Summary on 3rd August

  • Even amidst oppression in Yangon, there were still anti-junta movements. On the other hand, the junta armed forces had been looking for young protesters and revolutionaries. It was likely that they would do it in one township after another.
  • Due to violent crackdowns on Mandalay protests by the junta armed forces, there were arrests and deaths. Despite such incidents, various rallies continued to march against the military dictatorship. What’s more, public protests became much more powerful.
  • In Sagaing Region, public protests had great momentum and so did the revolution against the junta. With powerful PDFs, there were clearance activities of informers, Pyu saw ti and pro-violence USDP members. Assumingly, there would be ongoing killing between the two sides.
  • As for other states and regions, they had very few protests.
