The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • In the meeting on Tuesday, the NUG Acting President called on ethnic leaders not to accept the invitation of the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing and just to join hands with the public in the fight
  • against the dictatorship and the influence of nationalism, and for the establishment of federalism with self-determination.
  • The NUG announced that they had blacklisted and dismissed 92 non-CDM officers from the Department of Religious Affairs under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture for their
  • oppression of CDM staff.
  • The NUG Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration announced on Tuesday that a Special Investigation Bureau had been established to prevent violent activities by the junta army.
  • The NUG Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration announced on Monday that there were about 7,000 police members who had joined the CDM. Among them, only 3,000 contacted the
  • NUG, the rest of the CDM police should do so as soon as possible.
  • In their statement on the 58 th anniversary of the SSPP-SSA, the NUG stated that it was such a good time to join hands for the fight against the common enemy, the military junta.
  • According to the CRPH, the Official Fundraising Program Network, they have been planning to conduct a One million in one month campaign by selling Pathein Umbrellas,
  • like the one used by State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi, through the sale of raffle tickets.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Mandalay, an alternate firefighter was shot dead on Monday afternoon.
  • On social media on Monday, the Mandalay Strike Force called on the Chinese government to respect the desires of 55 million Myanmar people and stop supporting the military junta.
  • On Sunday night, the junta army arrested 3 pro-NLD family members of the owners of Sein Win Win teashop and killed two of them. Reportedly, they discarded the dead bodies on the
  • roadside the following morning.
  • In Pakkoku Township in Magwe Region, local PDFs conducted an attack with mortars on the junta army taking a rest at a religious hall on Monday at noon. Reportedly, about seven junta
  • soldiers might have died. 
  • On Tuesday morning, Magwe-based PDF members expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship somewhere in the forest.
  • In Tilin Township, there was fighting between the junta army and Yaw Defense Force on Monday. Reportedly, a junta soldier was caught alive and there might have been casualties
  • among many others.
  • The YDF announced on Tuesday that a junta soldier had been caught alive together with weapons.
  • In Thatone District in Mon State, local guerrilla forces arrested a junta police officer Min Min Oo at about 10:00 am on 23 April.
  • On Tuesday morning, a combined rally of women from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Shwebo Township in Sagaing Region, a rally of villagers marched for the NUG and against the military dictatorship on Tuesday.
  • In Salingyi Township, a local PDF conducted a mine attack on a military truck and motorbikes carrying rations for the junta army in Nyaungbingyi Police Station on Tuesday morning.
  • In Shwebo Township, an alliance of seven local PDFs carried out a mine attack on the junta army stationed in Titheedaw Village. Reportedly, three junta soldiers died.
  • In Minkin Township, a group of junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members were attacked with mines at 11:30 am on Monday. Reportedly, no less than 13 of them died.
  • In Myaung Township, a PDF carried out an attack with advanced mines on the junta armed forces in Kyaukyit Village at about 5:00 pm Monday.
  • In Shwebo Township, the junta army was attacked with mines on the Shwebo-Kyaukmyaung Road on Monday night. Reportedly, no less than eight junta soldiers died.
  • In the south of Kanbalu Township, the Kanbalu Underground Warriors assassinated Ko Bo Cho, allegedly a Pyu Saw Htee member and junta informer, in Zeebintha Village at about 8:30 pm on Monday.
  • In Kalay Township, the junta armed forces set fire to Natchaung Village and Chaungkwa Village on Monday afternoon.
  • In Wuntho Township, the junta armed forces have raided villages Since 23 April they have burnt down 148 houses in seven villages.
  • In Pale Township, two members of Royal Eagle lost lives when an RPG round left by the junta soldiers who had been stationed in Thadin Village exploded.
  • Phaungbyin PDF warned the Shanni Army not to collect money saying it was a tax for the NUG Administration in the area.
  • In Mingala Taung Nyunt Township in Yangon Region, a combined rally of youths and students marched against the military dictatorship on Tuesday morning, holding a banner saying‘Strike
  • while the iron is hot’.
  • In Bahan Township, there were two explosions near the municipal rubbish dump at 9:30 pm on Monday.
  •  According to From Zero To Hero, they carried out a bomb attack on junta soldiers stopping motorbikes in Hlaingthaya and Shwepyitha townships on Monday.
  • According to the Yangon University Students’ Union, a total of 130 political prisoners from Insein Prison (30 women and 100 men) were sent to another prison on 24 April.
  • In Longlone Township in Tanintharyi Region, local people marched against the military dictatorship on Tuesday, calling on the U.S government to put sanctions on the junta’s Myanmar
  • Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE).
  • In Dawei, the junta army arrested four men, for no apparent reason, during their overnight guest inspection in some wards at about 2:00 am Tuesday.
  • In Longlone Township, youths and students protested against the military dictatorship on Tuesday, holding anti-junta signs.
  • In Boatpyin Township, there was a fighting somewhere in Yadanabone Village on 23 April. Reportedly, three junta soldiers died and weapons were confiscated.
  • In Pathein in Ayeyarwaddy Region, there was a bomb explosion in front of the vehicle registration office in Ward (13) at about 7:00 am on Tuesday.
  • In Shan North, the People Security And Defense Army Muse found Myanmar Beer cans, a junta army product, among other items on a truck and destroyed them on Lashio-Muse Road at 5:38 pm Monday. 
  • In Hpakant Township in Kachin State, local people marched for the KIA, PDF and NUG on  Tuesday. They also expressed their objection to the military dictatorship.
  • A total of 558 local organisations sent an open letter to the Chinese President, saying that Chinese businesses and investments would be involved in the public’s revolution if China did not
  • stop their activities to officially recognize the military junta.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In an interview with KIC Media, their respective leaders said that over 200 DKBA members, led by Captain Sa Lone, had joined hands with KNDO led by Major General Saw Nerdah Mya.
  • On Monday evening, the military junta dropped rations for their frontline armed forces from planes. According to the Mutraw Newsletter, nearly all the packages were confiscated by the
  • KNLA.
  • On the eastern bank of Pekone in Shan South, the KNDF arrested 26 staff members of the junta, including 2 military officers, together with electronic equipment, on their way to repair
  • electricity towers.
  • In Maiwi Township under the control of TNLA Brigade (3), the TSYU conducted 19-day training at three locations for those who had passed the matriculation exam to become school teachers.
  • In Namsam Township under TNLA Brigade (2), the PSLF/TNLA administration department caught three young people stealing motorbikes in the area on 20 April.
  • On Tuesday, the KNDF released a video of their member Richard Tun who had lost his life in fighting in Okuri Village in Demoso Township in Karenni State in recent days.
  • According to CDF Mindat on Tuesday their members returned home together with weapons after attending military training under Arakan Army-AA.
  • On 24 April, CDF Mindat, which started the armed revolution with Tommy guns last year, conveyed a message that if members of the junta armed forces did not accept their invitation to
  • join the CDM and they just chose battlefields, they would have to come face-to-face with Tommy guns.
  • In Kalay Township in Sagaing Region, there were two battles near Natmyaung Village on 24 April. According to the CNDF, nine junta soldiers died.

