The Military Council

  • On Thursday, U Aung Naing Oo, the junta minister of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, discussed the mid-term review on ASEAN Economic Community Programme (2025) and implementations of AEC action plans at the Ministry.
  • On Thursday, U Aung Naing Oo, the junta minister of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, met with representatives of the Myanmar-Russia Friendly Association and discussed investment cooperation between the two countries.
  • The military junta announced that basic education schools would be reopened on 1st November as the number of COVID-19 infected cases decreased.
  • According to the junta newspaper, discussions were made at the meeting of the military junta to relieve restrictions for reorganizing events of celebration, allowing international departures and arrivals, international airlines re-entering the country and reopening hotels.
  • According to the junta newspaper, second junta leader Soe Win led a meeting of a working committee to organize Kahtein robe offering ceremony.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing instructed that honorific titles would be bestowed upon staff and ward/village administrators who lost their lives.
  • In Pathein of Ayeyarwaddy Region, there was a bomb explosion at Pathein Township NLD Office, sealed off by the military junta, at about 3:00 am Friday.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • U Naing Htoo Aung, Secretary of Ministry of Defence-NUG, told Myanmar Now Media that the central committee on warfare was set up in cooperation with some EAOs to fight against the military junta.
  • The public have been taking part in the People’s Defensive War. According to the NUG, there were attacks on 13 military targets of the enemy, 21 administration targets and 4 business targets on Thursday.
  • According to the NUG, there were (25) defensive battles all over the country, killing 193 junta soldiers and leaving 44 others injured. There were exactly 50 cases in which the military junta had conducted violence, causing the death of 35 civilians, the injury of 20 people and the arrest of 74 others.

Revolution Activities

  • Cambodia has become the new chair of ASEAN. Cambodian foreign minister said on Thursday that they would put pressure on the military junta to make negotiations with their opposition.
  • According to Bad Guys with Good Hearts, a combined force of local PDFs destroyed a police camp where the junta army used to station in Nagapaut village of Myaung Township in Sagaing Region at about 10:00 am Friday.
  • In a village of Shwebo Township, local residents protested against the military dictatorship on Friday morning.
  • According to Kawlin Revolution (KR), junta military officer Ye Oo died in the battle between Kyaukpyintha and Kachingone villages in the east of Kawlin Township on Wednesday.
  • On Friday, Kalay people marched against the military dictatorship, holding anti-junta signs.
  • On Friday, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East expressed their desire against the military dictatorship.
  • According to Mobye Rescue Team, another man died in Paw-U Ward (1) in Mobye on Shan-Kayah border due to a mortar shot by the junta army.
  • According to Chin News Journal, 3 locations in town were on fire in Tantalan of Chin State due to the attacks of the junta armed forces.
  • With the guidance of education department under Mindat Township Public Administration in Chin State, the operation has begun for school education of 3343 children from over 80 villages.
  • In Taninthayi Township, the house of U Myint Htay, junta-appointed administrator of Pawa village and leader of people’s army, was set on fire. Reportedly, 5 people died including him.
  • In Mandalay, a combined rally of multi-religions and Chan/Zi in Unity marched for democracy and against the military dictatorship on Friday morning.
  • In Phya-Pone Township of Ayeyarwaddy Region, two MyTel telecom towers, owned by the military junta, were blown up at about 8:00 am Friday.
  • In Hinthada, there was a bomb explosion in the compound of an electricity office at about 9:00 pm Thursday.
  • In Maubin, the junta army arrested 5 residents of Yelekale village on Thursday afternoon and confiscated their money.
  • In Pyi Township of Bago Region, Ko Aye Soe, administrator of Hlwacin village group, was shot dead in a liquor shop.
  • In North Okkalapa Township of Yangon Region, there was a bomb attack at the junta army (logistics force 435-436) near Okkala golf course on Friday afternoon.
  • In Kayan Township, there was an explosion at Kayingan gate at about 8:10 am Friday.
  • In Mawlamyein Township of Mon State, Daw Nwe Nwe Aung, a state-level MP of the NLD, was arrested by the military junta.
  • In Yesagyo Township of Magwe Region, local PDF blew up a MyTel telecom tower in Paitthinkat village at about 9:00 pm Thursday.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • According to the Kokang, there was a fighting between the junta army and MNDAA in Shan State and the weapons of junta soldiers were confiscated by MNDAA.
  • In Pha-Pun (Mutra) District under the control of KNU Regiment (5), there were 5 battles between the junta armed forces and KNLA Regiment (5) on 26th, 27th and 28th October. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers died.

Summary on 29th October

  • With a great loss in every sector, the military junta have been preparing to reopen basic education schools. At the time of the revolution in great momentum, they do so to use students as human shields. Parents should bear it in mind.
  • In terms of warfare, Sagaing PDFs are getting the better of the junta armed forces. To fight against local PDFs with just Tumi guns and hand-made ones, the military junta have to use helicopters and fighter jets.
  • In Sagaing, Mandalay and Yangon, there were public protests as well as armed revolution in great momentum.
  • As for Ayeyarwaddy, Magwe, Bago and Mon, they had frequent activities of armed revolution and junta-pillar clearance operations.
