Spring Revolution Daily News for 4 November 2023 

The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • U Lwin Ko Latt, Minister of Home Affairs and Immigration-NUG, stated that the comrades are to bravely fight on the frontline until they get the victory whereas the Ministers and the Ministerial Offices are to serve their best. 
  • The People’s Defence Force (PDF) under Ministry of Defence-NUG stated that in cooperation with Local Defence Forces (LDFs) and the alliance of revolution forces, they have been conducting coordinated attacks in a harmonious way throughout the country. 
  • According to Dawna Column, there were two attacks on a troop of 120 junta soldiers invading Kyaikdone Sub-Township of KyarIn Seikgyi Township under Karen National Union Brigade (6). Reportedly, 28 junta soldiers died. 
  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs-NUG released a statement welcoming the new sanctions by the US, the UK and Canada on the military junta, the junta organizations, arms importers and financial supporters. 
  • The responsible person of the Ministry of Education-NUG stated that over 8500 first-year students would be accepted at 16 universities opened by the NUG. 
  • According to Burmese Women Union on 31 October, 12 women have lost their lives and 10 others have been imprisoned all over the country due to the violence of the junta armed forces from 1 to 26 October. 

Revolution Activities 

  • In Gantgaw Township of Magwe Region, a combined force of revolution forces attacked and took control of the junta police camp in Min Village on Friday morning. Reportedly, 20 junta soldiers died and 10 others were caught alive. 
  • In Dibeyin of Sagaing Region, there were bomb attacks via drone on the monastery and the junta audit office in town. 
  • In Tamu Township and Kalay Township, local PDFs gained control of 4 junta camps. 
  • In Dibeyin Township, the junta armed forces have been invading the area. Consequently, the number of displaced people has reached up to over 10,000. 
  • In Kani Township, the displaced people have been able to eat only broken rice. 
  • In Kawlin, a combined force of PDFs managed to take control of the junta stations in town. Reportedly, they released political prisoners detained at the junta police station. 
  • In Hommalin Township, there was an attack via projectile on the camp of the junta army and Shanni National Army stationing in Hlwacingone Village. 
  • In Kantbalu Township, the junta army set fire to Ngabyawtie Village and Shawphyugone Village. Reportedly, 35 public houses were burnt to ashes. 
  • A Miss LGBT conducted a campaign to let the world know about the violence of the junta army against the civilians and students. 
  • Karenni Nationalities People's Liberation Front called on the junta members and staff to join revolution forces and the public as soon as possible. 
  • On Friday morning, Mandalay Monks’ Union supported 500,000 MMK to Longlone Township PDF in Tanintharyi Region to procure medicine and rations. 
  • In Myaing Township of Magwe Region, there was a mine attack on a junta convoy. Reportedly, there were a large number of casualties among junta soldiers. In response, the junta army raided Silaung Village, burnt an old woman to death and set fire to the public’s houses. 

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) 
Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (606) has joined the Operation 1027 by the three forces of Northern Alliance. 
At 6:55 am Friday, Ta’ang National Liberation Army was able to control the junta army camp at Shweli Suspension Bridge connecting Namkham and Mantwinegyi in Ta’ang State Brigade (1). 
On Friday morning, an alliance led by the TNLA gained control of 4 junta army camps. Afterwards, there has been heavy fighting in Namkham. 
In Muse District in Northern Shan State, Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army managed to take control of Kyucoat (Panseng) on Thursday. 
In Kokang Area of Shan State, the MNDAA was able to confiscate a military truck full of weapons in the battle in Shan Toat Kyaint Village. 
The communication officer of Kachin Independence Army told media that there had been no cases in which the members of KIA and PDF had defected to the junta army along with weapons. 

The Military Council 

  • The junta Ministry of Labour stated that they had been discussing for undocumented Myanmar workers in Thailand to officially live and work there with a Certificate of Identity (CI). 
  • On Friday, the junta Department of Archaeology and national Museum called for public’s contribution to the collection of royal regalia to be on display at Mandalay Palace. 
  • The Vice-Chair of Chinese Central Military Commission stated that China would help Myanmar with the peace process. 
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing claimed that they would fight back the three forces of Northern Alliance and the KIA. 
  • The junta propaganda media mentioned that 10 members of the KIA and the PDF had defected to them. 

Summary on 4 November 

  • The junta leader aired that they would uproot the KIA. The junta propaganda media also told lies that the members of the KIA had defected to the junta army. In other words, the military junta led by Min Aung Hlaing is just full of lies and they are dishonest to the public. 
  • The revolution has been in great momentum. As mentioned earlier - ‘The wave will come one after another’, not only the Northern Alliance but also the PDFs have been fighting the junta army from various points, and they have been able to control towns, the junta police stations and army camps.
