The Military Council

  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing accused the NUG and related organizations of calling for violence only to destroy the nation instead of urging in a democratic way for the development of the country.
  • The junta army announced their extension of a ceasefire for five months from 1st October 2021 to 28th February 2022.
  • The junta Myanmar Media Council called on news agencies to write ethical and accurate news for the public and sustainable development of the country.
  • The press conference of the junta communication team (9/2021) will be held at the meeting hall of the junta Ministry of Information in Nay Pyi Taw at 1:00 pm on 30th September. Reportedly, local and international media personnel were invited to attend it.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that the import of cooking oil and the country’s spending on foreign currency would be reduced if it could be produced sufficiently in the country and oil consumption could be reduced. He also added that educational activities would be carried out for lowering oil consumption.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that it was up to the awareness of individuals to reduce the use of fuel oil and government departments were to seek ways for such purpose.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Following the right to self-defence, the public have been participating in People’s Defensive War. The NUG announced that there were attacks at 9 military targets of the enemy, 16 administration targets and 2 business targets on Monday.
  • The NUG announced that there were two fair defensive wars in Sagaing and Magwe regions the previous day. Reportedly, 8 soldiers and 7 policemen were contacted to join the public.

Revolution Activities

  • In Sanchaung Township of Yangon Region, four young people were dragged out of the apartment and killed ruthlessly by the junta armed forces near the foot of Myenigone bridge at about 1:30 am on 25th September. Among them were Dr. Zin Lin, a CDM doctor, and Ma Khin Khin Kywe, a female nurse from Yangon 500-bedded hospital. On Monday, security guards on 18-floored condo were arrested for shooting video and broadcasting the incident.
  • At about 7:30 am Tuesday, there was a bomb explosion at the police station in Kyauktada Township, the downtown area of Yangon. According to local residents, it was still unknown if there were any casualties.
  • On Tuesday, a rally of Yangon LGBT made a protest in Thaketa market.
  • After the bomb explosion at Kyauktada police station, a video went viral in which the junta armed forces in plain clothes were behaving wildly with weapons against the public in the downtown area.
  • In Mandalay, a combined rally of Maha Aungmye and Myataung marched against the military dictatorship on Tuesday. They also saluted Ko Fatty, Myataung protest leader, and other martyrs.
  • On Monday night, Mandalay Monks’ Union recited Parittas for the public as usual and protested against the military dictatorship.
  • In Chanmya Thazi Township, Mandalay-Pyin Oo Lwin railway was blown up near 114 street and 116 street in Kanthaya Ward on Tuesday morning.
  • In Pinlebu Township of Sagaing Region, there were heavy battles at the southern villages between the junta armed forces and local PDFs on Tuesday morning. Reportedly, local residents had to take refuge in the town.
  • In the south of Kalay, there was fighting between a troop of 100 junta soldiers and a combined force of local PDF+CNDF at about 2:00 pm Sunday. According to Kalay PDF, the junta army attacked with mortars.
  • On Tuesday morning, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched for the end of the military dictatorship, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • In Shwebo Township, local residents went around a village on Tuesday morning and expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • In Tunzan Township of Chin State, a MyTel telecom tower and related equipment, owned by the family of the junta leader, were blown up near Tawzan village by Tunzan PDF and Northern Kalay PDF on Monday.
  • In Tantalang, there was fighting between the junta army and local CDF somewhere in town from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Monday. Reportedly, no less than 5 junta soldiers died.
  • In Shan North, the junta armed forces arrested a staff member of Lasho-based Ta’ang Students and Youth Union office and 5 teachers from the TEC boarding school.
  • In Monekoe Township of Shan North, the junta army shot mortars in Mankha village at about 10:00 pm Monday. Reportedly, two civilians were injured.
  • Despite internet blackout by the military junta in Myaing Township of Magwe Region, the Basic Education General Strike Committee, in cooperation with the public from the northern zone, conducted a night strike against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • Kyauktu PDF warned on Tuesday that they would make an investigation and take serious action against those who threatened the shops in town and asked for money by force.
  • In Gantgaw Township, police officer Myat Tun Aung from Kan police station joined the CDM at about 9:00 am Monday and took refuge in Yaw Defence Force.
  • Cartoonists’ Rights Network International (CRNI) awarded Wai Yan (Taunggyi) and Laguneain who have been drawing anti-junta cartoons.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Shan North, there was fighting between the junta army and MNDAA on Lasho-Theinni union road from 9:30 am to 10:15 am Sunday. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers died and 6 others were injured.
  • According to KNU, junta-appointed administrators in Kyaukgyi and Mone townships threatened local residents day after day.
  • According to KNU, there were frequent battles against the junta army Regiment (44) in Kyaikto Township due to their invasive military operation. Consequently, there were up to 1580 IDPs.

Summary on 29th September

  • Myanmar kyat has been depreciating together with extremely high inflation. The military junta is not able to handle that situation. Without the ability to solve the problems of higher prices in mostly imported products; cooking oil and fuel oil, the junta leader called on the public to reduce the usage of such oil.
  • In Sagaing, Kayah, Chin, Shan North and Kachin, there were heavy battles.
  • Due to more arrests by the junta armed forces, public protests decreased in cities like Mandalay and Yangon.
