on 21st July, including Ko Htet Wai Yan, chair of their union.
• According to the announcement of Pyi University Students’ Union, the junta armed forces arrested Ko Yan Naing Aung, an EC member of Ba-Ka-Tha, and political activist Ko Shwe Phyo at about 8:00 pm Saturday.

Shan State

• In Namkam, the public protested against the military dictatorship, with the theme- “We fear the loss of our future more than the loss of our sense of smell”.

Mon State

• In Thatone Township, Ko Aung Pai, a motorbike taxi driver from Sinphyugyun, was shot dead at about 4:00 pm Saturday. His dead body was taken away by the junta soldiers, who also took 7 other motorbikes from the village by force and carried them away in a military truck.

Nay Pyi Taw

• In Pyinmana, the youth conducted a motorbike protest against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
• In a press conference on Sunday, Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, Minister of Education and Health- NUG, said that vaccinations against COVID-19 would begin soon.
• According to the military junta, COVID-19 vaccinations would be started soon with those at the age of 60 and above in respective townships.

Summary on 26th July

• In Yangon, the junta armed forces entered the houses and arrested the people who banged pots and pans at night against the military dictatorship. After the establishment of an oxygen management committee, the public started to face difficulty in private oxygen refills.
• Amidst arrests in Mandalay, there were marches against the military dictatorship as usual.
• In Sagaing Region, public protests had great momentum and so did the revolution of PDFs. As for the junta armed forces, they had been strengthening their manpower and weapons. As the ships carrying tanks and weapons moved up steadily along the Ayeyarwady River, it was likely that they would conduct crackdowns on powerful PDFs from Katha.
• In Taninthayi Region, there were still powerful protests against the military dictatorship. As for other states and regions, they had almost no public protests. In Kayin State, Mon State and Taninthayi Region, residents might need help due to floods.
