The Military Council

• According to the junta media, Dr. Win Myat Aye, former Union Minister of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, was charged under the law of anti-corruption.
• At the press conference, the military junta said that PDF members, backed by NLD members, had been killing and doing harm to ward and village administrators. Some EAOs had been giving warfare training to so-called NUG, CRPH and PDFs. They had also been supporting those organizations with weapons. In Yangon, Mandalay and some other townships, weapons and related equipment were confiscated. Those who got arrested made confessions.
• Through the press conference, the military junta warned EAOs not to support providing weapons to the PDFs.
• The military junta announced that those who arrested or gave information about CRPH, NUG and PDFs would be financially rewarded, at least 5 lakhs and an unlimited amount regarding important cases.
• On Russia media, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that the media had been negative since 1962 when the military started to take responsibility of the country. Rather than democracy thriving in Myanmar and development of the country, they just wanted their desired government to rule and control the country.
• The military junta threatened local residents of Kyayzudaw village under the influence of KNU Regiment (4), who had been running away, to return home. If not, they will fire ammunition during their raid into the forests.
• At the meeting of the trade and banking sectors, Daw Than Than Swe, vice chair of the central bank, said that all banks needed to relieve restrictions and reduce service fees.
• There have been some cases in which home address was asked for online shopping delivery and family members of the police were killed during the delivery. A confidential letter ordering personnel not to do online shopping has been issued.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

• For new notes of Myanmar Kyat, the military junta had been approaching overseas companies providing money-printing services. Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment- NUG called on such companies not to cooperate with the military junta in any way or provide them with technical assistance or raw materials.

Revolution Activities

• On Friday night, Mandalay Monks’ Union recited Parittas for the public as usual and protested against the military dictatorship.
• On Saturday, Mandalay Monks’ Union marched against the military dictatorship, chanting “Only NUG is our government. Drive away the military watchdog”.
• On Saturday, a rally of Chan/Zi in Unity protested against the military dictatorship.
• On Saturday, Mandalay Monks’ Union led an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
• On Saturday, a rally of Maha Aungmye marched for driving away the military watchdog.
• On Saturday morning, a rally of Mandalay variety forces marched into the city and expressed their desire against the military dictatorship.
• On Saturday morning, a rally of people of various religions marched against the military watchdog.
• In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, a rally of women conducted the Rosy Women movement on Saturday morning. They marched against the military dictatorship and saluted democracy heroes and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for democracy movements throughout history.
• On Saturday, Dawei public made a guerrilla protest against the military dictatorship led by the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing.
• On Saturday, Taungoo Township Students’ Union, in cooperation with B.E.H.S (1) Taungoo Students’ Union, carried out a paper strike against the military dictatorship.
• In Sagaing Region, local residents made a night strike against the military watchdog in eastern villages of Salingyi Township on Friday, banging pots and pans.
• On Saturday, a rally comprising various villages from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East expressed their desire for uprooting the junta army, holding signs - “Reject ASEAN”.
• In Tantsi Township, an unknown group killed U Kyaw Nyunt, Gyetsukan villager and chair of township cooperative. Reportedly, his dead body was found near Pekhingyi cemetery on Saturday morning.
• Amidst arrests, Kalay townspeople continued their protest against the military dictatorship on Saturday.
• In Hlaing Township of Yangon Region, there were bomb explosions at about 12:00 pm Saturday. According to local residents, ammunition fire was heard.
• AAPP announced the previous day that the military junta had sentenced to death two people under the age of 18.
• According to a local resident, a large number of junta soldiers arrested two young people in Ward (F/A) of Thingangyun Township at about 10:00 pm Friday.
• In Yenangyaung Township of Magwe Region, rural farmers protested against the military dictatorship on Saturday morning, chanting anti-junta slogans.
• In Minbu (Saku) Township, the local PDF attacked the district police station the previous night. Reportedly, some policemen were injured in the fighting.
• In Yenangyaung Township, farmers expressed their objection to the military dictatorship on Saturday morning.
• In Phalan Township of Chin State, the junta armed forces raided Taal village twice for no apparent reason and destroyed property in the village. On Friday, the Organization for Chin Affairs made an official statement condemning such actions.
• In Mindat, 30 junta soldiers and police had been inspecting overnight guest lists and household lists in the wards.
• In Taunggyi Township, Ayethaya PDF sent a warning letter with a bullet to U Chit Swe, administrator of Ward (11) in Ayethaya.
• On Saturday, TCL KKK SHAN warned staff members of Tachileik Township city development not to continue their oppression on roadside sellers. Otherwise, they would fight against them in any possible way.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

• In Kayin State, there were 6 battles between KNLA and a combined force of the junta army- BGF invading Phapun District (Mutra) on Friday. Reportedly, 15 junta soldiers died and 11 others were injured.
• Starting from 7:00 am Saturday, there was a fighting between the junta armed forces and the combined force of KA+KNDF near Dawtahe village in the east of Loilinle on Shan-Kayar border.
• According to Kayin sources, a fighter jet of the junta army dropped bombs into the area of the KNU Regiment (5) at about 12:00 pm Saturday.

Summary on 28th August

• The military junta had been arresting and oppressing NUG, PDF and their supporters every now and then in recent days. They uttered words which could cause misunderstanding among the public. They also made attempts to divide unity among EAOs, PDFs and the NUG.
• Moreover, they tried to split up unity among EAOs and among regiments of the EAOs with discrimination and threatening acts. They also mobilized a large number of armed forces in the territories of EAOs. Through these activities, they have been trying to defame the Spring Revolution and make it fail.
• Despite arrests and killings on a daily basis, various rallies in Mandalay expressed their objection to the military dictatorship almost every day. It showed that Mandalay was at the forefront of the democracy revolution. In Sagaing Region, urban guerrilla attacks gained momentum day after day. The armed revolution of Sagaing spread to Magwe in which there were guerrilla attacks against junta targets.
• In Kayin and other ethnic areas, there were battles against the junta army, given that the latter had been confrontational.
