The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Daw Zin Mar Aung, Minister of Foreign Affairs-NUG, said that the Committee on Alliance Relations had been set up with the approval of the government meeting, not only for the revolution period but also for the establishment of a federal union.
  • The NUG stated that they had been meeting and networking with people and organizations from various fields, including the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC), to implement a federal democracy charter with the pledge for all-inclusive and sustainable democracy, peace, stability and development.
  • With regard to the 3-day trip of the ASEAN Special Envoy to Myanmar, the NUG stated that they felt upset for his failure to meet with all stakeholders.
  • Through the NUG, the Anti-Coup Committee-(Korea) supported a total of 24 PDFs and Urban Guerrillas (UG) for March.

Revolution Activities

  • In Ayadaw Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army killed U Nyunt Shwe, a man aged 67 in Parami Village, at 1:00 pm Tuesday by setting him on fire.
  • As a 384-day protest, a combined rally of villages in Salingyi Township marched against the military dictatorship on Tuesday morning.
  • At 6:00 am Tuesday, PDF Kalay attacked the junta army camp in Tahan Ward. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers were hit.
  • In Ayadaw Township, the public and students marched against the military dictatorship on Tuesday, chanting for a society of equality.
  • In Hpakant Township of Kachin State, local people marched against the military dictatorship. They also expressed their support for the KIA, PDF and NUG.
  • In Yangon, there was a march against the military dictatorship on Tuesday, together with anti-junta slogans.
  • In Yangon and Mandalay, 4 young activists and protest leaders were arrested by the junta armed forces. According to their families, they have been out of touch and they have been at risk of losing their lives during interrogation.
  • In Tontay Township, an unknown armed group shot at the family of a former administrator.
  • Somewhere in Yangon, there was an anti-junta movement on Tuesday.
  • In Kalai Aung Township of Taninthayi Region, a female student was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the military junta with the charge of donating money to PDFs via KBZ Pay.
  • In Yetashay Township of Bago Region, a contingent of 40 junta soldiers on foot was attacked with mines by a combined force of local PDFs at 9:00 am Monday.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Chin State, there were battles between the junta armed forces and CDF Mindat somewhere on Mindat-Matupi Road on Tuesday. Reportedly, 15 junta soldiers died and many others were injured.
  • In Beelin Township of Mon State, a convoy of 41 military trucks was attacked by a combined force of KNLA at 11:00 am Tuesday. Reportedly, one of them got hit and injured.
  • From 29 March to 2 April, the 4th conference of top leaders from ethnic armed organizations, which have signed the National Ceasefire Agreement, will be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand as a hybrid event.
  • In Muse Township of Shan North, there was a fighting between the junta army and KIA on Monday morning. Reportedly, there were casualties among junta soldiers.

The Military Council

  • Reportedly, a military helicopter carrying question papers for the matriculation exam to Hakha Airport in Chin State had an accident. Consequently, 2 junta soldiers and 3 education staff members were slightly injured.
  • With the invitation of the Chinese Foreign Minister, the junta minister of foreign affairs will take a trip to China soon for exchanges of view on regional and international affairs.
  • The military junta announced that 10 people who had planned to blow up Puma warehouse of aviation fuel in Thilawa Port via drones were arrested on 22 and 23 March.
  • According to FDA under the junta ministry of health, they inspected meet balls and rolls being sold in local markets and found out that over 20 products were not suitable to eat.
  • From 28 to 30 March, an online conference of The Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Areas of Cooperation BIMSTEC would be held in Sri Lanka. Reportedly, the junta foreign minister was invited to it.
  • There was a free meeting between Chair of the junta national unity and peace committee, and representatives from 5 ethnic armed organizations which had signed the NCA.
  • The junta ministry of planning and finance stated that the period for repayment of interest-free loans by government staff had been suspended for 3 months.
  • According to local residents of Hlaing Thaya Township, the military junta has been collecting the data whether families in Yangon Region have household lists or not, saying that they would provide financial support.
  • Reportedly, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing gave a confidential instruction to set up so-called people’s security forces with pro-military people, including Ma-Ba-Tha, YMBA, police, Red Cross members, former soldiers and firefighters.
  • According to the junta MRTV, a helicopter fell down from the height of 20 meters in Hakha of Chin State due to turbulent weather.
  • In Pyi of Bago Region, the military junta has been making arrangements for Walking Thingyan, Central Pandal and other entertainment pandals.

Summary on 29 March

  • The military junta has been making an effort to destroy the revolution in various ways. They have been trying to distract the public with celebrations and the staff with suspension of loan repayment.
  • On the other hand, they have been persuading the ethnic armed organizations, which have signed the NCA.
  • In Karen State, there were constant battles between the junta armed forces and KNU. As for Chin State, they had clashes between CDFs and a large number of the junta armed forces invading the area. Reportedly, the junta army had a great loss there.
  • Amidst arrest and oppression in Yangon, there were protests against the military dictatorship.
