The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • At 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, there was a meeting via video conferencing between the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Committee on Information and Communication, and Committee on International Relations under Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH).
  • According to The End of Dictatorship by the NUG Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment, there will be a final call for 10 days in the sale of shares for the property of the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing on Inlya Road.
  • In accordance with the right to self-defence, the public have been taking part in a People’s Defensive War. Reportedly, 63 members of the junta armed forces died and 25 others were injured on Wednesday.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Pauk Township in Magwe Region, the junta army raided Gyapyitkan Village on Wednesday, firing mortars. Reportedly, a girl aged six was hit and died.
  • On Thursday morning, the junta armed forces set fire to local villages in Salingyi Township in Sagaing Region, and Pauk Township and Myaing Township in Magwe Region.
  • On the border of Sagaing and Wetlet, there was fighting between the junta army and PDF in Sintkai Village at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday. As junta soldiers fired RPGs into the monastery, a monk was hit and injured. Reportedly, he died from serious injury.
  • In Myinmu Township in Sagaing Region, the junta army arrested 60 local residents in Mandalay Village. Reportedly, they killed four men on Wednesday and killed many others on Thursday.
  • In Khin-U Township, Mg Kant Kant Nyein, a boy aged 13, was injured and sent to hospital. On the way, he was dragged out of the car and kicked to death and his body was dumped in a drain. Reportedly, the PDF leader, who had been transporting the boy to hospital, was also shot dead by the junta army.
  • On their 504th day of protest, a combined rally of villagers from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday. 
  • In Kani Township, there was a rally against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In Ye in Mon State, a local PDF attacked the police station at the center of the town on Thursday. Reportedly, three members of the junta police died.
  • In Bodataung Township in Yangon Region, Than Win, the administrator of Ward (7) who had helped the junta armed forces arrest young protesters, was shot on Thursday.
  • As a revenge for the victims of the junta executions, there were attacks at No. (1) and No. (2) police stations in Thaketa Township as a part of the Zayyar Thaw Operation. Reportedly, there were casualties among the junta armed forces.
  • In Thayetchaung Township in Tanintharyi Region, youths marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday morning, holding anti-junta signs.
  • In Myeik Township, the junta administrator of Kangyi Ward was shot at 5:00 a.m. on Thursday.
  • In Phyapone in Ayeyarwaddy Region, there were mine attacks on the junta inspection gate and the junta administration guesthouse on Thursday morning.
  • In Haigyigyun, artists in support of the military junta were in town for the film in commemoration of the 75 th Navy Day.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Dupalya District under Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade (6), the officer of Cobra Troop cheered up prisoners of war from the junta armed forces and talked with them. A video of this was published,
  • In Rihkhawdar in Chin State, CDF Hualngoram attacked the junta army camp on Tuesday and Wednesday.
  • In Myawaddy Township in Kayin State, there was a battle between Venom Troop led by Saw Win Myint and the junta army invading the area near Okkayitta Camp at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Reportedly, there might have been many casualties among the junta soldiers.
  • In Winemaw Township in Kachin State, the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) conducted an attack on the junta armed forces in Wuyan Village on Thursday morning. Reportedly, more than 10 junta soldiers died and many others ran away. Their weapons were confiscated.
  • In Kalay Township in Sagaing Region, a combination of Zomi PDF and KPS carried out security inspections of the area. Reportedly, they caught a car loaded with the junta army manufactured beer and destroyed it on the spot. They then freed the driver and the car.
  • The United Nations Security Council strongly condemned the junta execution of four democracy activists.

The Military Council

  • According to the junta Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, they are establishing a National Geo-Park in the area of Mount Popa.
  • There was a signing ceremony between the junta Department of Rural Development and Shwe Bank for loans via Mobile Financial Payment in nine villages through the Emerald Green Project.
  • The military junta announced that it had not extended the curfew in Yangon Region.
  • The junta Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned what it claimed were one-sided statements from countries and organisations criticising the executions of four democracy activists.
  • According to the junta Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA), the Yangon Regional Investment Committee allowed 10 investments which could create over 7,000 employment opportunities for local people.
  • The junta Deputy Minister of Construction said that the necessary infrastructure must be implemented for electric vehicles.
  • According to the junta Union Supreme Court, the negotiation system led by courts will be adopted for crimes throughout the country starting from 1 August.

Summary on 29 July

  • Even China and Russia, members of the UN Security Council and supporters of the junta, strongly condemned the junta execution of democracy activists. Those two superpowers might now find it harder to stand by the military dictators.
  • The revolution gathered momentum all over the country. There were still anti-junta protests despite the oppression of the junta armed forces. Even in Ayeyarwaddy and Myeik in Tanintharyi Region , where normally there are fewer revolutionary activities, there were many revolutionary activities in recent days.
