The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • In Chin State, the Mindat Township Public Administration has been repairing local road sections, damaged by landslides due to heavy rainfall, using machinery.
  • On Wednesday, the NUG Ministry of Labor- NUG announced that their delegation had met with Thai authorities and asked for compensation for 110 Myanmar workers dismissed from a tuna factory.
  • On Thursday, There will be a meeting on Myanmar’s affairs between U Htin Lin Aung, the NUG Union Minister and Kasit Piromya, the Thai Foreign Minister and Dr. Veronica Taylor, an International Law Expert from the Australian National University.
  • At 7:00 pm on Tuesday, there was an online meeting between the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the Kachin Political Interim Coordination Team (KPICT).
  • The NUG Deputy Minister of Defence said that members of revolutionary forces were to fight a fair war with obedience, discipline and excellent military performance based on rural communities encompassing urban communities.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Shwebo Township and Khin-U Township in Sagaing Region, war refugees have been suffering from various health problems and been in urgent need of medicines for treatment.
  • On the Shwebo to Myitkyina Road, the junta army was attacked with mines almost the whole day. As junta soldiers opened fire in response, a man was hit and killed.
  • In Wetlet Township, local PDFs attacked the junta armed forces stationing in Hlataw Village and Ywathagyi Village.
  • In Taze Township, Guerrilla Warfare (K.P.K.) conducted a mine attack on the junta army as they were on their way back from setting fire to Kabaung Village.
  • In Myaung Township, Captain Sanay, a member of a PDF, lost his life while rescuing villagers as the junta army raided Hsinmin Village.
  • On Tuesday, Wings of the Irrawaddy carried out a bomb attack on a junta army speed boat on the Ayeyarwaddy River.
  • In commemoration of the 34th anniversary of the National League for Democracy (NLD), hundreds of local people in the Yaw Area conducted an anti-junta protest on Wednesday, holding up signs saying: ‘Uproot the junta army’.
  • In Seikphyu Township in Magwe Region, over 20,000 people from 15 local villages have had to run away as the junta armed forces have been burning their villages.
  • As a part of the Nan Htike Aung Operation, Pulaw Township PDF attacked a military convoy on its way out from Ka-La-Ya (285). Reportedly, there were casualties.
  • In Myingyan Township in Mandalay Region, 27 Revolution Force conducted bomb attacks via drone at the junta armed forces stationing in three local villages for three consecutive days. Reportedly, there were many casualties among junta soldiers.
  • Since Tuesday night, the Chair of Youth Union, the Chair of LGBT Union Mandalay and four other members have been out of contact with their organisations.
  • According to UNOCHA Myanmar nearly 9,000 people have been displaced in Rakhine State where there has been heavy fighting since August.
  • On Tuesday, the Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar announced that it had been collecting information related to the attack by the junta on a public school in Letyatgone Village in Dibeyin Township in Sagaing Region.
  • In Bokpyin Township in Tanintharyi Region, local PDFs attacked the junta army Ka-Ma-Ya (560). Reportedly, there were many casualties among the junta soldiers.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Kyar-In Seikgyi Township in Kayin State, the Karen National Union managed to take control of a junta army camp in the Phaya Thonesu Area on Wednesday morning.
  • In Hpa An Township, the junta Border Guard Force (BGF) stationing in Nyaungdone Village fired mortars into the village. According to the KNU, three civilians including a child were injured.

The Military Council

  • On Wednesday morning, Dr. Tlaung Cung Thang, a non-CDM township medical officer in Falam, hanged himself and died at his house.
  • Under Article (33) of the electronic law, Model Nan Mway San was sentenced to 6 years in prison.
  • In Mawlamyeingyun Township in Ayeyarwady Region, the junta local censorship team inspected seven shops applying to open as karaoke bars (KTV).
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that the number of local and international tourists was on the rise and preparations must be made for the upcoming tourist season.
  • The military junta announced that it had confiscated the weapons stored by local PDFs at the primary school in Sitha Village in Monywa Township in Sagaing Region.
  • The junta propaganda media claimed that a civilian died and two others were injured due to a PDF in Dibeyin Township in Sagaing Region.
  • According to the junta’s Yangon Urban and Housing Development, they evicted the side-shops and squatters from Kandawgalay or Pha-Sa-Pa-La Housing in downtown Yangon.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that a government should take action for the development of the country, not for a show on TV.
  • The junta Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that their ambassador had attended the funeral of the former Japanese Prime Minister.
  • The junta leader said that the tourism sector has nearly stopped in Myanmar due to COVID-19 and it has caused a loss of job opportunities.
  • Under the instructions of the junta leader, all Myanmar sailors must send back their full salaries fully to the country and if they do not their work permits will be restricted.

  • At a time of armed conflicts all over the country due to the coup, the junta leader has been expecting international tourists. On the other hand, he has been making an effort to get money from workers abroad. It highlights that the junta is badly in need of foreign currency.
  • In Karenni State and Kayin State, there were heavy battles between the junta armed forces and local defence forces. Reportedly, the junta army had to retreat from their camps one after another.
  • Due to the violent activities of the military junta, the number of internally displaced people has been increasing every day. According to the OCHA, more than 1.3 million people have left their homes.
