Yangon Region

  • In Kyauk Myaung, a combined rally of Ta-Ka-Tha and Township Strike Committee carried out a guerrilla protest against the military dictatorship on Friday evening. Reportedly, the junta armed forces in plain clothes made a violent crackdown on their protest and conducted arrests.
  • On Friday morning, the junta armed forces in plain clothes on four motorbikes arrested three men waiting for a bus at Yonethit bus-stop on Kaymathi road in North Okkalapa Township.
  • In Hlaingthaya, there was a march against the military dictatorship on Friday morning.

Mandalay Region

  • On Thursday night, Mandalay Monks’ Union recited Parittas for the public and protested against the military dictatorship.
  • After Myataung monastery was surrounded by the junta armed forces in plain clothes on Thursday evening, a monk with COVID-19 infection passed away due to a drop in his oxygen level. According to Mandalay rally, two monks and two monastic boys were arrested.
  • Despite violent actions by the junta armed forces in Mandalay, a Pyi/Gun rally with strong determination, led by Pyigyi Dagun Sayardaw, managed to conduct their night strike against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • With the excuse to control the third wave of COVID-19 in Mandalay, those who go outside are being arrested and fined.
  • Despite violent crackdowns on protests by the junta armed forces and Pyusawti members, a rally of Aungmye Thazan Schools continued their march with strong determination for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • On Friday morning, a rally of Mandalay Alliance marched against the military dictatorship.
  • On Friday, Mandalay youth led an anti-junta movement, “The power of revolution with chanting from prison bars”.
  • A rally of Mandalay Monks’ Union marched against the military dictatorship on Friday afternoon, chanting “Even if we fall down, we will stand up again for the truth. Truth cannot be silenced in solitary confinement”.
  • A rally of Mandalay engineers expressed their desire for the end of the military dictatorship on Friday.

Sagaing Region

  • In Salingyi Township, Latbadaung Taung General Strike marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Thursday evening.
  • In Kalay, the students and the public protested against the military dictatorship on Friday morning, with signs 
  • “We stand with political prisoners” “Truth cannot be silenced in solitary confinement” and “The power of revolution with chanting from prison bars”.
  • With an announcement on Thursday, Pale Township PDF gave a warning to the administrators in their township to resign by 1st August at the latest.
  • In Hommalin Township, Manhone village administrator was shot dead at his house in Narmaw village group at about 8:00 pm Wednesday.
  • Amidst difficulties, Monywa General Strike got together at a traffic lights on Union road and made a protest against the military dictatorship at dawn on Friday.
  • In Shwebo Township, local residents marched against the military dictatorship in a village.
  • According to local social workers in Kanty, a sergeant/clerk from junta army Ka-La-Ya (52) joined the Civil Disobedience Movement.
  • On Friday, a powerful combined rally of Monywa Amyint roadside community conducted a motorbike strike against the military dictatorship.

Taninthayi Region

  • On Friday, Dawei General Strike, in cooperation with a rally of students/youth conducted talks for the cooperation of the public in anti-junta movements.
  • Guerrilla Dawei gave a warning to those selling goods with very high prices at the time of hardships for grass-roots level people.

Ayeyarwady Region

  • Pathein Urban Guerrilla Force said that they had carried out a bomb explosion between Pathein Township city development office and Magyibindan police station at about 8:00 pm Thursday.
  • At about 10:30 pm Thursday, the junta armed forces in plain clothes arrested two men, including a young student, in Ward (9)- Kalagone village of Pathein.

Kayin State

  • According to the announcement of KNU, there were two battles between the junta army and KNLA Regiment (5) at Bawlede area in Kaypu village group of Luthaw Township on Thursday.

Kachin State

  • According to local residents, there were noisy shooting in Myitgyina and Winemaw at about 11:00 pm Thursday.
  • In Moenyin Township, a convoy of military trucks was attacked with mines at Hlweku mountain near Nansiaung check-point at about 11:00 am Friday. Reportedly, a truck was thrown to the roadside, 8 junta soldiers died and 11 others were injured.
  • At about 3:00 am Friday, KIA Regiment (2) made an attack at Marankataung check-point where the junta armed forces had been stationing between Moegaung and Kamai.
  • During the firing in Myitgyina and Winemaw the previous night, a mortar shot by the junta armed forces fell into a factory. According to local residents, a man named Ko Aungli died on the spot and another one was injured in the incident.
  • On Friday, the youth from Lonekhine group led a march against the military dictatorship.

Chin State

In an incident in Mindat, a house was set on fire, Mg Fekwiam was shot dead and his father had his throat slit. CDF Mindat announced on Friday that they had nothing to do with the incident.

Shan State

  • Due to reports of local residents regarding unlawful arrests and land confiscation by the PNO to please the military junta, the PNDF sent a letter of warning to PNO on Thursday.

Summary on 30th July

  • In Sagaing Region, public protests had great momentum and so did the revolution of PDFs. There might be more conflicts in the area these days.
  • The military junta had been trying for crackdowns on Mandalay protests in various ways. They raided Myataung monastery and conducted arrests the previous day. Despite such violence, Mandalay-based monks continued their protest against the military dictatorship and so did many other rallies. 
  • In Dawei District of Taninthayi Region, there were still powerful anti-junta movements. Despite various oppressions by the junta armed forces, local residents expressed their desire in any possible way. As for other states and regions, they had almost no protests. They were in need of help due to the COVID-19 pandemic and floods.
  • In Kachin State, there were warfare activities by the revolution forces. On the other hand, the junta armed forces have been strengthening their power there.
