The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • In London, there was a meeting between Minister of Education-NUG and Minister of Asian Affairs of the UK government on Thursday.
  • According to the NUG, 97 junta soldiers died in the battles on Thursday alone.
  • Ministry of Labour-NUG announced on Friday that they would conduct employment surveys from Myanmar people in other countries and issue an Overseas Employment Registration Card-OERC.
  • Monywa Township Public Administration under the NUG announced that they would collect taxes from local business people starting from 1 June.
  • According to No.1008 Infantry-Southern Shan on Friday, they lost 3 of their camps, including headquarters, after 11 days of battles in the eastern part of Pekone.
  • Minister of Human Rights-NUG said that they had been making an effort for diplomatic relations with the international community to support the Spring Revolution battles.

Revolution Activities

  • In Gantgaw Township of Magwe Region, the junta army conducted an air strike near Myittha Dam on Thursday morning. According to Township Public Administration, no less than 7 local PDF members lost lives.
  • In Myaing Township, local PDF found 5 dead bodies of people who had been killed by the junta army during their clearance operation near Kyaukkwet Village on Thursday.
  • On Thursday afternoon, a convoy of over 80 military trucks was attacked with mines by PDF on their way from Ponetaung to Pakkoku. Reportedly, 3 vehicles were damaged.
  • On Friday, there was a video containing the testing of mortars produced by Chaung U Revolution Army (CRA).
  • In Yinmabin Township of Sagaing Region, Sayar San PDF managed to produce up to 6 kinds of hand-made weapons.
  • In Kantbalu Township, the junta army set fire to Tandaw Village starting from 6:30 am Friday.
  • As a 442-day protest, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Friday, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • In Latbadaung Area of Salingyi Township, local people marched for the end of the military dictatorship on Friday.
  • In Kani Township, the junta army set fire to Kin Village on Chindwin River Bank on Thursday and Friday.
  • In Myeik of Taninthayi Region, there were 3 bomb explosions at No. (7) High School for 3 days in a row.
  • On Friday morning, Monywa youth and students took to the streets against the military dictatorship.
  • In Monywa Township, the junta army was attacked with mines between Tanaungdaw and Shwesone villages. Reportedly, about 10 junta soldiers died.
  • In Hpakant Township of Kachin State, local people marched for the KIA, PDF and NUG. They also protested against the military dictatorship.
  • In Ahm Township of Rakhine State, the junta army banned rice transportation to Darlatchaung Village Group with the limitation of one rice bag for each household.
  • In Dala Township of Yangon Region, the military junta banned motorbike rides.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Ta’ang Plaung Area of Shan North, TNLA announced on Friday that local people could report human rights violations.
  • U Sai Nyunt Lwin, Chair of Shan National League for Democracy-SNLD, informed the public that they had to keep control not to get distracted by conflicts after the military coup and they had already decided to stand for the truth at a time of tug-of-war between right and
  • wrong.
  • According to Mutraw Newsletter, the junta Border Guard Forces left the areas under KNU Brigade (1) and (5) so that they could conduct military operations in Duplaya District under KNU Brigade (6).
  • On 21 May, a year of battles was marked between the junta army and Karenni Revolution Forces. According to the KNDF, nearly 1,000 junta soldiers lost lives during that period.
  • According to KPICT, there was a discussion between the United Nations Security Council and some ethnic armed organizations.

The Military Council

  • In Paletwa Township of Chin State, battles resumed between the Arakan Army-AA and the junta armed forces. Reportedly, the military junta issued a curfew (Section 144) starting from Thursday.
  • According to the junta Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, they started to conduct research comparing industrial farming and traditional farming of 6 kinds of crops.
  • The junta media stated that 50 PDF members had set fire to 3 houses of the people’s army members in Nateaintaung Village of Pulaw Township in Taninthayi Region at 2:30 pm Thursday.
  • According to the junta media, the junta leader and his wife paid respects to the dead body of Patron Monk of Shwethuwun Monastery in Thingangyun Township of Yangon Region on Thursday.
  • The junta vice chair of the Central Bank said that there was too much deposit money at some local banks and thus, nearly 1 trillion MMK was deposited back to the Central Bank.
  • The military junta announced that two officers in charge of staff teams had been appointed for the Ministry of Immigration and Population, and the Ministry of Education.

Summary on 27 May

  • After battles resumed between the Arakan Army-AA and the junta army, the military junta issued a curfew in Paletwa Township and limited rice transportation in Ahm Township with one rice bag per household.
  • As for Kayin and Karenni, they had ongoing battles. Reportedly, both the junta army and EAOs lost members. On the other hand, some other EAOs had a discussion with members of the UN Security Council, building diplomatic relations with international diplomats.
  • At the time when the military junta has poor relations with the international community, the NUG has been making steady progress in international diplomatic affairs.
