The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • In Incheon in South Korea, there was a meeting of The NUG Representative Team with revolutionary forces and social organisations based in South Korea at 10:00 am on Sunday.
  • On the 78th Anti-Fascist Day, the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) sent a statement in honor of the leaders and revolutionists who sacrificed their lives in the fight for independence and against the military dictatorship throughout history.
  • At 1:00 pm on Saturday, there was a meeting between the Education Committee under the CRPH and the Township Education Board under the Committee Representing the Ayeyarwady Hluttaw.
  • In Froland in Norway, the NUG Minister of Human Rights and the NUG Minister of Foreign Affairs met with Myanmar natives on Sunday.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Khin-U Township in Sagaing Region, female farm workers protested against the junta army led by Min Aung Hlaing celebrating the 78th Army Day in Nay Pyi Taw. They also showed their support for the NUG.
  • In Mingaladon Township in Yangon Region, a MyTel telecom tower was blown up on the 78th Army Day.
  • In Hmawbi Township, there were mine attacks on an army pharma factory, the power supply to the junta armed forces and a MyTel telecom tower.
  • In North Okkalapa Township, junta soldiers and police forcibly took away two 13-year-old children to conscript them into the army, in Ta Ward at 10:00 pm on 23 March.
  • In Insein Township, Thaketa Township and North Dagon Myothit Township in Yangon Region, there were bomb explosions on the 78th Army Day.
  • On the 78th Army Day on Monday, the comrades of the YRF made a ritual with a headless toy of the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing.
  • In Minhla Township in Bago Region, three fully-armed soldiers ran away from the junta army Ka-La-Ya (1) on the morning of 23 March. Reportedly, one of them was caught and killed.
  • In Sagaing Region, the Monywa General Strike conducted a talk on politics and the revolution on Sunday afternoon.
  • In memory of Ko Chan Myae Kyaw who was killed by the junta army two years ago, there was a combined rally of local villagers against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • On Monday, the Khin-U Township General Strike marched for the end of the military dictatorship, holding anti-junta signs.
  • In Chaung-U Township, the S&C provided rice and oil to the fire victims of 111 households from 13 local villages.
  • In memory of Comrade Pho Chan who was shot dead by the junta army, a combined rally from Salingyi and Yin Mar Bin marched on Monday for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • On Monday morning, protesters in Yin Mar Bin North marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Yesagyo in Magwe Region, there were attacks on the junta police station and the junta army in Katgyaw Monastery. Reportedly, two junta soldiers died and four others were injured.
  • In Pauk Township, the anti-junta health committee conducted health talks at public schools.
  • In Yesagyo Township, drones bombed the camp of junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members in Min Village in the Alegyun Area on Saturday. Reportedly, there were a large number of casualties among junta members.
  • According to the Kabaw Valley Burma Refugee Committee, Myanmar refugees will be issued cards for temporary stays in Manipur State in India and the camps will be built for them.
  • In Dagaung in Mandalay Region, there were three attacks on a convoy of junta army troops. Reportedly, 18 junta soldiers died.
  • In Hpakant in Kachin State, a rally of local people marched for the KIA, PDF and NUG on Monday. They also protested against the military dictatorship.
  • In Hpakant Township, PDFs attacked a patrol team of three junta policemen. Reportedly, the second police officer Nyi Nyi Htet Aung, died.
  • In Thailand, New Generation Abroad Support Team organized a football match to raise funds for PDFs.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • According to a spokesperson from the Karenni Military Information Team, it is time for grassroots junta supporters to realise that they have to die to keep the junta leaders in power.
  • In the area under the control of Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade (6), there were attacks on the Myawaddy Border Trade Zone and Thingan Nyinaung Police Station. According to a representative of Cobra Column, 11 junta soldiers and police died, and eight others were caught alive.
  • Reportedly, 12 fundraising organisations will strengthen ‘the Fence’ project by the Karenni Nationalities Defence Force.

The Military Council

  • In a speech on 78th Army Day in Nay Pyi Taw, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing claimed that the junta will take firm action against the NUG and ethnic armed organisations supporting the NUG.
  • The junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun said it is time for unity so that the country can develop.
  • The junta leader gave prestigious titles to 36 individuals for their outstanding service.
  • The military junta announced that a documentary will be shot in the celebration of Thingyan throughout the country to be submitted for a list of world cultural heritage sites.
  • Due to heavy fighting in some townships in Kayin State including Myawaddy, the military junta imposed a curfew from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am.
  • In Myeik Township in Tanintharyi Region, the military junta instructed the local administration to collect lists of CDM staff and NLD members.
  • In Nattalin Township in Bago Region, the junta army allowed local people from the villages on the way to Taungnyo Dam to buy and carry only 16 tin cups of rice per household.

Summary on 28 March

  • On the 78th Army Day, Min Aung Hlaing claimed that the junta would take action against the NUG and the EAOs supporting the NUG. Despite such action, the junta armed forces have had to fight hard in constant battles to reduce their great losses.
  • In recent days, there have been fewer anti-junta protests in upcountry areas such as Sagaing and Magway. However, there were more movements against the military dictatorship on Revolution Day.
