The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC) announced the amendments of the Federal Democracy Charter adopted by the People’s Conference.
  • According to the Myaung Education Network, schools in nearly 30 villages in Myaung Township of Sagaing Region have been reopened with CDM teachers and the curriculum of the NUG.
  • Ministry of Women, Youth and Children-NUG launched a counseling service for the public to discuss their mental wellbeing.
  • The NUG announced that the Ministry of Judiciary Affairs and the Ministry of Defense had set up Central Commission for Investigating Military Crimes to investigate some cases of assumingly lawless murder by some PDF members in Sagaing Region in November 2021.

Revolution Activities

  • On Sunday, India for Myanmar protested in front of the Sri Lankan Embassy in New Delhi against inviting the military junta led by Min Aung Hlaing to 5th BIMSTEC Summit, which will be held at the end of March.
  • On Sunday, CDM staff of education and CDM staff of health jointly set up a committee on promoting the CDM movement and the revolution.
  • In Natoegyi Township of Mandalay Region, a military car was attacked with mines. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died.
  • In Pyigyi Dagun Township, Mg Kyaw Zwa Win or Felix, a protester from Mandalay rally, was beaten and arrested by the junta armed forces.
  • In Pakkoku of Magwe Region, an alliance of PDFs raided a tax office and insurance office at 1:00 pm Monday. Reportedly, they cleared off office assets and told the staff to stand with the public.
  • As a 414-day protest, Kalay people marched against the military dictatorship on Monday. They also showed their respect for those who had lost lives in the crackdown of Tahan fort last year.
  • In Chaung-U Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army raided Inma Village starting from Saturday. Reportedly, they set fire to houses including the monastery.
  • In Salingyi Township, a combined rally of Latbadaung Taung General Strike and Dibeyin youth marched up to Salingyi Road on Monday and protested against the military dictatorship.
  • As a 383-day protest, a powerful rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • Amidst tight security measures of the junta armed forces, local people from Latbadaung Area marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Monday morning.
  • In Shwebo, the junta army sealed off the house of lawyer Daw Su Mon Yi. Reportedly, they burnt it to ashes on Saturday.
  • In Pale Township, a person died of a mortar attack by the junta army in Latpukan Village.
  • In Bamaw Township of Kachin State, there were 3 bomb explosions, killing a woman and leaving 5 police members and 4 people injured.
  • In Insein Prison of Yangon Region, political prisoners shared parcels with their peers in need on Sunday.
  • In Karen State, a car was shot at on the Kawkarait-Myawaddy Asia Road on Monday morning. Reportedly, a man died of a gunshot to his head.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Kanpetlet of Chin State, junta soldiers were attacked on Sunday afternoon while they were standing in a line for a military performance on the junta army day. According to local CDF, no less than 2 junta soldiers died and many others got injured.
  • In Myawaddy Township of Karen State, up to 61 junta soldiers died in Wawlay Battle and weapons were confiscated. According to Cobra, they had been conducting a clearance operation in the area.
  • In Shan South, Karenni National Defense Force carried out a guerrilla attack on the junta army camp.

The Military Council

  • After the coup, the military junta permitted over 300 projects for extracting natural resources in Shan State.
  • On 77th Revolution Day, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that they would have free and open discussions with armed organizations whether they have signed the NCA or not.
  • The military junta announced the list of approved companies from film, music, traditional performance, media and press for the first batch of loans out of the COVID-19 fund.
  • The junta administration of Rakhine State said that they had been preparing to complete construction of a high-rise market building in Sittway within a year. Actually, its tender had been called since the tenure of the NLD government.
  • Joint-secretary of the junta YRTC said that YBS buses would continue to run during Thingyan holidays.
  • The junta propaganda leader said that they had been negotiating for the procurement of power with 11 solar power projects which would generate 30 MW.

Summary on 28 March

  • In Karen State, up to 61 junta soldiers died in their invasion within a day as they were attacked by a combined force of KNLA. Despite the support of air strikes, the junta army could not go forward in that battle and they just had to retreat. With too much force, the military junta might attack back, together with air strikes. Thus, local people need to take caution about that.
  • The junta propaganda leader accused the KNU of airing about this or that. Actually, it is the military junta breaking the NCA by conducting battles with too much force while talking about peace. That is why ethnic armed organizations do not trust them.
  • In Yangon, Magwe and Sagaing, the revolution was in great momentum. As for Mandalay, they just had revolution activities in some areas.
