The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • According to the Interim Council of Medical University (1), those who have completed a year as house surgeons can apply for a temporary graduation certificate.
  • Wai Lin Aung or Zaw Win a second sergeant, joined the CDM together with two guns. At first, he was accused of being a junta informer. However, he did not give up his strong determination to fight the military dictatorship. So, the People’s Destination released a statement in honor of him.
  • On 21 June, there was a meeting between the Chair of the CRPH (Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw) and Secretary General of (Inter-Parliamentary Union –IPU).
  • In accordance with the right to self-defence for survival, the public has been taking part in a People’s Defensive War. According to the NUG, 28 members of the junta armed forces died and 10 others were injured on Sunday.
  • The NUG called on world leaders attending the G7 Summit to have discussions focusing on humanitarian and economic crises in Myanmar.

Revolutionary Activities

  • The ASEAN Special Envoy to Myanmar, the Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, sent a letter to the military junta to send back Daw Aung San Su Kyi back to house arrest.
  • According to the Yadanabone Revolution Force, they opened fire in memory of their leader who had lost his life in a shooting incident in downtown Mandalay.
  • On Monday, the Mandalay Monks’ Union led an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • In Mandalay Region, a convoy of eight military trucks from Pyin Oo Lwin was attacked with mines. Reportedly, it was still unknown about casualties.
  • In Pyinmana Township in Naypyitaw, three non-CDM teachers from Alechaung (Lower) Village Primary School were shot at about 10:00 pm Saturday. Reportedly, one of them died.
  • On Sunday, Myanmar people in Thailand conducted a fund-raising football match to support PDFs. Reportedly, they contributed the money to Captain Dragon Commando Force.
  • In Salingyi Township in Sagaing Region, the junta army killed Ko Sai Myat Soe, a man from Phaungkata Village in Letpadaung Area, by cutting off his head and two hands. Reportedly, the dead body was found at 10:00 am Sunday.
  • On the 473rd day of protest, a combined rally of villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched for the martyrs and against the military dictatorship on Monday morning.
  • In Indaw Township, the junta army raided Mingone Village on 24 June. Reportedly, they broke open collection boxes from the monastery and took away money.
  • On Monday, a combined rally of Yinmabin West and Yinmabin Salingyi Strike conducted a protest against the military dictatorship.
  • In Myinmu Township, a combined force of PDFs carried out an attack at Myinmu Tollbooth. Reportedly, three members of the junta armed forces died and nine others were injured.
  • A group of fund raisers called on the public to take part in their campaign to earn 15,000 lakh MMK within 30 days for local PDFs in Sagaing Region.
  • On Monday, the Kalay General Strike marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Taungoo Township in Bago Region, a combined rally of students’ unions conducted an anti-junta movement in honor of the 105 th birthday of Thakhin Ba Hein on Monday.
  • At a crowded bridge in Bago, local strike groups hung an anti-junta banner calling for the public’s participation in the revolution.
  • In Hpakant of Kachin State, local people marched for the KIA, PDF and NUG on Monday. They also protested against the military dictatorship.
  • In Myitgyina, Nyunt Wai, a retired soldier and allegedly junta informer, was shot dead in Legone Ward.
  • In Longlone Township in Tanintharyi Region, the junta armed forces killed three old people from Gadatgyi Village and Gawin Village on Sunday night. They then raided their houses and took away valuable things.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Muse Township in Shan north, there was fighting between the junta army and MNDAA on Sunday. Reportedly, there were casualties among junta soldiers.
  • In the Wawlay Area of Kayin State, there was an ongoing battle to take control of the junta Oukkayitta camp until noon on Monday. Reportedly, there were a large number of casualties.

The Military Council

  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that despite 52% coverage of the country in 2000, forest area was just 42.19% in 2020 and thus, deforestation was up to 20% in 20 years.
  • According to the junta propaganda team, those involved in a robbery at KBZ Bank Branch (9) in Mandalay on 17 June were arrested and one of them was killed in an exchange of fire.
  • Starting on 25 June, a combined force of the KNDO and the KNLA has been attacking the junta Oukkayitta camp in the Wawlay Myein Area of Kayin State. Reportedly, the military junta has suffered great losses and they have been sending support forces through the Thai border.
  • The junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun said that the ASEAN Special Envoy to Myanmar would meet with the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing and the junta Foreign Minister Wunna Mg Lwin during his trip to the country.
  • According to the junta propaganda leader, no more EAOs have responded to the junta invitation for peace discussion yet.
  • According to the junta propaganda leader, the age limit has been removed for applicants to three military universities.

Summary on 28 June

  • The ASEAN Special Envoy to Myanmar, who will soon meet with the junta leader, called for Daw Aung San Su Kyi to be sent back home from prison. It is another hard blow to the military junta which is turning a blind eye to the ASEAN 5-point Consensus. In other words, it is a diplomatic hardship for them.
  • In Kayin State on the western border with Thailand, there were heavy battles. Reportedly, both sides had many casualties. As the junta army could not win just with ground forces, they conducted air strikes. There was also fighting in Karenni State.
  • In Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces have been committing war crimes as usual. They not only destroyed the monastery in Mingone Village in Indaw Township but also took money from temple collection boxes. This is not the first time they have done so. It seems typical for them to do such activities.
