The Military Council

  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that according to Section (386) of the Constitution, every citizen is responsible for learning about the military in accordance with the law and performing military service for national defence, and thus, such compulsory military service would be adopted if necessary.
  • According to the junta newspaper, Deputy Major General Sein Win, former Minister of Defence, has retired from his current position and appointed as chair of the Myanmar War Veterans Organization Central Executive Committee.
  • The junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun said that CRPH, NUG and their contributors could be sentenced to 10 years or a lifetime in prison or a death penalty in accordance with the anti-terrorism law.
  • The junta newspaper said that it was PDF members who had killed 3 IDPs at a village monastery in Khin-U Township and set fire to the monastery.
  • The junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun said that they will be making an effort to handle the issue of the banking system in December.
  • The military junta issued a local order that Rohingya people from Buthitaung-Maungdaw area in the north of Rakhine State were to obtain a permit for travelling and they were not to go beyond the areas.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • U Lwin Ko Latt, Minister of Home Affairs-NUG, said that as implementation for the first step of strategy, there were activities by a combination of EAOs and PDFs in the Spring Revolution. In terms of the public’s fighting, there was cooperation among strike committees and raising their harmony with warfare activities, and it was time to transition into the second stage of the strategy.

Revolution Activities

  • In Phaya Thonesu of Kayin State, a rally of women named ‘Iron Roses’ led a protest against the military dictatorship and conducted white-ribbon campaign for eliminating violence against women on Saturday.
  • According to Yangon residents, the junta armed forces blocked off the whole downtown area and inspected cars.
  • In Mingala Taung Nyunt Township of Yangon Region, youth carried out a guerrilla protest against the military dictatorship near Yuzana Plaza on Saturday, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • In Yankin Township, bombs exploded near U Kyi shop at about 8:45 am and at the garbage pile near the post-office stop at about 9:30 am Saturday.
  • At about 8:30 am Saturday, there was a bomb explosion at traffic police booth on the corner of Yadana Street and Waizayanda Road in South Okkalapa Township. Reportedly, the streets were blocked off.
  • On 19th November, the junta army sealed off the house of Ko Tun Tun, a leader of Khayan Township People’s Defence Force.
  • The public have been boycotting Myanmar Plaza on Gabaraye Pagoda Road. On Saturday, almost all shops in the plaza closed and the neighborhood was deserted.
  • On Saturday, Mandalay Monks’ Union led an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • On Saturday, a rally of young engineers hung an anti-junta banner in front of the sign-board on the entrance to Mandalay.
  • On Saturday afternoon, junta soldiers on secret patrol near 41 Street green grocers’ night market were attacked with a grenade. Reportedly, two of them were injured.
  • In Natmauk Township of Magwe Region, the junta armed forces threatened the public that they would be arrested by force and villages would be set on fire.
  • According to a combined force of PDFs, a military convoy was attacked on their way from Yesagyo to Ma-U Village. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers died.
  • In Myaing Township, local people conducted a protest against the military dictatorship on Saturday, holding anti-junta signs.
  • In Kayah State, youth carried out a white-ribbon campaign in town on Saturday for eliminating violence against women.
  • The funeral of KNDF members, who had sacrificed their lives in Dimawso fighting on 24th November, was carried out on Friday.
  • In Sagaing Region, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched on Saturday, in memory of Ko Pho Chan who was shot dead by the junta army 8 months ago.
  • In Monywa, Basic Education Students’ Union expressed their desire against the military dictatorship on Saturday.
  • In Latbadaung area of Salingyi Township, female farmers carried out a white-ribbon campaign for eliminating violence against women on Saturday morning.
  • In a village of Shwebo Township, local people marched in support of the NUG, EAOs and PDFs on Saturday. They also expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship.
  • As a 293-day protest, Kalay people marched against the military dictatorship on Saturday.
  • According to a member of Salingyi Special Task Force (SSTF), they destroyed 2 trucks doing illegal logging operations on Pathein-Monywa Road in Salingyi Township at about 5:00 am Saturday.
  • In Pha-Kant of Kachin State, local residents conducted a public event in support of the KIA, PDFs and the NUG on Saturday. They also expressed their objection to the military dictatorship.
  • In Chin State, CDF Matupi attacked the junta army stationing at the district administration office on Matupi-Hakha Road at about 6:30 am Saturday. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died and 4 others were injured.
  • In Dawei of Taninthayi Region, youth conducted a guerrilla protest at dawn Saturday, hanging a poster - ‘The war flame is burning and thus, help each other among the public’.
  • In Kyauknimaw village of Longlone Township, local residents were invited to an alms-offering ceremony on completion of Pyusawti training.
  • In Thatone of Mon State, there were 5 bomb explosions in town on Friday morning.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Phapun Township of Kayin State, KNLA conducted an attack on the temporary camp of the junta army near Mataw Village at about 5:00 am Saturday. Reportedly, some junta soldiers were caught and some others ran away.

Summary on 27th November

  • Without the public’s support, the junta army seems to be in need of human resources. In addition to calling on former soldiers and pro-military people to join the army, they arranged to adopt compulsory military service law for every adult. It suggests a drop in support from the public for the army and the disorganization of their force with a great loss of soldiers due to the actions of the EAOs and PDFs.
  • In Yangon, Thatone, Mandalay, Sagaing, Magwe, Dawei, Phaya Thonesu, Kayin, Kayah and Chin, there were activities of guerrilla revolution and public protests against the military dictatorship.