The Military Council

  • Reportedly, the junta special court in Nay Pyi Taw postponed the verdict for the case in which State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi was accused of taking gold and USD from U Phyo Min
  • Thein.
  • On Monday, the military junta announced that the Legal Translation Commission Law had been adopted with amendments.
  • On 27 April, there will be a press conference held by the military junta. 
  • Through the junta newspapers, the junta higher education department announced the opening dates for correspondence courses for final-year distance education university students.
  • On Monday, the military junta announced that the prison senence of Thura U Aung Ko, the former Minister of Religious Affairs and Culture, had been halved.
  • The junta Ministry of Trade and Commerce announced that there was enough edible oil for daily deliveries all over the country and that imports had been arriving by sea on a regular basis.
  • A total of 23 political parties, including the USDP, issued statements in support of the invitation by the junta leader to ethnic armed organizations for peace discussions.
  • The Myanmar Writers’ Association, The Myanmar Clowns’ Association, The Myanmar Musicians’ Association, the YMBA and the Myanmar Press Council released statements supporting the
  • invitation of the military junta for peace.
  • The military junta announced that compensation of up to 600 lakh MMK must be paid if medical students fail to serve their duty at hospitals upon completion of their studies.
  • In Meiktila in Mandalay Region, a GROB plane, worth nearly a million USD, caught fire while landing at the air force training headquarters at about 2:00 pm on Monday.
  • According to the KIC, the military junta forced CDM staff in Kawkareik Township in Kayin State to resume work. Reportedly, some of them were sent for interrogation.
  • In Matupi Township in Chin State, the junta armed forces have been invading villages using the excuse of COVID-19 vaccinations, according to local people.

Summary on 27 April

  • With battlefields all over the country, the military junta has been reportedly planning to send non-attack production forces to the frontline. There have been many casualties and arrests
  • among junta forces in battles against PDFs and alliances.
  • Most ethnic armed organizations stated that they did not trust the military junta’s invitation to peace discussions. They said that there could be no benefit from discussions with the junta and
  • there could be no true peace as long as the junta army did not leave Myanmar politics.
