The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • In commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 December, Minister of Human Rights-NUG sent a video message highlighting global campaigns to end discrimination against persons with disabilities. 
  • Ministry of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Risks Management-NUG announced that through the focal person of Ayadaw Township, they provided blankets, food and clothes to the fire victims of Namathin Village, which had been burnt by the junta army. 
  • Ministry of Human Rights-NUG stated that the military junta had been violating the legal rights of the public by imposing sentences in illegitimate courts and worst of all, they had been violating the right to life of the public through the death penalty or execution. 
  • Minister of Foreign Affairs-NUG sent a statement of condolence on the passing away of Jiang Zemin, former Secretary General of the Chinese Communist Party and former Chinese President. 
  • At 9:00 am Friday, there was a meeting (18/2022) between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration and Extended Public Administration Teams. 

Revolution Activities 

  • On Saturday morning, Sean Turnell, the released Australian economist formerly detained by the military junta in Myanmar, and his wife joined a fund-raising sale for the revolution held in Sydney. 
  • In Nyaung Oo Township of Mandalay Region, four members of the junta police, including Tun Tun Zaw- officer of Sintku local police station, died in an attack by four PDF members and four weapons were taken away. 
  • In South Korea, Daegu Sayardaw and Ko Zaw Moe Aung, Chair of Korea-Myanmar Cooperation Team, joined the 22nd anniversary of former Korean President Kim Dae-jung winning the Nobel Prize. There, they had talks about the Spring Revolution in Myanmar and the importance of supporting the fund for the revolution. 
  • In Yinmabin Township of Sagaing Region, CDM health staff provided healthcare and educational talks to the public in two local villages and an IDP camp. 
  • On Saturday, a combined rally of local villages from Yinmabin and Salingyi marched against the military dictatorship. 
  • In Monywa, local PDFs attacked the junta army in ordinary cars on ChaungU-Monywa Road on Friday afternoon. Reportedly, no less than 5 junta soldiers might have died. 
  • In Salingyi Township, the junta army has been burning Sartone Village, Latpangyun Village and Tawgyaung Village since 30 November. Besides, they have been arresting many children aged below 18. 
  • On the border of Shwe Bo, Dibeyin and Ye Oo, the junta armed forces have been invading the area and thus, over 5000 people from 10 villages have had to run away. 
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, youth conducted a movement on Friday by placing anti-junta stickers at the crossroads. 
  • In Hlaing Township of Yangon Region, Urban Guerrillas carried out attacks with explosives on two bars, allegedly junta pillars, on Friday night. 
  • On Friday, the United Nations Commissioner on Human Rights stated that the military junta had given the death penalty to a total of 139 anti-junta activists in Myanmar and they had been using the death penalty as a weapon to crackdown on the opposition. 

Ethnic Armed Organizations 

  • In Thatone District under Karen National Union-KNU Brigade (1), three junta army regiments have been preparing to conduct a military operation, according to an officer of Karen National Liberation Army-KNLA. 
  • According to the Kokang Media, the MNDAA Regiment (311) successfully completed their military training. 
  • In Phapun District under control of the KNU/KNLA Brigade (5), there were 116 battles against the junta army in November. 
  • In Dimawso of Karenni State, the junta army placed human-like dummies dressed as junta soldiers and police taking security measures. According to the Karenni National Defence Force-KNDF, the junta armed forces also planted a lot of land mines in local villages. 

The Military Council 

  • On Friday, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing lectured the captains-to-be of the junta army to have the sense of contentment with less greed and illusion. 
  • According to the junta Ministry of Information, the team of Myanmar Radio and Television- MRTV has been on the trips to entertain frontline soldiers and members of the Border Guard Forces. 
  • The junta leader repeated that it was just taking legal action in accordance with the violations of the laws, not for political reasons, in the emergency period after 2021. 
  • In commemoration of World AIDS Day, the junta Ministry of Health announced that they had supported 16 million USD for the procurement of ART medicine and related medical equipment in the 2022-23 fiscal year. 

Summary on 3 December 

  • Volker Turk, the United Nations Human Rights Commissioner, released a statement calling on the military junta in Myanmar to remove the death penalty and suspend executions. However, the dictators seem not to care. Therefore, it is necessary to take action, not just release statements. 
  • Despite the competitive advantage in the power of weapons, the military junta cannot control anything well due to battlefields all over the country. Gradually, they have had to let go of the areas under their control.
